We just returned from a 6 day cruise on the Ecstasy. I booked late and you were able to arrange a table for 6 at our preferred time. I admit I had low expectations for our 19th cruise as we just wanted to insure our friend William Schaecher had a great 1st cruise!
Imagine our amazement that this older craft gave us a wonderful experience and based upon the crew possibly our best cruise ...
Well where do start. I know how about Sunday morning at 7am where the crew was dragging some big item across the floor and banging with a large hammer. How about the disgusting smell at the elevator entrance that makes you want to commit. I realize it's a cruise and your not suppose to set in your room but maybe having more than 5 TV channels that repeat programming over and over. Now let me get ...
The ship was built in 1991. This wouldn't be relevant except for the fact that the whole ship stinks. In every area during any time of the day or night there would be a sewer smell. In our cabin, off and on there would be the smell of a skunk smoking a cigarette. No kidding. Distinct skunk smell pumped in through the air conditioning vent. We were on the 11th floor and still had the sewer smell ...
This was our second cruise (cruised on the Magic last year), and we were prepared after reading reviews and watching videos- for the fact that this is an older, smaller ship. Plain and simple- your cruise is what you make it. Yeah, there were some weird smells in the mornings. Yeah, it was a little rocky the first night (it's a boat). We actually enjoyed a smaller ship. We could walk the whole ...
So, I did an 8 day trip to St. Thomas, St. Maarten and San Juan. I was very hesitant on this because it was 1. My first cruise 2. I was going solo and 3. All the negative reviews. I did it anyway. One thing I learned, people will gripe if you hung them with a new rope. Was there a smell? Yes, it was hardly noticable. Did the ship list and rock? Yes, the best part about the whole trip was ...
This was our first cruise and Ecstacy sure did set the bar high. From the moment my 11 and 8 year old boys seen the ship till the last day unloading the excitement never stopped. Kyndall Fire was our CD and she was amazing. She interacted with all the kids, danced with them and of course for one last time, unloading, had to say, BYEeeeeeee ok bye, to my boys. They loved her. Boarding was a breeze. ...
Chose this cruise due to its close proximity to our home. I wish beyond wishes I would have read reviews before booking. As soon as we walked on boat my husband and I looked at each other in horror. The smell is so overwhelming. Complete and utter sewage smell ALL the time. The boat felt so unclear as it is outdated, old, rusty etc. I could barely sleep...it felt like I was sleeping in an RV ...
I went on c.c. to check out this ship and a lot of bad things I had seen written about this ship and I was trying to change my cruise but it was too late, I just got off this ship Monday april 15th and we had A BLAST, my wife and I, this is a smaller ship, but the biggest I have been on and it was real NICE,the crew was always sweeping mopping cleaning up trash and even cleaning the ceiling , ...
The boat swayed, rocked and rolled even in calm waters. Smelled like sewage the whole trip. Even when we were docked the boat vibrated like driving down a dirt road. Seemed the bars were always understaffed, wait time could be long. Not sure why they would wait for your pizza order before they would make a pizza, line was long and they made pizza when you ordered It instead of a pizza buffet. ...
Everything excellent . Driving to port saves on cost. The ship was clean, staff friendly. I cruise a lot and carnival suits me fine. The food was great. Cabin was great (interior to save money. I usually cruise 2 times a year. I just like the casual atmosphere of carnival.
I do this cruise at least one time each year
When I want to splurge I go on RCCL. Not stuffy but more elegant in some ...
