We are world travelers but relatively new cruisers so this review describes our experience but does not attempt to compare it to other cruises. In general, we had a good experience and would recommend the ship and the itinerary to you.
Those things that exceeded our expectations were Boston, Quebec City, most customer service, the buffet food, the condition and maintenance of the ship, and ...
I chose this cruise with my husband to see the fall in New England.
It was supposed to be a relaxing time.
However for some unfathomable reason that no one can explain to me. They play music down the corridors all night long. I have complained.
This keeps me awake or indeed wakes me up. I have tried wearing ear plugs.
I accept I am a light sleeper but still not logical for music ...
We chose this cruise to visit the east coast and possible see some early fall color. We really like the size of the ship. The itinerary of the cruise is another reason we picked this cruise. Very good stops.
The surprise for me was:
1. The Food. WOW, the food quality and Varity was really reduced on this sailing. Dining in the main dining room, the offerings and selection were really reduced ...
I cruise with Celebrity often. Picked this cruise to see Nova Scotia and Canada for eleven day cruise. Itinerary looked good. The food was very good, chef in restaurant did a great job. Wine pored freely was nice. What I found disturbing was the overall condition of the ship. Deep rust in many areas, furniture broken, missing cushions on rear deck by cafe. Asked what’s going on with the ratty ...
Mostly the itineraries and the port being so close to home! Every port was amazing especially Quebec City and the added overnight due to the hurricane! Excellent choice to keep us safe! We also had the best Cruise Director ever Manuel I don’t think he ever sleeps he was truly the greatest of all our 60 cruises. We also enjoyed every show very different each evening Karen Granger was a gem! Brandon ...
Chose this cruise because of itinerary and could drive to Boston. First time on a M class ships and was very impressed with the ship and crew. Enjoyed all the ports, especially PEI. Loved the naturalist talks and nightly shows. Only criticism is with MDR entree selections. Definitely less than previous cruises, but the food I had was good, just missed the selections we were used to. Tuscan ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary - leaving from Boston and going through the Maritime provinces to Quebec City and back.
I have noticed that most of the good reviews for the Celebrity Summit generally come from the passengers who did the short jaunts in the Bahamas and the poor reviews generally come from longtime cruisers and/or passengers on the longer cruises.
This cruise on the ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary for Iceland & direction and timing (Our 25th). Our first and very likely LAST on Celebrity (previous on Princess/HAL). I was so disappointed in stateroom (UD Concierge), food & service. The food as many of the Elites we met in the MDR also agreed was just very, very repetitive, often slow & frequently not good. Had two hour-long waits there for our mains. We ...
We chose this cruise for two reasons. The first was the itinerary which included Iceland and Greenland. The itinerary was great and I would highly recommend it.
The second reason was because one person in our party has a gluten allergy and Celebrity has been great accommodating it in the past. Not so one this cruise. There were very few options available. In fact they offered the same two GF ...
Our cruise started off in Reykjavik, Iceland. Much of the info regarding this trip on the internet was wrong. Many writers said that to get from the airport to the center of Reykjavik was difficult. That was wrong. There are buses exclusively for transportation from the airport to the city center at approximately $30 pp. Others said that from the central bus stop to your hotel was an easy walk. ...
