We decided on Celebrity Summit because we wanted a higher end cruise with fewer children. We decided to go Suite Class and it was worth every penny. From the time we arrived at Port to the time we left, we were treated first class. We got to bypass all the lines and had a personal Butler and Concerige that were so awesome and helpful. Everyone on the ship knows what customer service is all about. We ate at Luminae since that was our Suite restaurant but if we wanted something not on the menu they prepared it for us. Their waiters are phenomal. Stay away from OceanView Cafe bc it's pure chaos and buffet type food. Our suite was beautiful and we enjoyed the balcony. The Butler would bring us coffee out on the balcony every morning and afternoon appetizers. It was nice having space. Our excursion to the Dolphin Cay was spectacular. Pay the additional money. You won't be disappointed. You are treated as VIP and again everyone on that ship was so helpful! Also being part of suite class meant we had a private tour of the Bridge and Helicopter Pad which is the foremost of the ship. This was our first cruise and we were blown away by the service. P.S. it was for my mom's birthday and our Butler Rikki and Consceige Adriana decorated the room, had sparkling cider, flowers and small cake for us when we came back on shore. Read Less

I chose the cruise for the itinerary; just good fortune that it was on the Summit. Four nights, 2 stops: Bahamas and Key West. I really wanted to go to Key West; Bahamas I've been to before. Key West is, in a word, Bohemian. Colorful, shop after shop, restaurants galore of various quality with historic places of interest and museums here and there. Interesting characters hanging about (one definitely had the pirate thing going one). The highlight for me was the Hemingway House. I learned quite a bit about Hemingway from a really excellent docent. Small souvenir shop but had nice choice of items. If you fancy felines, Hemingway's cats are there for photo ops and a quick pet (54 of them!) Be warned that Key West is a tourist trap: a mix of typical Caribbean stuff, high end cosmetics and jewelry, arts stores, etc. Folks on bicycles everywhere. The first thing I noticed once off the ship was the smell .... not a good smell either. The place needs a good cleaning (garbage laying about) ... quaint colorful small homes, old churches & B&B's but the rundown buildings diminished the allure for me. I'd like to see the night life there. Bottom line: I'll go back for a day trip or overnight, but wouldn't want to spend extended time there (I'll be back in 2020!) Entertainment on the cruise was great! The house cast was very good. The singing trio Uptown was excellent (sang Motown songs!), and a fellow named Chris Hawks was impressive with his guitar and voice. I hope I see Uptown & Chris on a future cruise! Blu was great, as usual. Service equally excellent ... Something about the Summit ... I always have a great time on the Summit! Read Less

We were informed from a co-worker about Celebrity Cruises (which we'd never hear of) and after talking we decided to give it a go. The atmosphere was very relaxing, there were employees everywhere and would assist in any questions that we had. When we had an issue with the shower not getting hot water, our room attendant had maintenance there and they swapped out the shower faucet while we were out enjoying the sun. We had no clue that they were going to swap the faucet, just that they were going to check on it. It was very nice to come back to the room and suddenly have hot (not warm) water. My wife has Celiacs and the availability and marking of which foods were Gluten Free was exceptional. My wifes only complaint was that there weren't as many Gluten Free Pastries. Overall, as stated, it was very relaxing and were pampered at every turn. That's why we booked another cruise with Celebrity shortly after getting home. Read Less

Chose this as a short getaway break from the winter and cold. The Nassau stop was not important and we were only off the ship for a short time. Key West is always fun and we have friends there. Having been on the Infinity for a Panama cruise I already knew I would like the layout and size of Summit and I was not disappointed. Nice group of cruisers mostly our age and very few children on board made for a relaxing cruise and the ability to actually get near and in the pool. The food was quite good and we liked the spa food for lunch. The cafeteria never felt crazy crowded on this ship. There is a nice balance of size of public spaces vs. passegers. The fastest embarkation and debarkation we had ever experienced. I don’t know how they do it! Painless. The staff were attentive and our room was kept spotless. We had a forward cabin with the deeper balcony. It was smaller than I typically book but just right for this short cruise. The balcony is nice because there is shade and sun. My favorite spot is definitely the Sunset Bar before dinner. Never crowded and I think some people just never “find it.” The pool area is nicely laid out and I noticed very few chair hogs plus I did see the pool staff remove some towels that were placed and abandoned. The entertainment on this ship was especially good. All in all it was a very short cruise but one of my favorites! I am sure there will be another Celebtity cruise in my future. Read Less

