On the Celebrity Silhouette December 4th - 14th
Background: We are Elite members on Celebrity and have sailed on NCL, Carnival, RCL so not new to cruising. First cruise was in 1980 so we have seen the changes over the years, but I have to say that the current changes in Celebrity are the worst. The staff was great as always but you can tell they are very understaffed and over worked. None of ...
This was our first Celebrity cruise, and only our fourth overall. We chose it largely based on Celebrity's reputation for service and dining. Our previous cruises have been Holland America Statendam to Alaska (1995), Norwegian EPIC to the Eastern Caribbean (2013) and Disney Magic to the Bahamas (2015). Both the NCL and Disney cruises were with our kids as a family of four. The first and and last ...
This cruse on the Silhouette was my first cruise on Celebrity Cruise Lines. I had been told the food was excellent. I found it average to poor. What was worse, unless you shelled out more money for a specialty restaurant the only options you had were the one MDR, the buffet, or a top side snack bar. I have sailed NCL and all their ships have two MDR (Same menu, different vibe), an oriental ...
The cruise overall was…
Overall our experience was Positive, however it is marketed as an upscale experience and we didn’t find it much more upscale than RCL standard.
The entertainment was actually very good! There were 2 Production shows, both awesome and creative!

Boarding and First Impressions:
Embarking on the Celebrity Silhouette was a bit of a waiting game due to weather delays at Port Everglades, resulting in a two-hour postponement. However, the actual boarding process was commendably efficient, setting a positive tone despite the initial setback.

We picked this cruise because it was 10 days and New Jersey schools were closed for some of the days we were cruising. We cruised with our 10 year old granddaughter, my daughter, son-in-law, my husband (78) and myself (75). We booked sunset veranda cabins that were adjoining on deck 6. I rented a scooter for my husband. Checking in was great. Luggage at the cabin - great so far. Stewart unlocked ...
We have always dreamed of embarking on a Galapagos cruise holiday and an offer came up on ROL Cruises.
Flights were included from London via Amsterdam to Quito and outbound went smoothly.
The Celebrity representative met us at the airport and transported us to the very plush JW Marriott quito hotel, keeping us all entertained and informed throughout the journey.
After breakfast the next ...
It's hard to describe how amazing the Galapagos are or to put in words what a wonderful trip we had, but I'd encourage anyone thinking of going to do it! There are many ships to choose from and I think the Xploration was the perfect choice for us. We chose it because of size: the boat can hold 16 guests, but we were a group of only 13. We still had two naturalists on board, so that gave us a lot ...
We took this cruise for the South America itinerary (Buenos Aires to Valparaiso). It has been several years since we have been on a Celebrity cruise. All in all, we had a wonderful trip.
There were some negatives. The ship is tired and needs a lot of maintenance. When we arrived in our balcony stateroom, there was a light bulb burned out, a broken drawer in the closet and the safe would not ...

Why We Chose Flora
Flora was recommended by our travel advisor. While we do not prefer cruising, and our experience with mass market cruise lines is limited, we felt that this was the most efficient way for us to visit the Galápagos Islands as one element of our itinerary to Ecuador. ...
