Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Celebrity Summit

The Positives; I must say that the Summit is a nicely designed ship & well appointed both in the public areas and the Staterooms (starting to get a little rusty around the edges). The half dozen bar/lounge areas are sumptuous, inviting spaces both day & night! The other thing that was a noticeable plus, was the stellar service of all the restaurant staff & Stateroom attendants. The ...

Celebrity Summit; After sailing on the Reflection this was a let down

We chose this cruise for Southern Caribbean itinerary and we were going with neighbors. We did a B2B so we stayed on it an extra week. We were anxious to go on this ship after the refit and the reviews for good. Our expectations must have been too high because it did not compare at all to the Reflection we were on 2 years ago. There was no library and no place to play cards and games. The food ...

We booked this cruise a year and a half ago while onboard our very first cruise ever on the Millenium in Alaska. We loved everything about that trip and were looking forward to an equally satisfying experience on this trip. Things seem to have changed since then. Embarkation was flawless. Quick, easy and smooth. We were lucky enough to get an upgrade to a veranda. The room was beautiful, ...

Holiday Cruise

It was our first cruise on Celebrity cruise but my 7th cruise overall with various lines. The main reason why we chose Celebrity was because we wanted to experience a cruise line marketing itself as “one notch above” but still being affordable. Also, we had cruised once in the past during the holidays and it was fun. With these considerations, the experience was very good but not enough to ...

Maybe last time w/Celebrity

We're Elite on Celebrity, but were a little disenchanted on this last cruise. I would say embarcation with the express pass was great, disembarcation easy also. We always carry our stuff off, and although directions were not consistent that morning, it was pretty easy. We sprung for Aqua class and totally enjoyed eating in Blu. Excellent staff, excellent food. So why are we disenchanted? ...

This cruise was chosen for it's itinerary to the Southern Caribbean. This was the second cruise after refurbishment. Updates were nice. Except the new beds are like sleeping on concrete. Inside Cabin was good size. But several issues with Cabin- Day 1- No Air Conditioning and whining noise coming from air intake vents; Day 1-3 No Hot water in the shower; Day 4- Key card wouldn't open cabin- ...

I chose this cruise because of the itinerary. I have also sailed with Celebrity in the past and it was amazing. The ship just coming out of an extensive refurbishment was also a factor. Boarding was quick and easy as we filled out our Xpress passes prior to sailing. Our plane arrived in San Juan 2 hours late so we boarded during the muster drill and did not receive our glass of champagne, with I ...

I Was Not Wowed - Post Revolution

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Celebrity Summit

I had high expectations post-revolution as I was on the Summit last August and was excited to see the improvements. Were it not for the excellent staff I would have left really pissed off. We took a taxi from the airport to the pier. There were no ships in port so it would have been nice if they used a dock in town instead of their current location. Too much to get off and taxi into town. ...

Good weather and itinerary but for a series of irritations

This was our second cruise on the Summit, first post-Revolution obviously. We went Aqua Class for the first time. Embarkation was easy and prompt, no waiting. We also appreciated being able to drop our bags in the room even though it wasn't completely ready yet. After boarding, however, our luggage took 4 hours to find us. The luggage tags provided indicated our correct cabin number but ...
