I took my first cruise with Celebrity, sold on their marketing that they provide a more upscale experience. One word can describe my experience: disappointment.
Things started the wrong way right with embarkation, when my parents in law visiting us from abroad were denied entry initially, for not having with them EVUS documents. Apparently that's a website registration prior to flying to the ...
Cindy and I were in severe need of a little distraction from real life and at the last minute, we jumped on to a cruise ship for a 5 day Carribbean Cruise.
Me being me, the criteria for choosing a cruise line was the FOOD. I did some internet research and also spoke with longtime family friends who do lots of cruising and a result we booked with Celebrity Cruise Lines, reasonably priced and ...
I was cruise shopping based on price and spotted this run- excellent ship and ports and $249 Ocean View cabins. We we already in Florida for a trip on the Connie so this was an easy decision. I really really like Key West as a port, and wanted to return to Nassau.
The idea was to rent a car at the Tampa port and drive down. Avis, normally reliable, was 15 cars short due to late returns. ...
The summit has a great overall look, until you look closely. There were a lot of smaller issues that appeared to have been overlooked, resulting in a not so great overall experience. The food was a highlight, with great food and service in the main dinning room (Cosmopolitan Restaurant). The concierge staff, guest services staff, shop staff, and casino staff were all fantastic. The live music was ...
I chose Celebrity for my first cruise because I wanted a relaxing time with an upscale vibe. Celebrity Summit did not disappoint! Although we missed a port due to weather and the seas were a little rough, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The shows were great, the food was excellent, and the service top notch. Every staff member I met was friendly and welcoming. I sailed as a solo passenger and ...
Before I start into the review, I'll share a little background. For this cruise, it was me and my fiancé traveling. We are both in our late 30s and overall just look for a relaxing experience on vacation. I've been cruising since 2018, and this was my 2nd cruise on Celebrity, the first being on Equinox earlier this year. Before that, I have 11 Carnival cruises under my belt, so I'll offer a few ...
Embarking on a 5-night journey aboard the Celebrity Summit to Cozumel, Mexico, my wife and I eagerly anticipated a luxurious experience, especially after opting for a concierge cabin upgrade. While the cruise had its highlights, including a memorable Cozumel excursion, certain aspects left us contemplating the value of the upgrade and the overall cruise experience.
Cabin Upgrade:
Our ...
We chose this ship for 2 reasons. One was because it was our first Celebrity cruise and two, we wanted to visit Key West.
I kept hearing great things about Celebrity, so I figured to give it a try. We’ve been on many different lines, so we had a lot to compare certain things to.
The not so good…
First thing to say is the ship is old and is in need of some attention in many places. Rust is ...
Now that we are both retired, my wife and I have resumed cruising and as part of that we decided to try a few more of the main-stream lines we had not sailed before. We prefer small to medium size ships (about 100,000 GT or less with under 2,000 passengers) and have no interest in megaships. Summit was right on the upper limit of our preferred ship size and passenger capacity.
We found a nice ...
Flew into FLL and took an Uber to the Mandarin Oriental and had a perfect one-night pre-cruise stay with a fabulous meal outside at Rusty Pelican. Easy Uber ride to the port around 1230pm with no lines whatsoever. I was booked in an Aqua Sky Suite that I got a decent deal on and was very excited about the giant balcony. I filled out a pre-cruise request for some various fitness items which never ...
