Great ship bad food

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Le Lyrial (Ponant)

We were on with a group from a wine club and had cruised many times in the past but never on Ponant. The ship and cabins were superior to most. The cabins were well appointed with the most storage space of any similar cabin on any ship. Overall the service was great but it was definitely some skew toward the half of the passengers that were French speaking and away from the English speaking. We ...

Lovely Ship - Disappointing Experience

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Le Bougainville

This was approximately our 40th cruise, one of the most, if not THE most expensive (per day), and definitely the most disappointing. We went to meet friends who have cruised with Ponant before; this was our first time. The ship is lovely and clean. Our cabin, though small, was adequate with surprisingly good storage space. The bed was comfortable, and our cabin steward was unobtrusive and ...

First impression was very good. New Ship perfect Style The good first: Food was excellent - Cabin very stylish - nice ... good concept at all Negativ: Cabin too small 19qm smal balkony .. but hey... other things count. Very disapointing: The crew very nice - but some of crew "with stripes" on the shoulder were very arrogant to the guests. Also the reception desk (the lady who ...

Pleasant but not luxurious

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Le Champlain

I simply booked the cruise to Croatia because it was one of the only possible options to go on a cruise and there was no single supplement. Being Belgian the French language was not a problem at all . In view of the actual pandemic great care was given to the medical aspect , passengers had to send quite a long and detailled questionnaire , partly to be filled in by your own GP. Also a covid test ...

First time cruise

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Le Lyrial (Ponant)

We chose this ship as it was small and seemed an ideal way to visit Croatia. Previous reviews were worrying with comments about smoking on board but this was not a huge problem. The French do smoke out on the decks but not inside. The pomp and ceremony didnt appeal on boarding but it went smoothly. The cabin on deck 4 was fine. Quite compact but a lovely shower with plenty Hermes toiletries ...

The Good and The Bad

The Good. The wait staff, front reception or any staff you met on deck exceptional! Rooms are very nice and clean and housekeeping excellent. I have travelled on a few River Cruises expecting a closet on a Small Ship. Not the case very nice. Shore excursions great. Our safety briefing was conducted by someone who did not have a great command of the English language. I left the session still ...

Somewhat Disappointing

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Le Lyrial (Ponant)

Our cruise on the Le Lyrial was quite enjoyable with great food and wine. The Asian crew made sure you had everything that you wanted without a fuss to make sure that you enjoyed your time on board. Saying this I have to say that the Cruise Director, Guest Relation Manager and Shorex Manager were extremely rude young women who would only speak to you if you were french. One of these women ...

Have cruise we other small ships such as Windstar and Seaboure. The Ship it self was fantastic having only been launched in 2015. The cabins were small and difficult for 2 people to dress for dinner etc if both in the cabin at the same time. `The food was fantastic and the service second to none, except being a french owned boat the crew and staff assume you are french which is fine to start with ...

Great Itinerary and Enrichment Lectures, Cramped Cabins, and Poor Food Service

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on L'Austral

The itinerary of Morocco and Andalusia was our primary attraction. The itinerary and the tours were up to expectations. Excellent and recommended We expected a 6 star cruise line, although Ponant and their ships are fairly new in the cruise industry. We appreciated the modest number of passengers, and we look for the cruise lines that have smaller ships. We have been Seabourn fans for some ...