Was a little hesitant to book this cruise based on some of the negative reviews regarding the condition of the ship. Well, don't worry. The ship is in great shape. Of course some of the furniture could be replaced. Specifically in the buffet. It looks like they didn't update that in the last drydock. But by no means is the ship looking old and dingy. The staff was by far some of the best that we have seen. Always upbeat and they always make a point to acknowledge guests in passing. Its a pleasure to see the crew take such initiative. Thats what sets Celebrity apart from the other mainstream lines. They are a step above. Constantly cleaning and making sure our needs are met. The food was really good. We had an aquaclass balcony but ate in the main dining room a few times and have no complaints. Good variety in the buffets and lots of made to order offerings. Read Less

Cruised on the Celebrity Summit 14 months ago. It was a very good experience. I do not know what has happened but, if this one was our first cruise. We would never have cruised again. Easter weekend, 2018, this was our 60th cruise. Not with Celebrity. We are priority and it might as well been our first boarding. Entered the building a few min. after 12 noon. No priority line when you walk in. You are with everyone. All cruisers. After the luggage scan. Back in line. They had priority and non-priority. You would never think that it was that way. Both had as many in line waiting. Once you finally were entered in the system. They had to go somewhere to get your boarding pass “Room key “It took almost an hour from entering the building to getting onboard. Mind you, this is a very small ship. 2100 guests. Two months ago getting on RCCL Harmony, it took no more than 20 min. tops. Very fast boarding and super fast debarkation. Not on this ship. We were told it was because the ship was docked at a location for a smaller ship. This is a small ship! Finally on board, it was now after 1:00PM, usually by this time all the state rooms are ready. We went to ours and got kicked out in a jiffy. All the plumbing was shut down. My wife needed it and needless to say she was very worried. We were on the bottom deck near the aft section. Come to find out, only one men’s room and one ladies room were working. Top deck, front of the ship. You can imagine the line. Plumbing was fixed 3 hrs. later. Just before getting underway. A sigh of relief from everyone. I will try to make the rest as short as possible. The shows were boring. Over and over the same thing both days. Very repetitious. Singers were average to poor. Dancers were almost in sync. Food, never hot, warm at the best. The ship was super ice cold. Your food got colder very fast. Many wearing jackets and sweaters. I asked why is it so cold. The response was. You are the first person ever to say that. (Ya Right) Did not do the dining rooms or specialty restaurants. Buffet deck 10, food every day was almost the exact same. I must say. The burgers were excellent and so were the fry’s. Far better than Guys’ on Carnival. Guess what I was eating. Pasta section was also great. Nassau to Key West. Never go to Key West as the last port. Once before we did it and it went fine. Customs in Key West. No Customs in Ft. Lauderdale. Not this time. Early morning in Key West we had to do Customs. If not a $3000.00 fine. Staying on or getting off. No matter. Guess what, debarkation in Ft. Lauderdale. Customs again. Both times all they did was look at your Passport picture and you and say Okay. Nothing else. What a joke. The ship itself was well kept, our state room was also. However the bed was like a rock. So if you want to sit and read. It was a great cruise for you. So glad we know what great cruises are like. Just not this one. Guess we are lucky to hit only one bad one out of sixty. Looking forward to the nest. Booked on the Celebrity EDGE for next year. I needed to get out of town for a couple of days and this cruise was the perfect opportunity to enjoy a couple of nights of spoiled adventure. I chose the Royal Suite, however, I was upgraded to the Penthouse suite the night before the cruise. Amazing! The room was absolutely everything I could hope for. Lots of space and room to relax, the balcony was 1000 square feet with a bath tub. We docked in Nassau, however, we stayed on the ship and ordered room service and enjoyed the automatic player on the piano. The scenery and atmosphere of the room was absolutely perfect. The cabins steward and the butler were right on top of things and they really