I have cruised with Celebrity Cruise Lines for many cruises and this one ranks as the worst one ever. It started to go wrong on the second evening at dinner. Three people on my table had the lamb which came with shards of bone in each mouthful. The Maitre D was not bothered. The cruise became steadily worse. We were never offered coffee after dinner. In Lisbon the whole of my coach asked for the tour to be ended early by taking us back to the ship. I had always cruised on smaller lines, but could not find a small ship which would fit in with my travel dates. The ports were interesting and my husband and I wanted to try a bigger ship Unfortunately the ship although large does not have enough elevators, I used the stairs most of the time. Celebrity has gone downhill in every way possible, their employees are disengaged & the service is no where close to where it was in the past. The food is mediocre and the constant harassment trying to sell and upsell drink packages and merchandise on the ship is pathetic. Overall disappointed and do not recommend Celebrity cruises. The ship was nice, the food was good, the entertainment, although usually only an hour long, was first rate. Customer Service service desk was indifferent and the documentation manager was HORRIBLE. We chose this cruise for its destinations in Spain and Portugal, the itinerary consisted of 10 days 8 ports from Lisbon to Barcelona. We chose this cruise for a little autumn sun in the Canary Islands and having been on Silhouette before in the Caribbean saw it as the perfect fit--or so we thought. Cabin Cabin size was good, cabin cleanliness was not. Greeted by a pile of the previous guest's toenail clippings on the balcony. I don't what made us more annoyed, that someone would do that and leave them or that it hadn't been cleaned up.
