ALASKA CRUISETOUR JUNE 2006 REVIEW
INTRODUCTION -- After planning on an Alaska cruise for over a year, we finally came upon an announcement in the church bulletin offering an Alaskan Pilgrimage cruisetour, the very cruise we were hoping to take. We signed up with thirty other prospective pilgrim cruisers with a priest as our spiritual guide and after months of preparing for this, our prayers ...
Background: June 3 Summit NB from Vancouver was 3d AK cruise with X. Previously with X, the DW and I have noshed to Nassau, burped to Bermuda and punched thru the Caribbean. Like many, we were again drawn to this last outpost of the rugged individualist, an attitude aptly captured on a Tee shirt: Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms -- who's bringing the chips? And the AK guys are even tougher! I also ...

Summit Cruise to Alaska May 5, 2006
We. too, were on this cruise and had a wonderful relaxing time. The service, pampering and food were very special. It was just a wonderful time for us as a couple of reconnecting and celebrating 45 years of marriage.
The entertainment that we chose to attend was of very good quality.
While it was disappointing to not be able to see the Hubbard Glacier up ...
We are experienced cruisers but this was our first time on Celebrity. We flew into Anchorage the day prior to our cruise, but due to the length of flight and timing we did not arrive at the airport until 10:05 pm. Thus, we chose to stay at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott (3 miles from airport and with free 24 hour shuttle). We found the Fairfield to be very nice (appears to be brand new) and the ...
Overall an excellent and relaxing cruise. Great itinerary - Alaska and the West Coast in 14 days.
Summit is a beautiful ship! Although I don't care for modern "art" I did like the contemporary architecture and furnishings.
Public areas were spacious, well-kept and rarely crowded - also very light and open. The Thalassotherapy pool was a favorite with us - we went about 7:00pm and had the place ...
First cruise with Celebrity and extremely happy with the availability of spa and theatre seating. Fast room service, no matter what time of day, although we were slightly disappointed with the dining room food quality. Dining room wait staff, however, was very efficient.
Fast embarkation from Vancouver and no problem with obtaining luggage tags from porters at cruise ship terminal and basically ...
Our cruise on the Summit was sensational. Our room was really nice and had a balcony that we requested. It was fairly long and narrow but we could get around our king size bed! The service was top notch, from our stateroom attendant Nelson, to our waiters, Owen and Kusuma, to the assistant maitre d', Cecilita.
While the food in the main dining room was average, the presentation and the service ...
Hi All,
I'll try to just hit the highlights of our trip, but be prepared, once I get moving on something like this I can go on and on... A little background is in order. This is our (my wife and I) 4th cruise with Celebrity, 2nd to Alaska, 2nd cruise on Summit. The last time we went to Alaska we were on Celebrity's Galaxy and did the round trip from and to Vancouver. We didn't go on a land tour ...
This was our 10th cruise, second on Celebrity. This was the most friendly ship ever. Smooth getting on and off the ship, well done Celebrity. We booked this at the last moment as the price was just too good to let by.
The view of the Hubbard glacier is fantastic. The sounds of ice crashing down off of the glacier is impossible to describe. The ocean was very smooth for the complete trip.
CD is ...
