Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Celebrity Summit

We are frequent cruisers with Celebrity. For 2018 we will be at Elite Status with the Captains Club. I was thrilled to book a scuba diving adventure on Aruba. It was only my 2nd time. The ports of call were great except Dominican Republic. Captain Kate, the only female captain had a huge presence on the ship. She rescued 6 people who were adrift at sea for 2 weeks and had no food or water for 6 ...

Been several years since I’ve cruised on one of the floating hotels and now I remember why I gave up on them. Too crowded, too many lines, subpar entertainment, someone always trying to sell something, mediocre food. Very unfriendly dealers who tried to keep the game going fast, so fast I wasn’t able to get my bets in sometimes and I’m not a novice gambler. On the positive side dining room ...

Another wonderful time on the Summit

This was our 12th cruise with Celebrity, 5th on the Summit. Obviously, we are fond of her. There was a lot of weird going on with this cruise as it was out of San Juan. I made hotel reservations months before the hurricane with the intent of spending a couple nights pre-cruise in San Juan. I read a lot of reports of the various hotels with regards to opening dates, etc; our hotel was to reopen ...

Loved the 11 Night Dutch Antilles Cruise on the Summit

In December my husband and I took the 11 Night Dutch Antilles cruise aboard the Celebrity Summit. Was a wonderful experience. First, we stayed two nights at the beginning and end of the cruise in San Juan at the Doubletree. We were originally booked for the Caribe Hilton, but that hotel was damaged during the hurricane. Our stays in San Juan were great. Other than traffic lights being out ...

This was our sixth cruise on Celebrity and second time on the Summit. After a very poor experience on the Solstice last year, and mediocre experiences on Reflection and Equinox prior to that this cruise was make or break for Celebrity with regard to us. The Summit crew came through with distinction. The service on the ship was good to exceptional in all areas. I hope the crew doesn’t lose its ...

Had a great time with Celebrity as always. Captain Kate is so refreshing. She is friendly , approachable and you can understand her. Rescue at sea a new experience. The shipboard activities seem to be fewer maybe due to smaller ship. Would like more activities during the day. Was surprised that that on an 11 night cruise only saw singers and dancers 3 times. The fill in shows were not as ...

"An Old but OK Cruise Ship"

I had an assignment (traveling alone as a single) to cover the Caribbean Islands - Celebrity Summit departing from San Juan, had a comprehensive itinerary which suited my needs. Being able to secure an ocean-view cabin at a very low price, certainly didn't hurt my feelings either! This is an older ship of the Celebrity line, but well maintained. The crew are a delight, especially the wait staff ...

So this was my third cruise with Celebrity and first time on the M-Class Ships. This was also my first time leaving from San Juan . We arrived from Montreal days prior to our departure as we have never been to San Juan. We stayed at an Air Bnb and everything was pretty good in our area. Found the locals very nice. the embarkation process was very smooth and quick. we are arrived at around ...

My husband & I have cruised with Celebrity many times and on the Summit once before. We always love sailing with Celebrity, they have great service, friendly staff & awesome food. We don't particularly like the "music & dancing" type entertainment, and most of the shows were that type this time. We only went to the comedians, but we really did like them. Captain Kate and all of her staff ...

Chose this cruise because of the ports. Great itinerary, really enjoyed many of those ports which were new for me. A bit of confusion as to boarding time. We had a boarding time of 3 pm, but turns out we could have boarded the ship earlier around 11, which was a bit of a disappointment, as we had to check out of where we were staying at 11, with nothing to do. We did not attend many of the ...
