This was our fourth cruise on the Summit, of which three have been one week cruises roundtrip from Bayonne to Bermuda. We are Celebrity regulars, with multiple trips on Solstice-class ships and a recent cruise on the Beyond. Other than the Summit, we have not cruised on the other Millennium-class ships, mainly because we prefer the space and amenities of the larger ships. But we wanted a quick ...
We stayed in Manhattan for three nights prior to boarding the cruise. I found it difficult to find information on how to best get to the port, but definitely have a car service get you there. This was the fastest boarding we have had in 21 cruises, which was a really nice start to the cruise. Once on board we went to our room to drop off our carry on luggage, our room keys were on the door. ...
This is going to be an exhaustive review with what would seem to be primarily pointing out the negatives, but overall, we did enjoy our first Celebrity cruise with Summit. For those that have never sailed this ship or with the company itself, I am going to provide as many helpful viewpoints as I can.
To begin with, I am an experienced cruiser. Have done many cruises with Royal Caribbean and ...
Bermuda is a beautiful place to visit and cruising there made things even better. We love being able to unpack in our cabin and stay in one place but still seeing various sites. Downtown Hamilton was busy with tourists shopping and sightseeing. Saint George was a good place to walk and see a bit of Bermuda history. Royal Dockyard was okay - not much to do. Onboard, we could enjoy delicious food in ...
We took this cruise because its itinerary was different. Martha's Vineyard, Bermuda and Charleston. Unfortunately we had two rough days at sea. When we left Martha's Vineyard and when we left Charleston we had very rough seas and it was difficult to keep your balance while walking on the ship. Also the entertainment left something to be desired. We don't like magicians and hypnotist. We had ...

The matra d came over to us and asked if we would like to dine together! Everything was just so much fun and friendly! Food was great! Our solo table was so much fun!waiter and all was wonderful. I chose the Celebrity Summit out of Bayonne because of the itinerary(Rhode Island, Martha's Vineyard, Charleston, and 2 days in Bermuda). I live in New York and I love sailing out of Bayonne. This was my second sailing with a celebrity(the first was on Beyond), I knew this was an older ship so my expectations were limited. I couldn't book my usual balcony so I was a little concerned about being in ...
We chose cruise because son and family had week off, requested us to join him and it was no fly for us, We made our reservations a couple of months before sailing date and were unable to secure early dining so relegated to anytime dining. And they would not take reservations so scheduling dinner each night with a 3 year old was a major annoyance. But we never had to wait more than 15 minutes. ...
Our 9 day cruise was much better then expected. We chose Summit because of the ports and we can drive to the terminal.
Embarkation- We arrived at the terminal around 11:30 for our noon boarding time, scanned boarding pass then walked onto the ship. The process took under 10 minutes.
Dining- We ate in the MDR 7 nights and the experience was very good. The food was well ...
We like to have relaxing days at sea on a ship with a good outdoor promenade - preferably one that accommodates deck chairs - where we can contemplate the sea, watch for flying fish and be mesmerized by the bow making swirling, foamy waves as it plows through the blue water. We don't care about flashy shows in the theater or trivia games or 'white nights' with pulsating beats on the pool deck. We ...
