Our first cruise - Bali to Singapore The plus points Good food in Aqua restaurant Staff excellent One or two shows good Lectures good The negatives Cramped cabin - could barely get past end of bed Tiny balcony - oils only just get 2 chairs and a table on it Cramped bathroom - Overpriced excursions False excision descriptions - eg - “small group walking tour” was ...

Standards are Slipping but Prices are Escalating

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Celebrity Edge

We sought to expand our previous experiences on Pacific cruises on the 2 Solstice ships by booking a similar 10 day voyage ex Sydney on the newer Edge. Despite its classy, even glitzy, appearance, we were disappointed with many aspects of the ship, especially the on-board activities or more correctly lack of activities and entertainment. Apart from the variable (mostly live & loud) Theatre ...

Pre-Covid we cruised on this ship around Japan and had the very best of times. So on 23rd December 2023 we sailed from Singapore to Bali via Thailand and Malaysia. We has a 9th floor balcony room and Aqua class dining. Days before departure Celebrity sent me an incomprehensible email about electronic on arrival visa for Bali. I spoke to Celebrity UK and was told to ignore as this was for US and ...

Terrible Food and Lame Entertainment

The food in Cafe Blu was horrible. I am a plant eater mostly. My choices were limited and tasteless. My husband found the meats in the Ocean View Cafe to be over cooked. I have noticed on our last 3 cruises with Celebrity that the quality of food has gone down. The entertainment has always been slow, but enjoyable. However, during this cruise the entertainment was unimaginative. I felt like the ...

Eclipse is really falling short

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Celebrity Eclipse

In Sept. 2021 we cruised the Apex. It had only been sailing since June, great ship, service, food, and shows. Eclipse not so much. In fact, because of our b2b2b we will not sail with Celebrity again. On Jan. 14 we started on Eclipse to do the Fiji islands (12 night) then New Zealand (12 night) and finished with Australia wine tour (9 night). To start with the staff was amazing, always working ...

Second Rate, poor value for money

We chose this cruise because we had sailed pre Covid with Solstice and had had a wonderful time. However, this cruise was extremely disappointing and we will never choose this line again. These are some of the reasons, Mask wearing was barely encouraged for passengers and was minimal. The staff all wore them. However, Covid was spreading as a result. Two out of our party of eight ...

Where do you Start.? The Good - The Staterooms ( Balcony) are bigger than other cruise lines - The corridors are bigger - The Captain was outstanding. in communication and very funny. That unfortunately is where it ends The Ship is tired - Cabin Curtains with holes - Carpets worn and stained - Public rooms are worn and tired Particularly the Passport Bar. Theatre seating very shabby. The ...

We chose this cruise as we had heard great things about Celebrity X. We have cruised several times Royal Caribbean so expected it to be better as Celebrity is supposed to be their premium brand. Our room attendant kept our rooms cleans but could barely speak English so was very hard to communicate with. The main dining room staff were gorgeous, kind and fun and the food on board is ...

A boring cruise with a very uncomfortable bed

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

Thought it would be a good way to visit a variety of destinations, but it wasn't that way. The bed was very uncomfortable, and after several complaints had the deck manager inspect it and agreed to have a one piece overlay placed over the mattress to try to give some comfort. Bed was suppose to be a queen, but was two singles put together. A foam overlay was first placed on top after the ...

Thought this was a quality cruise but it wasn't. entertainment in theatre too loud and quite boring. Food average.Excursions way too expensive. spa staff really pushy. Boarding was a crush and quite badly managed, concierge class was supposed to be better boarding experience but was no different to anyone else. Bars were congested and often a thorofare which meant nowhere to stand when no seat ...
