We cruised on the Summit in December 2022 and fell in love with the ship. We liked the smaller size, the food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. When we saw she had a sailing to Bermuda in July 2023, we couldn't resist. We wish we had resisted and had chosen a different cruise line.
First of all, the good:
~Embarkation was the easiest of any port we have ever been to. It was ...
Due to COVID I had to cancel a long Celebrity cruise and had cruise credit to use up.
As my wife cannot fly, we pick ports in driving range. So, Bermuda here we come. A lovely Island.
The wheelchair support on and off ship was excellent. Great embarkation and disembarkation teams.
Welcome lunch in main dining room was disappointing. Wife's salmon was nearly jerky, and the room setup ...
Room service: 5/5
Stateroom attendant provided awesome job. He tidied up the room twice a day. He was polite and friendly.
Oceanview Cafe: 2.5/5
Food choices were fewer. There were 4 permanent stations offering the same exact basic food daily, namely Pasta, Stir fry, Salad, Pasta and Mexican. Only 2 stations offered different verities, namely Indian and there was daily feature.
Dessert ...
Note: we have been on this ship 2 other times with much better food experiences.
PROS:

We chose this cruise because it was an easy drive from the NE and we loved the itinerary. We have sailed with Celebrity many times but felt they missed the mark on this one. Embarkation was a breeze. We arrived 15 mins prior to our scheduled time and were able to get right onboard. We had completed the online check-in (which was very easy) and were able to get right into our room. This is where ...
We had not been to Bermuda in years, so this was appealing to us. After being Diamond + on RC, we have started to lean to Celebrity after sailing The Edge. We are casino members and our casino host was delighted to book us into the Aqua Class. Although we were excited, we quickly became disappointed. Aqua class may be the top of the cake, but certainly not on the Summit. Rooms were small and ...
Celebrity Summit 6-2-22
Our adventure on the Celebrity Summit sailing of June 2, 2022 actually begins back in 2019 when we booked the “Charleston / Bermuda” cruise for 2020. That was canceled and it was rebooked for 2021, which was also canceled and then rebooked for 2022. Then Bermuda put it's covid protocols into place which in turn caused Celebrity to change the itinerary to visit Bermuda ...
Had Cruise credits to burn based on previous cruise bad experiences and cancellations...
Embarcation at Bayonne was tedious.. Previous embarcations had special considerations for Captains Club Membership... Not this time.... Only Suites were given special attention. We were taken out of the cue because I was riding a mobility scooter and given extra attention because of that.. Covid ...
First the bad: to go to Bermuda we needed a travel authorization. Bermuda had the wrong date for our cruise and I had to call into Celebrity and get it corrected. Next, Bermuda was supposed to be our third port but apparently no one at Celebrity read that if Bermuda isn't your first port, you need to be re-tested for COVID. So I personally had to inform them and they changed the order of the ports ...
The ship itself is very nice and easy to navigate. The food in the main dining room was always delicious, our waiters Anish and David were fantastic . The buffet had a nice variety food was hit or miss, but definitely better than other buffets.
The cabin was nice and the attendant was very responsive.
We could hear our neighbors whole conversations, even them snoring at night. I’ve never ...
