Nice, relaxing Glory Cruise

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Carnival Glory

This was a much needed, relaxing vacation. I have cruised both with family and friends and alone in the past. This time I was by myself and it was really nice. I flew from Chicago to Charleston the day before and stayed at the Homewood Suites in Mount Pleasant. The hotel provided transportation from the airport and to the port the next day. There was a Target, restaurants and some little ...

To start I would like to extend gratitude to Cruise Critic for all of the very helpful information in planning this trip. I just wish I would have found this site sooner. I am going to try to summarize this review based on our thoughts throughout the week and not give a point by point detail. Sailing on this trip was myself(23) and husband(25).This was out first cruise. As a whole we enjoyed it ...

Overall Great But Some Disappointment

Embarkation: Smooth. Although our parking lot was much farther away than last year (due to an impending arrival of another ship), the shuttle service worked out well. Check in was prompt. Public Rooms: The rooms themselves were beautiful. My problem was that on vacation, my relaxation includes a good cigar now and then. On my last Carnival cruise (The Triumph), they provided the dimly lit, ...

OK, the price was right for a nice little getaway. But my biggest complaint from the time we boarded until our departure is that the Glory is just not clean. As a matter of fact, it was DIRTY! When we checked into our cabin, which by the way was one level below a suite, I noticed the toilet had mildew stains in it and brown specs on the lid. When I pointed it out to our cabin steward, he tried ...

We had never been on a cruise. We didn't know what to expect. This trip turned out to be great! The staff were always very polite, helpful and smiling. Our rooms were cleaned daily, trash emptied, beds made and pulled down, fresh towels put in, and those neat towel animals awaited us, nightly! The food was wonderful, on every level. We ate at many buffets, we went to the main dining room a ...

Day 1 - Monday May 24th. We live local to Charleston so our oldest son drove us down to the port to drop us off. We arrived at the port around 1:30 PM and dropped off the bags at the Early Drop off point. They ran us into the area got the bags and ran us out. Pretty good so far. (If you are coming down I-26, get off on the Morrison Dr exit and you will begin seeing the signs. Just follow them to ...