treated us special. The shoreside team had all our goodies waiting for us when we arrived. The butler came and got us from Michaels club when our room was ready, a very nice touch! The ship was clean and well laid out. There wasn't a lot of time to do everything, but, the stand up comedy was funny, the casino was busy and the music was excellent. Tuscan Grille was one of the best dinners of my life, the steak was amazing! Qsuine was pretty good, but I wish I would have went to Luminae instead. Luminae for breakfast was simply stunning. Our FIRST cruise. Wonderful cruise ship. Food was excellent. Suite was excellent. Chip our butler was amazing. Service was perfect. Ship does move...yes you can feel it back and forth at times. We had no problems with any seasickness. Shows were decent. Comedian had been on Beverly Hills 90210 and other tv shows. Sit in the front for interaction. There's plenty of seating. Suite guests get free alcohol and pop in one lounge without drink package. Big issue - our balcony sliding door popped loudly the second night, over and over again as the ship rocked. I really needed sleep and got very little. I hope this can be fixed. If it were a longer cruise, I don't know how I'd survive. Casino is small and has no Texas holdem poker table or room. But it does have craps! Pool was cold. Too cold to swim in. Art auction was for very expensive pieces only, like $20,000 pieces. Would love to see less-expensive Giclees in the hundreds. Do NOT bring a power strip. Your bag will get flagged and sent to security. You will have to check room phone messages to find this out or walk around wondering where your bag is as your butler will not know. We figured it out after a while. Muster Drill was extremely long, lame, and boring. Better organization might help, but Im guessing many cruisers were too lazy to get to where they should be, making those of us who followed rules wait. Many young female cruisers thought they were above the rules and continued to talk on cell phones during the drill. No surprise there. Nassau sucks. I don't know why so many people cruise on ships that go there. You won't go to the forts, they are in ghettos. We saw the courthouse. The library was closed. Junkanoo beach was run down, dirty, and small. We walked off the main drag on our own to find the Queen's Staircase, and feared for our lives. Two blocks off the main drag looked like a bomb went off, trash and debris everywhere, boarded up and open houses worse than Flint, Michigan, the area we are from. Two Bahamians were yelling at the manager in McDonalds. One was walking behind me yelling. Cruise ships should try other ports in the Bahamas, but business must be good there. I don't know why. Stay away from Nassau. Upon disembarkation, had to wait in a VERY LONG LINE. NO special line for suite guests to get off the boat. Customs was very backed up. Asked customs agent if suite guests had to wait in line, and they let us through the global express line. Worked out well as our flight was leaving and if we had had to wait in the customs line, we might have missed it. Make sure your return flight home is well after noon to be safe. Also on the last day - go ahead and sleep in and check out late. It's better than waiting in line Im sure. Read Less

We were very excited to go on our first Celebrity ship. As we celebrated our Anniversary this ship is most definitely relaxing. If you're looking for a party cruise, this is not it. As we walked into the ship we were welcomed with Champagne and Mimosas which was very nice. The ship is beautiful especially the Atrium. We had an inside cabin and it was very spacious and clean. The only problem we had in the cabin was when we got to Nassau, because we were on deck 2 we smelled the fumes when the ship docked? We've stayed on lower decks before and never smelled anything like that. The food was good in the buffet area, not too many options and the buffet closed at 9 pm. I get that the pizza area stayed opened late, however the pizza that was out was very cold. I liked the fact that we had an ice cream station that you can add toppings which was nice. Our first dinner we went to the main dining room and the food was not that great and the service was very slow and we sat next to some elderly ladies that complained and argued with the staff throughout our dinner and this made it very uncomfortable so we decided not to go back on the second night. Since the buffet didn't have too many options such as the desert area we only had cupcakes with all types of different frosting. We've never seen a buffet with only Cupcakes as a dessert option so on our second night we went to the coffee shop where we had plenty of desert options and it's FREE (the Raspberry cheesecake was very good). The roof top offered even more of a relaxing setting and we got to watch movies. The comedian was very good and I'm glad that we at least had that as entertainment option. The one show that they had on the first night was just okay. The Wi-Fi is very expensive and this was a 2 night cruise. This ship is also not that great for Kids. The arcade was very small with about 5 games and we didn't see too many kids on board anyway. I wouldn't go back on the Summit but I am looking forward to out next cruise with Celebrity. Read Less

