Solstice worth every dollar

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

The cost to travel on this ship has been relatively high in comparison to other ships. When we seen it at a bargain, we grabbed the deal Overall we found service to be high particularly in the buffet where staff dealt very effectively with my wife's dietry needs. The food in the main dining room was good quality and so was the service but on a couple of occasions the tempreture of the food ...

We are a young at heart (50s) couple who were looking to do something different for our holidays and so decided to do our first ever cruise. Using our local travel agent, we were initially booked on another cruise line at the start of March, but due to unforeseen circumstances at my husbands work, we had to cancel that and we switched to Celebrity Solstice.....and think we got the better ...

My wife went on a 3 night cruise with some girl friends last year and broached the subject of cruising with me. After a little research I decided on a 9 night cruise on the Celebrity Solstice in a Concierge class balcony stateroom. We arrived at the Sydney Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay and were gobsmacked at the ease of of clearing customs (compared to airports). Once on board we ...

Still the best ship operating from Australia

Having started out with Celebrity and then cruised with RCL, MSC and Princess it was good to get back to the familiar quality of experience offered on Solstice. Perhaps not best for families or people looking for rock climbing or other adrenaline rush activities. Celebrity instead is where I feel most comfortable. Being almost 60 and still on the younger side of the average tells you something ...

First time cruise - Fantastic experience

My partner (30) and myself (28) chose this cruise initially based on reviews we had read on this website. Firstly I would like to say what an amazing experience all round. It was an older crowd probably average age 50+ but there were however guests close to our age on board and quite a lot of them also. We actually mixed more with older guests that we met. We met some lovely people. Our ...

Second time on the beautiful Solstice, third cruise with Celebrity, lived up to all our expectations, 10/10! Embarkation and disembarkation in Sydney were both very smooth and handled very well. The ship is beautiful, always spotlessly clean in all areas. Every member of staff we met was smiling and friendly and always greeted every guest with a "good morning/ afternoon/ welcome on board/ ...

This was our first cruise and it was with a bit of trepidation that we booked it. We made sure it was not a school holiday period as we wanted some relax time. Booked a stateroom veranda and secured a starboard room on Deck 8. Great location with terrific view. ( a tip though..if you want a more economical cruise you could go inside cabin as we hardly spent time in the cabin and as much as I ...

With been first time cruises we wanted the best and certainly wasnt disappointed. Our room with balcony was large and great to have breakfast out there each morning. Emabrking and disembarking took of around 30 minutes. The food was incredible in the buffet and the MDR. As for things to do you could do as much or as little as you wanted. I was happy with a book sitting around the pool. When ...

Our most disappointing Celebrity cruise to date

This was our 8th cruise with Celebrity and the second on the Solstice which is a beautiful ship. Embarkation was swift and pain free and we were onboard just after 11am. We were given the Classic Beverage Package as a free perk and upon boarding, asked the cost of our favourite NZ Sauvignon Blancs (in particular Villa Maria). At $12.50US per glass, they are definitely Premium Package ...

Overall Good Cruise Experience - Celebrity's attention to problems needed

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

User Avatar

Solstice cruise was very good overall. Celebrity does need to train its embarkation staff in processing as several problems were encountered during a process which is a zoo on good days. We had a suite and ate in Luminae but always requested the Main dining room menu for variety and that worked out well with no problems. The Wine sommelier was very good in Luminae. Specialty restaurants Murano ...
