ALASKA INSIDE PASSAGE CRUISE: Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau, Icy Strait/Hoonah, Hubbard Glacier, and Seward. My husband and I chose to go on an Alaskan Cruise for our wedding anniversary. We tried to do something special each year for our anniversary. Choosing the Alaska Cruise was perfect. We flew from Hawaii to Vancouver, B.C. (which was our port of embarkation). The Summit is ...

When my husband, his Mom, and I decided more than a year ago to book a cruise to Alaska, we hadn't considered a land tour, but when our wise travel agent suggested it, we started reading and decided Tour 1 with Celebrity was doable for our budget. What a great decision that turned out to be! After a year of reading these boards and planning (and a miraculous last minute change due to availability ...

Summit Cruise to Alaska May 5, 2006 We. too, were on this cruise and had a wonderful relaxing time. The service, pampering and food were very special. It was just a wonderful time for us as a couple of reconnecting and celebrating 45 years of marriage. The entertainment that we chose to attend was of very good quality. While it was disappointing to not be able to see the Hubbard Glacier up ...

ALASKA CRUISETOUR JUNE 2006 REVIEW INTRODUCTION -- After planning on an Alaska cruise for over a year, we finally came upon an announcement in the church bulletin offering an Alaskan Pilgrimage cruisetour, the very cruise we were hoping to take. We signed up with thirty other prospective pilgrim cruisers with a priest as our spiritual guide and after months of preparing for this, our prayers ...

We took the land-cruise 13 day option from July 16 through July 29 on the Celebrity Summit. We started off in Fairbanks and the two excursions there were the Discovery Riverboat and the El Dorado mine. They were okay but nothing spectacular. We took the train to Denali on Tuesday and the only wildlife we saw was one moose in the distance. We did the Tundra Wilderness Tour at Denali and we saw ...

14 day turn around cruise (Vancouver/LA) Alaska and West Coast. This was our 4th celebrity cruise and 1st on Summit. Cabin 9101 was wonderful- close to elevators but quiet and Santana the room steward was amazing, he was better than the butler we had on our last cruise in a Sky Suite. All Concierge Class amenities were in place and refurbished as needed. We used laundry service several times on ...

Overall This was the trip of a lifetime! We've been wracking our brains to come up with something that's *not* positive and there is nothing coming to mind. We live in Portland, Oregon and this was our third cruise, second to Alaska and second time cruising with Celebrity. We decided on this trip to fly to Vancouver and arrived two days early to enjoy the sites and sounds of our favorite North ...

The following are our joint observations (authored by Rich, edited and annotated by Marlee) from the 14 day Summit cruise that concluded September 28. This was our third 14 night cruise on Summit over the past twelve months, which provided the ability to observe the ship's evolution over that period. The itinerary held many highlights, including a crystal clear day at Hubbard and another in San ...

First cruise with Celebrity and extremely happy with the availability of spa and theatre seating. Fast room service, no matter what time of day, although we were slightly disappointed with the dining room food quality. Dining room wait staff, however, was very efficient. Fast embarkation from Vancouver and no problem with obtaining luggage tags from porters at cruise ship terminal and basically ...

This was our 10th cruise, second on Celebrity. This was the most friendly ship ever. Smooth getting on and off the ship, well done Celebrity. We booked this at the last moment as the price was just too good to let by. The view of the Hubbard glacier is fantastic. The sounds of ice crashing down off of the glacier is impossible to describe. The ocean was very smooth for the complete trip. CD is ...
