This was my 3rd cruise on Celebrity, and somewhere near my 17th cruise (most on RCCL, with experiences on NCL and HAL). My mom (60’s) and myself (30s) have tried to take a mother/daughter cruise every summer since I graduated college and look forward to this every year. We sailed on the Summit last year to Bermuda and quickly agreed it was the best port to go to and we had such a blast on the ...
Husband chose this cruise for his birthday trip this year. Flying to Bermuda and getting a nice hotel room was much more expensive. We sailed the Summit in Oct. on it's repositioning from Bayonne to San Juan (before the face lift). We had an Aqua room on deck 11. Liked the changes they made, plenty of outlets for charging and electronics in the room. (Note: You are not allowed to bring on ...
This cruise was chosen for it's itinerary to the Southern Caribbean. This was the second cruise after refurbishment. Updates were nice. Except the new beds are like sleeping on concrete. Inside Cabin was good size. But several issues with Cabin- Day 1- No Air Conditioning and whining noise coming from air intake vents; Day 1-3 No Hot water in the shower; Day 4- Key card wouldn't open cabin- ...
I chose this cruise because of the itinerary. I have also sailed with Celebrity in the past and it was amazing. The ship just coming out of an extensive refurbishment was also a factor. Boarding was quick and easy as we filled out our Xpress passes prior to sailing. Our plane arrived in San Juan 2 hours late so we boarded during the muster drill and did not receive our glass of champagne, with I ...
I had high expectations post-revolution as I was on the Summit last August and was excited to see the improvements. Were it not for the excellent staff I would have left really pissed off.
We took a taxi from the airport to the pier. There were no ships in port so it would have been nice if they used a dock in town instead of their current location. Too much to get off and taxi into town. ...
This was our second cruise on the Summit, first post-Revolution obviously. We went Aqua Class for the first time.
Embarkation was easy and prompt, no waiting. We also appreciated being able to drop our bags in the room even though it wasn't completely ready yet.
After boarding, however, our luggage took 4 hours to find us. The luggage tags provided indicated our correct cabin number but ...
Well, it was our first cruise to this part of the Caribbean and we picked as to the number of different islands during the cruise. We‘ve been on a number of other cruises before, several of those with Celebrity which is so far our favorite cruise line.
Although we enjoyed the cruise, I have to say it does not fully met our expectations.
The itinerary was interesting, the islands are ...
Great price - good value for the number of days.
Every crewmember seemed to want to give the best service. Our room steward was excellent. He couldn't do enough to please us, and was very personable.
There were too many ports. We would have liked to have had more sea days.
We were disappointed that there were no guest speakers and theme.
As for the food, we found that it ...
We have done Southern Caribbean cruises several times, but chose this 12-day cruise because of the stops in the Dutch Antilles (the "ABCs" -- Aruba, Bonaire, Cuacao), which we have never visited before. There was also a stop in the Puerto Rican city of Ponce, which again, was new for us. We are familiar with the Summit, having sailed a back-to-back some years ago on a very memorable and enjoyable ...
Looking for escape for winter weather, this cruise offered a few new ports for us. Unfortunately, propulsion issues caused ship to spend first day sitting in San Juan, and cancellation of second day in Aruba. Also found out on board that itinerary had been altered weeks before, but we were never notified. Difficult for people with private arrangements. Ship badly in need of upcoming overhaul. ...
