I cruised on Celebrity Summit, it was repositioning on Oct. 18 and was in cabin 7086. I'm a captain's club member and have cruised on Celebrity 7 cruises. I cabin was always clean and our steward was great. I want to tell you that the cleanliness of the pool area was unacceptable. There were dishes and glasses that were never cleaned up for hours. The coffee stations were never filled 24 hours a day. The activities on the ship were minimal. I always relied on something to do on the ship while we were sailing. They had one activities host during the whole cruise. Shows were terrible. The dining staff was great. We ate in the main room. The food was good but what happened to the soups. No seasoning on any thing and food came out warm not hot. I wanted to re-book a cruise for the winter on Celebrity but now I'm not so sure. Read Less

I have been sailing with Celebrity since they were Chandris, then Fantasy Cruises, now Celebrity Cruises. It seems like the original owner wanted to provide a sense of casual elegance. Even until I sailed on their Silhouette in the summer of 2012, that was how I could describe them. But, things seem to be changing. Lack of staff in certain parts of the vessel (dining venues) seems evident. Here are more specific comments I have to make regarding my latest experience. The 'express luggage delivery' for traveling in 'Aqua Class' is a fantasy/myth. My luggage took from 3:00 pm to 8:30 PM to receive. No one had an answer as to why. Therefore, no dressing for dinner. The private mini bar was basically non-functional. Might as well just remove it as it did not 'cool' anything that was placed in it. This was noted by other passengers up and down the hall. This remained the case after a tech. was brought in to 'resolve' the issue. The DJ needs to get hearing aids in that he can not seem to hear anything playing by the pool. He could not increase the volume enough. If I wanted a drunken bar room brall party atmosphere I would have traveled with another cruise line. You know who that is. Sad that the intimate martini bar was brought front and center to be a large gathering spot for drunks and company profits. Celebrity is losing its sense of sophistication. Also, the rules regarding specialty dining packages were not appropriately advertised online. Seems only employees know the rules about the 3 night specialty dining package (i.e.,1 night Qsine and 2 Normandie,) not the other way around. It also seems that there are nickel and dime charges hidden all over the ship (e.g., free ice cream upstairs, ice cream for a charge on deck 5). Also it is clear that the pizzeria and the grill are understaffed during lunch hours. Not a good plan. Staff are not communicating and seem distant / unhappy. May I recommend an internal anonymous survey of employees? Also, being an Elite member, I found the separate lounge for happy hour to be underwhelming because staff were not present, and when they were, served underwhelming cocktails. The cruise line might as well just skip the meeting room before dinner cocktails because they don't know what else to do with this top floor lounge between 5:00 and 7:00 pm. I have never had such a bad Cosmopolitan in my life. I couldn't wait to get to another bar (for a cost) just to wash the taste out of my mouth. Those who are Elite and above members know what cocktails should taste like. Waiving free drinks in front of us, although appreciated, were not satisfactory. Besides all of these concerns, I had a good time. This cruise line should just not try to be all things to all people. Read Less

I just enjoyed the Nov 12 sailing of the Celebrity Summit from San Juan. It was a 7 night cruise that stopped in Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Maarten and St. Thomas. We arrived at the terminal at 1:30pm and the flow was very smooth through the luggage and arrival lines. We were quickly on the ship. Our luggage arrived prior to 5pm. John, our Stateroom attendant and his assistant Luis took excellent care of us during our stay. They were gracious and accommodating with all requests. We stayed in the Concierge Staterooms which provided welcome champagne, fresh flowers and evening hors d'oeuvres. These were very nice touches. Also, there was quite a lot of cupboard space. We both had more than enough room to store all of our items for our 7 day adventure. We were fortunate to meet Sasha, the Maitre D'hotel for the 5th floor of the Cosmopolitan Restaurant and he accommodated our special requests for our evening dining. Sasha was very gracious and flexible to our needs. We appreciated his nightly recommendations for the stops for the following day port locations. He is a true professional and the Summit is lucky to have him. Our server Roldan and his assistant Diego provided excellent service each night as well. Head waiter Edward was very outgoing and oversaw the Aqua Spa Healthy Choices area. He went out of his way to take care of special lunch requests for us during our trip. The overall service from the staff was very detail oriented and friendly. Every member that I came in contact with smiled and greeted me professionally with a "good morning/afternoon or evening". My travel companion and I took advantage of the "Perfect Day" spa packages offered for a port day and enjoyed the services very much. I also had a manicure done by Tandy at the spa and she did an excellent job. She was very friendly and gracious. We did a tour of the Persian Garden amenities and were very impressed with these additional options. The Fitness area was well kept and the machines were very clean. There were many choices of activities and health sessions available to guests. The evening entertainment was very good. I enjoyed the cast member productions the most. The cast members were very good, especially the vocalists. Damian, the Cruise Director had a great sense of humor and his interaction with Matt on the daily in room video was a source of entertainment. The many events for dance competitions, vocal competitions were a great his as well. Shopping is always a treat in the shops on the ship. It was a great area to wander through prior to or after dinner if we had a few minutes. Good variety of items with a wide range of prices. I was sad to see my trip come to a conclusion; however I can't wait to book another cruise so that I have another adventure to look forward to. Read Less
