The Celebrity Ascent is a stunning ship with beautiful design in most areas. It has a modern, upscale feel that's truly enjoyable. However, there were a few shortcomings that surprised us, especially considering this is a new Celebrity ship.
One frustration was the theater. We waited in line for a show in the top section of the Club, only to discover it had limited visibility. The layout seems ...
Second week, new room due to excessive noise from midnight to 3:00am under Craft Social Bar on deck 4. Moved to deck 11 aft, super easy process, clothes stay on hangers load up suitcase with the rest of your stuff and walk off the ship for the turnaround at security check.
Back on board in 20 minutes or less, up the elevator and tada luggage and clothes are on the bed. Put everything back ...
This was a charter cruise so I will try to limit my review to those items to the Celebrity ship itself. We have been on this ship several times in a Consierge cabin with nice balcony. The room was spotless & our cabin steward, Komang, was great. As this was a intense music cruise not a lot of time was spent in the cabin but the time there was comfortable.
We felt the food in the Main Dining ...
This was may 55th cruise but first time as Elite on Celebrity, We booked a C1 although I had no use for the concierge we booked late. The ship is huge and has many neat areas such as the garden, Eden, and the atrium. There is a lot of whimsical art. I had trouble navigating the layout and found signage to be inadequate. The buffet was almost always crowded although the selections were very good. ...
Six seniors, 72 and up, 4 from Phoenix, 2 from Washington felt this sailing took us to new Caribbean ports. We normally prefer Celebrity and this ship was well rated, good sail date for our needs with reasonable pricing. Two couples in inside cabins and one in a balcony.
PRE BOARDING: We flew in the day before, a Sunday and all stayed at Residence Inn on Anglers in Dania Beach. The provided ...
Embarkation was confusing but prompt. (The ship was full.) The crowd was almost all over 55. I think we saw 8 kids - all under 6. Our bags were in our room quickly. The online safety checkin was quick.
Our room was more spacious that I expected. The shower was nice sized. The balcony easily accommodated the two of us. Adequate drawer and closet space.
Getting power to our CPAPs was ...
1. The infinite balcony is simply not a balcony; it’s a sunroom with a window that opens. No more debate needed.
2. Our 15th cruise and we missed our balcony but didn’t hate the sunroom concept. On sea days, when the decks are crowded, we missed the option of being able to sit out on our own balcony.
3. The fitness center was small and mostly crowded, especially on sea days. Miss the ...
This was our fist cruise on Celebrity since 2008 and it was nice to see that the line has adapted to the competitive world of super-ships while maintaining many of the feature we loved on the smaller ships.
Overall a very good cruise with good service, great entertainment and good dining. Was it perfect? That depends on your definition. Yes, some of the staff could have been better trained, ...
Smallest ship we’ve been on but it surpassed our expectations. Felt modern, clean and was actually really nice and we had a great 5 days. The food was fantastic, in the dining room and the buffet. The pool area was nice besides the usual annoying people who ‘reserve’ their sunbed and use them for half an hour the whole day!!! The staff do nothing.
Our cabin was interior and very big. Really ...
My wife & I have been cruising since the very early 1970s (M/S Boheme was first) .. we have done 40 or so on Carnival but left when it became so droopy pants and rotten loud music. Transitioned to 32 or so on Princess but were saddened to see our Elite category being diluted with the loss of complimentary benefits we had enjoyed in that category. Transitioned to Celebrity. Cruising has been very ...