I picked this cruise to be able to explore a new cruise line; after getting disappointed by a lack of service on another trip, I wanted a short vacation in case things didn't live up to expectations. But by the end of the weekend, I was wishing that the trip was much longer; it was a wonderful vacation. The Summit is a beautiful ship, and just the size that I like. The main stairwell was beautiful and dramatic, especially when they added drapes for photos on Evening Chic night. The pool areas (family and Solarium) were beautiful; the adults-only Thalassotherapy pool and hot tubs were especially relaxing. I purchased a pass for the Persian Garden in the spa; it was a nice way to end time in the Thalassotherapy pool. I enjoyed the aromatherapy room and Turkish bath, although I missed having heated lounges by a huge window like on other ships. The rooftop terrace at the back of the ship was wonderful; when movies weren't playing, they had calming views of beaches or underwater scenes. While it was lovely, the Summit is definitely not new. Even with a refit in 2012 and Solstice-izing in 2016, its age shows in places: cracked granite on a vanity, rusted screw heads popping through walls in the bathroom, stains on the bed skirts, carpet falling off the stairs. Little things that will happen on any old ship. Keeping up the public areas seemed to be a higher priority than the cabins. The majority of the ship was very nicely decorated, with the exception of the creepy, glitter-covered busts in the mid-ship stairwell. The only real complaint I have about the ship's features was the lack of a promenade. There was a walking/jogging track above the pool, but it's a very small loop. A trip up the stairs to the rooftop terrace would make a lap a little longer, but still. A promenade seems like such a key feature for a cruise ship. Embarkation at Port Everglades was so simple. We arrived at ~11:15a (had to check out of the hotel at 11). Bags were immediately taken by porters and we went in to the relatively short lines for the metal detectors. After that, we headed to check in. Concierge Class has its own line and we met our concierge, Ann, while waiting. We also got invitations to a Concierge Class lunch in the dining room that day. After checking in, it was a quick line to the ship (some passengers from the previous voyage were still getting off!) and we were onboard by ~11:45. Champagne and mimosas were offered as you entered the main lobby on Deck 3 (there was a lot of free alcohol offered all over the ship during the cruise). The only negative - my bag's luggage tag got ripped off somewhere along the line (the tags sent by Celebrity weren't very sturdy) so I didn't get my bag until late that night. I had to go down to guest services, and there was a big stack of unclaimed/untagged bags, so I wasn't alone. The crew was exceptional and easily the best part of the trip. My expectations had been lowered by other cruise lines, so I was very happy to find that service isn't a lost art. The crew genuinely seemed to want to make sure everyone had a good vacation. I've never been on another ship where the officers did so much to interact with the guests. Crew v. Guests game shows and pool volleyball, a meet and greet sail away party... And it wasn't just the activities manager or the cruise director - HR, marketing, financial, etc. It was great to have faces to recognize and acknowledge all the work being done to keep the ship running smoothly. Everyone on the crew was always quick with a smile and 'good morning' or 'hello' and it seemingly became contagious, as guests would often greet each other, too. Captain Alex's PA-system announcements were very funny. Sarah, the CelebrityLife activities manager, was fantastic and hilarious at every event (even as she lost her voice). Dragica, a hostess at the Cosmopolitan restaurant (main dining room), was one of the first crewmembers we met onboard while making a reservation and she always remembered us every night at dinner. Sherwin, our waiter for the last 2 nights, always gave great recommendations from the menu, as well as advice about the ship (like the best place for breakfast on disembarkation day). He remembered both people and preferences from one night to the next, something that some other lines don't bother to do. The food was almost all fantastic. Breakfast at the main dining room was the only thing that wasn't very good. (Edible, but not worth repeating). Dinner at Qsine was outstanding; will definitely go back on future cruises. Dinners in the main dining room were also very good, with a lot of variety. Normally, the Lido deck