This was my dream cruise for 17 years not knowing it was even a luxury cruise. Then, my dream came true as of this past cruise. The double handicap interior stateroom was the most beautiful and largest stateroom in the interior category (get it before they do a complete makeover in 2019)...plus, we had our own padded headboards (per bed) unlike many other cruise lines. Thelma, our room stewardess was so wonderful and underrated...she deserves to be a butler someday. she made sure that everything was absolutely perfect. As for the food in the main dining room, the food was so excellent...I just had to get a recipe or two. The spa café was nothing but perfect and the buffet was decent (except for afternoon tea when the food was excellent every single time). The specialty dinning was excellent but Tuscan Grille and a Taste of Film were the best out of all of them. Tuscan Grille made me feel like I was in Italy without having to go there. Taste of Film was spot on...I saw Chef and they made their own twist on dishes from the film. As for the Spa and Fitness center there, I have been to better places than that except for their indoor spa pool but maybe next year when they do the ship over I will fully utilize it. The indoor and outdoor pools were amazing. You just have to see any of their shows but most especially..."Chandelier" where they do a good show within the whole nine yards including aerobatics. Of course, I did plenty of shopping during this past cruise but St Martin is the best place to shop for duty free alcohol and liquor. The Cruise Critic event at the casino was spot on despite not winning anything but I had a great time...the casino on this ship's pay out was decent but not as much as the main land casinos. As for the shore excursions, we did everything from the cruise line. In St Martin, we did the St Martin Beach Rendezvous as our first shore excursion. We had a wonderful tour guide and she showed us the entire Dutch side of the island. After that, we went to Simpson's Bay Beach that had nearly crystal blue waters except for the seaweed. The tour included a tour of the Dutch side of the island, a welcome drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) fruit punch, beach chairs (umbrellas were only $4 extra), authentic food with either an alcoholic or non alcoholic drink and an extra tour with transportation back to the ship. I was upset that Kon Tiki boat tour was undersold but at least my roommate was getting a little better. She wanted to do Magen's Bay but if we did it outside of the cruise line, we would had to pay more money and so we did the Magen's Beach Getaway in St Thomas instead. We had a tour and then we went to the beach before going back to the ship. As for the grand finale shore excursion for this cruise in San Juan which also included transportation to the airport, we had a wonderful tour guide named Hugo and he gave us a basic tour of San Juan before our Bacardi Factory Tour. Plus, we had a blast throughout our time in San Juan. Would I recommend this cruise to anyone? Yes. This cruise has great value. You will be well fed. You will be well entertained. You will end up shopping until your drop. You will be well traveled (depending on which shore excursion you pick). But would I go on this cruise again? Maybe. Read Less

Ship is showing its age in places. Food is very good as are most of the staff. Would not pay full price for this ship. Embarkation on port days was awful due to insufficient and rude staff at security stations. Cruise director Patrick is not funny at all. Very few activities on board. Paper airplane contests. Same music repeated all day every day for the entire 8 night cruise. Lounge chairs around pool deck are quite old and many are very dirty. Chairs in the Oceanview Cafe at the back are worn out totally. Not a luxury look at all. Chris Hawks a singer on board was just amazing. The production shows were the best we have ever seen on any cruise. Hours go by with very little going on. Very personable captain who interacted with guests more than most. Some dining room meals were average and cold when served. Read Less

We had an incredible time with Celebrity on our Caribbean cruise. We started in Puerto Rico, going to St Thomas St John, St Maartin, Bermuda, then back to NJ (where we live), so we only had to take one flight, which was handy. From start to finish, we had a great time with the exceptional service of the staff, beautiful ship, and tasty food and drinks. I'm a vegetarian, so I'm always a bit worried about what I'll be able to eat, but there were delicious options for every meal and both my husband and I loved it all. Dinners were our favorite as we had our sommelier Raul providing great recommendations on the wine for the night and our waiter Marvin suggesting foods we would like based on our previous meals, nailing it every time. We are already looking int our next cruise with Celebrity; I would recommend them to anyone looking to try a cruise! Read Less

Primarily decided upon this cruise due to the itinerary as it stopped at 5 different Caribbean Islands that both myself and sister wanted to go to; Barbados, St Lucia, St Marteen, St Kitts and St Thomas. Acceptable points: 1. Larger cabins that Royal Caribbean cruise ships 2. Nice and friendly cabin boy 3. Best place on the ship - outdoor cinema (except during the rain of course) 4. In some cases longer in-port time (apparently) 5. The Captain's thoughts of the day / proverbs were a nice touch (the shirt and sweet announcements) Very disappointing aspects: 1. The food on the ship was awful! I was so shocked and surprised by this...everything was over salted or over-sugared. I spoke with other guests on other Celebrity cruise ships on the different islands who said the same thing. Whilst Americans are obviously the highest proportion of guests not everyone wants super high fat, salty, sugary food. 2. Most of the staff on the ship were miserable - especially on the first day (turn around) everyone looked super tired and fed up 3. I never got an email from Celebrity about the Novo virus outbreak before we got on the ship. This meant that the staff had to serve us food and the set up by the F&B manager clearly had not been thought out properly as you had to cue to get a cube of butter, stand in another cue to get a hot/cold drink, stand in another cue to get some toast, then another to get knife and forks - so the whole procedure was crazy and super long 4. The entertainment was dull. The PA/Compere could not sing (and was painful when he did). I have seen better quality shows at UK holiday camps like Butlins and Pontins when I was a kid. 5. The drinks/coffees / optional extras/drinks package were over priced 6. The trips were over priced 7. The ship was old and even though it had a refurb it was still old and tired 8. The 'dining' room was a total waste of time. Almost the same food as they had in the cafe, with slow service and snall over salted portions. Read Less
