Through our five years of sailing with Celebrity, we have noticed a small decline in the amenities, mostly in staffing. The quality of chocolates is very noticeable, but , hey, who needs a chocolate on the pillow! I'd rather them do away with that than cutting the activities staff so thin, they run from one event to another. Also, the entertainment this trip, April 10, was not on its usual par. ...
We were looking to take a trip to London/Paris and rather than fly, opted to take a cruise.
The ship was wonderful and can't think of bad thing to say about the ship, staff or experience. Best part of the ship was the solarium where we spent most of our days, though at times it did get too warm. They have a small theater for movies but we never got to see any. It seemed the scheduling of ...
I am a little late writing this review of the wonderful Transatlantic cruise we took on the Silhouette in April; however I wanted to share our experiences.
This was our 5th cruise and 2nd Transatlantic cruise, all on Celebrity. Embarkation was a breeze. We arrived at the dock at 2pm and were on board and in our cabin in less than 20 minutes! We were meeting friends from California who were ...
Transatlantic was excellent. Service was fantastic. Everything gets a 5 except the entertainment. Some of the performers were not of the caliber I expect on a Celebrity cruise. We stayed on b2b for the Shakespeare / Scandanavia cruise and the entertainment was spectacular. Food in dining room was excellent. Did not need to use speciality dining. Ate once in Tuscan Grill and Mediterranean ...
We had never taken a transatlantic before and the itinerary ended in Southampton so we could visit friends before flying home. We had been to the Med side of the countries, but all 4 ports we visited were new for us. We loved the days at sea. As much or as little to do--just depended on what you were looking for each day. The crossing was quite smooth and the Captain and crew were visible ...
My husband and I loved the cruise! We were in Aqua Class and the BLU restaurant was wonderful. I felt as if we were having a special dinner each evening. The service in the restaurant was excellent. I took advantage of the Persian Gardens each day.
I found I was busy all the time on the ship. There were so many things to do if you wanted to participate in activities. If you wanted a more relaxed ...
We always enjoy the Transatlantic cruises, especially the sea days when there is lots going on. Meeting interesting people and making new friends! Food good, but it does get a bit boring towards the end of the cruise, it gets rather repetitive. On the whole all good, nothing negative.
Our first port of call was Lisbon where we have been before, we got off the ship and wandered around, had ...
I always wanted to try a transatlantic cruise and, when I received an email for a soon to depart 13 day cruise with a balcony for an unbelievable price, I jumped at it. I'm retired and live in Florida, so can take advantage of last minute deals. The ship was wonderful, as were the passengers we met (many of whom have done this trip many times) and the specialty dining was superb -- we tried 4 ...
I have fully enjoyed my Transatlantic cruise on the Silhouette. However my wife and I and our friends who accompanied us have been irritated with extremely LOUD music in the theater and the main foyer and also the choice of music is more for the younger crowd while most of the guest are in the 60's and above. Too many times they advertise Broadway music of the 50's,60' and 70's yet they will only ...
Celebrity Silhouette (13 NIGHT TRANSATLANTIC CRUISE) was my 20th cruise. The ship in and of itself was the most welcoming ship I've ever been aboard from stem to stern.
Most memorable ... the bathrooms in the aqua-class cabins; roomy, no "sticking to my body" shower curtains, spray jets and shower pressure I've never experienced on a ship before.
We had the luxury of being able to dine in ...