on a cruise ship is a mad house, but Summit's Oceanview Cafe had ample seating, even at noon on a at-sea day! It also had great views and good food. The poolside grill had great burgers and it was nice to be able to do your own toppings (grilled onions, bacon, mushrooms, lettuce, tomatoes, etc.) Afternoon tea was lovely, although it would have been nice to get real tea cups instead of coffee mugs (tiny nit). I didn't try the other specialty restaurants or room service. In my opinion, it was worth it to pay a little extra for Concierge Class (the difference was small for such a short cruise). Having someone to answer questions and run down problems (like a missing suitcase) was very helpful. The invitation-only sail away party on the helicopter pad at the bow was fun and unique. The complimentary bag was very useful for the pool and will continue to be useful at home. It was also nice to have the lounge/library nearby and the room location was great. As for the itinerary, I was very interested in Key West, but had been to Nassau before (I liked having a day to explore the ship with less people around and take advantage of in-port deals). Key West was as nice as expected and I'd like to go back again sometime. The Conch Train tour was a great way to see the Old Town (though I imagine the open-air trolley would be very hot in the summer). For the at sea day, I decided to purchase a 24-hour internet package (I had some OBC to burn). The speed was pretty good, maybe a little slower than 3G. One purchase could be shared by multiple devices, but only one device at a time. This was great if you had a phone and a tablet or multiple people. I also went on the galley tour during the at sea day; it was really interesting to see how they prepare so many dishes for the various restaurants. It was also amazing how much they use technology/analytics to reduce food waste and ensure they have the right kinds of food onboard based on the passenger demographics. One weird thing about the trip was that scheduled music performances kept not happening. One night, a piano performance was cancelled because they couldn't find a key to unlock the piano. Another night, a jazz performance just didn't happen (no musicians after 15-20 minutes). I'm not sure what was going on (or if the daily schedule listed the wrong location). We chose walk-off disembarkation, since we each just had 1 small suitcase. We cleared customs at 7am - 30 minutes early and while still finishing breakfast. So there was a bit of a scramble to go get our bags and get going. But the process was extremely smooth: take the elevator to Deck 3 and walk right off. Customs took a couple minutes, taxis were waiting outside, and we were at Ft. Lauderdale Airport by 7:30am. Overall, it was a fantastic trip, and I would definitely sail on Celebrity again. Read Less

We were staying in FL, and this short cruise seemed like a good and fun way to get to Key West for the day. But my husband and I are used to higher end, smaller ships, so this was not what we were used to. And we also prefer all-inclusive cruises, so this was the first time we experienced this type of "nickel and diming". If this was the only cruise line we had been on, it probably would have been better for us. But it's hard not to compare, and compare we did. It looked like a lot of people were having a great time, so this is a personal preference. The ship itself is very nice, but we found our stateroom with verandah too small. Also, although we did not eat in any specialty restaurants, we thought the food in general was just mediocre. And that includes desserts, which my husband generally loves. So he was especially disappointed with that. Re: the staterooms, we were on the concierge floor. There was one overworked (very nice) concierge on that floor, and most of the times there was a very long wait if you wanted to ask her something. There was also a designated phone line where they were pretty responsive if you had a question. We had purchase a "premier beverage" package, but were very surprised when we had no water (that wasn't a charge for us) provided for usin our mini refrigerator. We had to "purchase" a bottle and bring it back to the room. I also did not care for the fact that there was a shower curtain, not a shower door in the bathroom. The storage space in that small bathroom was pretty good. Our room attendant was very nice and helpful. Re: the food, we thought the buffet (where we went for our breakfasts and a few casual dinners) was way to long and unwieldy. One had to walk quite a long distance to get to the omelette station, and many people didn't even know it existed. There was also sporadic help for people (getting coffee or answering questions) at the buffet, but it needed to be more consistent. One morning, the food was cold, and it appeared the burners were not on high enough. The response from the manager was good. We did find the necessity of showing our "premium" cards