Something strange with this ship - some good, some bad.

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Celebrity Summit

The summit has a great overall look, until you look closely. There were a lot of smaller issues that appeared to have been overlooked, resulting in a not so great overall experience. The food was a highlight, with great food and service in the main dinning room (Cosmopolitan Restaurant). The concierge staff, guest services staff, shop staff, and casino staff were all fantastic. The live music was ...

Ship needs some Love….Quickly

We chose this ship for 2 reasons. One was because it was our first Celebrity cruise and two, we wanted to visit Key West. I kept hearing great things about Celebrity, so I figured to give it a try. We’ve been on many different lines, so we had a lot to compare certain things to. The not so good… First thing to say is the ship is old and is in need of some attention in many places. Rust is ...

Now that we are both retired, my wife and I have resumed cruising and as part of that we decided to try a few more of the main-stream lines we had not sailed before. We prefer small to medium size ships (about 100,000 GT or less with under 2,000 passengers) and have no interest in megaships. Summit was right on the upper limit of our preferred ship size and passenger capacity. We found a nice ...

Surprising disappointments

We'd been sooo looking forward to this cruise cuz of the entertainment, "Fingers Felder" headlining, lotsa others like Moody Blues John Lodge & Jon Davison (John Jr I called him), The Orchestra dong ELO, etc. Those 3 were great, but not as easy to meet & greet AS HOPED. You pay a lotta $$$ to see these stars. Queen Nation was wonderful to hear & also to get autographs & pics with, John Lodge did ...

Chose Celebrity because I had always heard how wonderful they were and we were looking for a quick getaway. The moment we entered our cabin we noticed a horrible odor coming from the bathroom. We assumed it would subside, but it did not. It literally made us sick to our stomachs. We thought about changing to another stateroom, but I smelled the same odor in one of the public restrooms as well and ...

Tired Ship with average food for a premium price

I have cruised with six other cruise lines in years past and have found Celebrity to be the best choice. There was a specialness, attention, variety, great food and interesting venues on their ships. Perhaps some of my disappointment with this Bahama cruise stems from the Covid19 issue, but that still does not excuse the present short comings, I experienced. The inconsistencies began with the ...

We were very excited to go on our first Celebrity ship. As we celebrated our Anniversary this ship is most definitely relaxing. If you're looking for a party cruise, this is not it. As we walked into the ship we were welcomed with Champagne and Mimosas which was very nice. The ship is beautiful especially the Atrium. We had an inside cabin and it was very spacious and clean. The only problem we ...

It was to be our second Celebrity cruise; the first being on the Reflection a year ago. We loved the Celebrity experience and despite being Platinum on another line, we decided to jump ship to Celebrity. The amenities, food, service, decor, other passengers, activities, etc. really sold us on Celebrity. We knew going into our cruise on the Summit that some things would be different due to the ...

We were staying in FL, and this short cruise seemed like a good and fun way to get to Key West for the day. But my husband and I are used to higher end, smaller ships, so this was not what we were used to. And we also prefer all-inclusive cruises, so this was the first time we experienced this type of "nickel and diming". If this was the only cruise line we had been on, it probably would have been ...

Nice Jan getaway - but I see cost cutting

Good to get away in Jan for 5 days to Key West and Bahamas. Key West was much better as Nassau had 6 cruise ships in port. What a zoo it was. Did not walk around town because you almost couldn't. Not Celebrity fault of course, just bad timing. Took a tour in a mini bus to some of the highlights of Nassau and it was not well planned. Driver asked us IF we wanted to go to a restaurant for lunch, a ...
