Celebrity Eclipse was fine but the weather was not

Review for a South America Cruise on Celebrity Eclipse

We decided on this cruise because of the itinerary. We had not previously been to this part of South America. We usually cruise Celebrity and enjoy S-Class ships like Eclipse. The ship was very well maintained in all areas but it will be updated in April 2021. Pre-cruise: We flew Philadelphia/Miami/Santiago on American Airlines. Long trip. We stayed a couple of days in Santiago at Hotel ...

We have been wanting to do a South America cruise for some time now and this holiday cruise was a perfect time for us. This was our 15th cruise with Celebrity. The cruise director, Alejandro from Argentina, was an absolute riot. We loved this guy. The entertainment was excellent too as was our dining room service with David from Kenya. His assistant Alvin was also outstanding. We loved the ...

Good ship, inconsistent shore excursions

We sailed on the Eclipse about 8 years ago and knew the ship was due for refurbishment next year so we were concerned it may be a bit worn about the edges but to our surprise it was very well maintained. We had a balcony and it was a 16 night cruise and felt there was not enough storage. Entertainment on the ship was good, one poor act, some not so great, some really good, overall very ...

Price and itinerary.. Its was a destination that we did not do before. Food was good but not exceptional . Food was better on other celebrity crises we have been on . Disembarkation was awful. It appeared very organized with everyone given assigned times for immigration. But then they threw the schedules away huge groups go all at once . This caused long waits , long lines, long waits for ...

This was our 21st cruise and 5th on Celebrity but first time back on the line in 2 years and first time on a solstice ship in 5 years. Shortly before this cruise we had done several others including our first sailings on Crystal and Seabourn. We have travelled South America and Brazil extensively on land and this was a last minute booking just to enjoy another cruise and reacquaint ourselves with ...

Antarctica was awesome, Brazil not so great

The Eclipse Antarctica cruise was great - primarily because of MickeyLive! He engaged everyone in the scenery, terrific talks, great narration and interaction for 14 days! The cruise would have been boring without him. ALL of his talks were standing room only! The ship was fine, Captain Leo was also very engaging and friendly. Celebrity shore excursions are ridiculously over-priced! Do ...

We chose Celebrity Eclipse for one, the itinerary and two we have sailed with them on a few occasions previous. The itinerary was amazing and one we will not forget, feeling very privalidged to be visiting Antarctica. We have sailed on Eclipse before and love the ship, good main dining room, ocean view cafe if you want to be more casual and speciality restaurants you can pay an extra cover charge ...

Unforgettable Experience

We picked this cruise for the itinerary, I've know people who took expedition ships to Antarctica, but that's just out of our budget range. This cruise offered the chance to get really close to Antarctica without spending extra thousands to set foot on the place. It was unforgettable! The weather could not have been better for viewing and photography. Add in icebergs, whales sea lions, ...

We chose the cruise for the destinations and they didn't disappoint. Antarctica and the Falklands were were every penny to get there. In Antarctica you don't get off but we saw so much from the ship. There were lots of whales, icebergs, penguins and incredible scenery. We didn't do any ship excursions but booked tours through Trip Advisor. The ship has some problems and it was our first ...