every time we wanted a water or drink (even orange juice) was annoying and arduous. Showing one card should have been enough if we wanted two drinks, as our accounts were linked, but every time we wanted a drink each, we had to drag out our cards. We are not use to this. There also should have been more hand sanitizers in a ship that size. Boarding and disembarkation was smooth and most of the people working there were nice and helpful. It was tough to get a seat by the pool or the spa area (which was away from the loud music and spring-breakers by the pool). But this is usually the way on any cruise ship, especially a day at sea. This is a review more so of Entertainment Cruise Productions who chartered Celebrity Summit for a jazz cruise out of Ft Lauderdale. It was the inaugural sailing of Blue Note At Sea - a famed jazz recording label responsible for launching jazz legends such as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Van Morrison, Nora Jones and so many more. The line up on the cruise was the elite of contemporary jazz artists including no less than 10 Grammy Award winners and a boatload of the genre's finest. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. WOW!! ...Not quite household names, but music that moves the soul and many of the artists you'll find in the credits of Oscar winning movies, Broadway shows and A-List collaborators. Not your standard on board entertainment - which is the major drawcard for those who don't generally subscribe to cruising. This was Jazz Concentrate... a festival of soul, funk, jazz and beyond. All-you-can-take music of the highest order. Entertainment Cruise Productions headed up by jazz enthusiast Michael Lazaroff are the indisputable specialists in packaging jazz at sea, and this sailing was nothing short of exceptional. Ports of call were ok - Nassau, San Juan, Samana, Labadee... however I am guilty of staying on the ship to catch more music well into the small hours of the night. Artists such as Marcus Miller, Gregory Porter, Terence Blanchard, Robert Glasper, Dianne Reeves Chucho Valdes, David Sanborn, Joshua Redman, The Bad Plus, Lalah Hathaway, Grace Kelly, Natalie Williams and so many more rocked the boat - and 3000 music loving passengers! I'm still buzzing! If you're a serious music lover, and like the idea of cruising the Bahamas on board a luxury vessel with like-minded travellers, then book Blue Note At Sea 2018. Entertainment Cruise Productions also produce The Smooth Jazz Cruise and The Jazz Cruise. I've spoken to many passengers who were on board both of the 2017 sailings, and were equally wowed by the entertainment and calibre of talent. The cost of putting an A-List line up to sea, coupled with increased production and specialised enrichment events is huge, so for the value, you have to forgive a few lackings with the ship itself. The great thing about Celebrity Summit is its 5 amazing venues for the music. The food is good, the staff and service, good... the cabins... good enough. But you're there for the music and the music will keep you on a high until you book your next fix - 3 incredible jazz cruises for Jan - Feb 2018. Blue Note At Sea was the most life-affirming musical experience. If you decide to give yourself the greatest gift and book, you'll come home with a suitcase full of incredible memories and a long list of new friends for future travel. I have nothing to do with this company - I am just a very enthusiastic jazz fan, (with tears welling in many of the performances from the sheer joy of such sublime music). This cruise delivered the experience of a lifetime. Blue Note At Sea was PHENOMENAL. Read Less

Good price for a short cruise. Had never been to Key West/Bahamas so wanted this experience. The room attendant was very attentive. There was a shortage of wooden hangars and we were not given any additional ones. Really enjoyed the therapy pool every afternoon. But there was a shortage of towels at the pool every afternoon. The food in Blu was excellent in the evening. Did not eat breakfast there, however. The wait staff and maître d knew our names from day one. The drink service staff was understaffed through out the ship, except at the Blu. Obtained our own soft drinks and water at the bar most of the time. Entertainment was above average (comparable to our experience on Solstice). Even though Summit is an older ship, it is in good shape and public areas were clean and comfortable. We would sail on Summit again based on this experience. Excursion in Key West (Trolley) was well worth the money. Coco Cay was a fun adventure and loved the beach area. The Essentials Nassau (bus tour) was too commercial (two long stops at Atlantis, rum factory, rum cake store). Only included one historical stop (fort). All in all, it was a very pleasant cruise and we would recommend this trip and the Summit. Read Less

