We decided on this cruise because of the itinerary. We had not previously been to this part of South America. We usually cruise Celebrity and enjoy S-Class ships like Eclipse. The ship was very well maintained in all areas but it will be updated in April 2021.

We have been wanting to do a South America cruise for some time now and this holiday cruise was a perfect time for us. This was our 15th cruise with Celebrity. The cruise director, Alejandro from Argentina, was an absolute riot. We loved this guy. The entertainment was excellent too as was our dining room service with David from Kenya. We sailed on the Eclipse about 8 years ago and knew the ship was due for refurbishment next year so we were concerned it may be a bit worn about the edges but to our surprise it was very well maintained. We had a balcony and it was a 16 night cruise and felt there was not enough storage.

Pros- The Naturalist are great and that is a main reason for going to the Galápagos. They are informative and dedicated to the area.
The ship is new and beautiful.
The staff is all Ecuadorian and try very hard.

The Eclipse Antarctica cruise was great - primarily because of MickeyLive! He engaged everyone in the scenery, terrific talks, great narration and interaction for 14 days! We picked this cruise for the itinerary, I've know people who took expedition ships to Antarctica, but that's just out of our budget range. This cruise offered the chance to get really close to Antarctica without spending extra thousands to set foot on the place.

We chose the cruise for the destinations and they didn't disappoint. Antarctica and the Falklands were were every penny to get there. In Antarctica you don't get off but we saw so much from the ship. There were lots of whales, icebergs, penguins and incredible scenery.