Good to get away in Jan for 5 days to Key West and Bahamas. Key West was much better as Nassau had 6 cruise ships in port. What a zoo it was. Did not walk around town because you almost couldn't. Not Celebrity fault of course, just bad timing. Took a tour in a mini bus to some of the highlights of Nassau and it was not well planned. Driver asked us IF we wanted to go to a restaurant for lunch, a no brainer as it was on the schedule, but majority of passengers said to skip it and go somewhere else. Tour lasted 45 minutes longer. Ship is showing its age in some areas and we did not feel it was worth the cost. BEST part is always BLU restaurant for the Aqua class passengers. Loved the food and the entire staff. Enjoyed the Persian Gardens with is part of the aqua class package. Martini bar always good and fun to watch. Entertainment was just OK and same old Broadway hits and comedian that was good. our 25th anniversary! we wanted to do it right so we spent about $2,300 dollars including airfare for 5 nights in a room with a window (not a balcony) so we were expecting awesomeness. NOT! i will start with the crew and captain. they were awesome, so sweet, so genuine. other positives were the premium drink package. it is awesome!! vitamin water, red bulls, Evian water in giant bottles(although they ran out of big bottles by day 4), tons of beers and premium spirits! the clubs are beautiful but we did not have any luck with the music except for motown night. they have a "silent disco" which was weird. you wear headphones to hear the music so basically it works if you are drunk, other than that, it is stupid. there was some live music here and there and it was ok but honestly, it was "Marty & Bobbi Culp classically trained singers". (just google Will Ferrell's marty culp SNL skit) the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. the toilet never really worked and actually the entire floors toilets malfunctioned for a few hours. was pretty smelly and gross. room stewards with masks, etc. getting on and off at the ports was easy and quick. cant say that about the disembark. there is no "express" disembark. they say there is, but there is not! the entire ship gets off 2 elevators at a time! had to be out of the room at 7am. YES 7 AM! that sucked! there is very little entertainment. 2 bingo games in 5 days, one comedian and no comedy club. One show with 2 times every night consisting of singing. no costumes, no sets, nothing exceptional just plain and frankly boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nothing you can not see at a local high school. the food! breakfast- not one item i ate was piping hot. items were cold or room temp. bread was stale and it got worse as the week went on. in contrast, the coffee which was mcdonald's hot, was so acidic, i visited the restroom 3 times in 1 hour that day. drank tea after that. lunch and dinner: hamburgers, turkey or veggie burgers by the pool or a buffet. the lunch and dinner buffet food is exactly the same every day. mediocre on day one and as the week went by, we noticed the food at the buffet tasted more and more like the food served days ago, because it was. they must never throw anything out. they just keep on adding to it. i had a stomach ache on day 4 and full blown by 5. i was not alone. you had to hold your nose as you walked through our hall. so was it something i ate or a bug? we will never know but i think it was something i ate. there is a homemade pizza place in the buffet at night. that was probably the freshest item we ever ate. ate twice in the big dining room. servers are awesome. food is boring and mass produced. nothing we ate was ever "Delicious". the desert tables were a joke. cake icing and the cake on every cake or cup cake had a stale crunch. cookies are cheap, mass produced and frankly not worth the calories. not one desert was "delicious". this cruise over priced! spoke with other mates who felt exactly the same! We were a church group. Best trip with 48 people. Everyone working on the ship was wonderful. Thank you for making great Memories. We are looking forward in making this a yearly trip. The service in the main dining room and then seeing our waters at breakfast. We felt like family. Everyone went out of their way to give excellent service. Our rooms were always taken care of and were so nice to help us with three in the room. We all were in aw at the Captain. Very much out there and very approachable. Love his announcements every day we looked forward to them. We were so surprised to see him saying goodbye as we left the ship. I have never seen that before. One of the most memorable times when 7 of us had dinner in the captains dining room at the Tuscan restaurant. What a beautiful presentation and great teats of a 7 course meal. Pared with wonderful wines. The fun we had at the Martini bar all the waters with their talents and very entertaining. Also the silent disco. I Love the concept and so much fun. We took a tour on blue Lagoon where we swam with Sea Lions. What a great experience. Thank You and looking forward in another cruse next year. Melody Read Less

Choose this cruise because it fit into our time schedule. Enjoyed the ship very much , we like smaller ships and we wanted to go to Key West one more time. Our cabin was very nice, we had an upgrade to Aqua class, the room was about the same size as we always get, except they bring some snacks everyday, and give you a bottle of wine when you get there. We were assigned to the Blu restaurant, but ate at the main dining room because we enjoy sitting with other people and hearing of there experience they had that day. We went for the open dining seating and had no problem getting a seat. Buffet was always stocked, never a shortage of food. Also the poolside grill was open for hours, and then there was another spot that was cooking up steaks, chops, and fish to order in the rear of the ship. Also excellent eating. Entertainment and activities kept us busy when we did not leave the ship. And nightly entertainment was also excellent, performers really work hard to please you. The service we had was great. Whether it be at our room, dining room, bars, theater. Bars were busy but there was not a long wait to get a drink. All in all we had a great time and will probably take this ship again. If not it will be another Celebrity cruise somewhere. Something for everyone no matter what age group you were in always something to do or just do nothing. Must say our stateroom attendant Erwin, was top notch. Room always made by 9 AM, and turned down when we got back at night. Always a smile, hello, can I get you anything, just great to work with him. Celebrity Review This was our 4th cruise and first time on a Celebrity ship. We´ve cruised Carnival, Holland America, and Silversea. Obviously we cannot compare Celebrity with Silversea, but for the price point we very much enjoyed the Celebrity Summit. Cabin and balcony were comfortable with plenty of space to store things. Maintained clean throughout our trip. We enjoyed the food, particularly the dinners in the main dining room. Very nice service and delicious food with good wine choices. We chose the celebrity select dining. We made dinner reservations nightly and never had to wait more than just a couple of minutes to be seated. We prefer to sit by ourselves, which we were able to do. Due to limited space, the tables for 2 are placed very close to each other. Whether or not we enjoyed a true dinner for 2 really depended on how sociable the people seated next to us were feeling. We had nice dinners both when we kept to ourselves, and when we felt as if we had a table with another couple. As we said, the service at dinner was great. There was 1 exception. My husband enjoys an after dinner drink while on vacation. A nice selection of after dinner drinks is included on the menu. He ordered one with desert each night, but it was hit or miss when, or even if, it would arrive. It sometimes appeared we ordered from the wrong person, however, this was never communicated clearly. Once we were told the assistant waiter was responsible for this. Anyway, we would have to ask for the drink multiple times. On the last evening we asked each of the 3 members of our wait team for this drink over a 15 minute period. We finished desert, then waited an additional 15 minutes. The drink never arrived, so we left. Not a huge complaint, but we weren´t making a special request, just ordering a drink from the menu. Don´t understand what the issue was. We liked the main areas of the ship. The indoor pool / solarium area is nice. The main pool is nice too, but the smoke bothered us after a while. The upper decks are quieter with beautiful views, but no pools, so it can get a little hot up there. Very pretty areas though. Only took advantage of 1 show, since we´re not very into the typical song and dance numbers. There was 1 magician. We enjoyed him, even though some of the special effects weren´t working during this performance. There was 1 comedian, and we accidentally missed this performance, which we were disappointed about. We loved the rooftop terrace and the outdoor movies. Lots of fun. There was drink service available up there during the movie. Very nice. There were some choices included as far as movies in the stateroom, and also a couple of news channels, which we enjoyed. Drink packages were worth purchasing. Embarkation and disembarkation were very smooth and easy. However the muster drill was the worst we´ve experienced. We stood indoors, in a hot & stuffy area, shoulder to shoulder, for at least 30 minutes before any information or instructions even began. These drills have always been pretty quick and easy for us on other cruises. Not sure what was going on - maybe it was just a bad day for them. We had a very nice vacation and thought the crew members were extremely friendly and professional. We would cruise with Celebrity again and would recommend this ship to others. Very nice Caribbean cruise. Read Less
