Celebrity Solstice - 2012

We were part of a group of 3 couples (family & friends) that decided to take this cruise together. We all were on Deck 10 and all had rooms with a veranda. Boarding & Departure - The boarding process was very smooth. I think we arrived at the port around 11:00 am and after dropping off our luggage, proceeded into the terminal area for processing. The line moved along quickly, and we received ...

Celebrity Solstice Cruise - Another Wonderful Experience

We travelled to Miami with Virgin booked via Celebrity and managed to get seats on the Upper Deck by amending/confirming our booking online 24 hours prior to departure. The flight passed without incident and we passed through Customs within 15 minutes of arrival as by chance they opened a few more Customs booths as we walked into the hall, however we then waited over 45 minutes for our bags, we ...

Ventured into the Western Caribbean last week aboard Solstice. Beautiful ship. Only minor hangup (and it was very minor) was lack of deck chairs for days at sea. But will over 2000 passengers it was not to be unexpected. Ports (Georgetown, Grand Cayman;Cozumel;Roatan;Costa Maya) were all great. Lots to do in each. One thing....if you have never been, the ship docks in Cozumel but everything ...

PERSONAL-- I am mid-50s and traveled alone on this cruise. I have cruised quite a bit, and appreciate Celebrity's style. EMBARCATION-- The lines moved, the staff was courteous, and I was on board in matter of minutes. Since I arrived around 1:30 PM, I was able to drop my carry-on in my cabin and head up for a buffet lunch. Flawless! SHIP OVERALL-- I had sailed on the Solstice before, and ...

Having just come iff the Eclipse, our second week aboard the Celebrity fleet was spontaneous, unexpected and unplanned thanks to a fortunate turn of events. this time aboard the Eclipse's older sister the Solstice. Very much her twin, the only significant differences were in minor details such as the color of the chair pads by the pool, however, her layout and feel is identical and every bit as ...

We were traveling with a group of 47 public safety professionals, many of whom we travel with annually. I've been on multiple cruises before, but this was my girlfriend Jodi's first one! She certainly wasn't disappointed --but I may have set the bar a little high with Celebrity! We arrived in Fort Lauderdale via JetBlue the day prior to the ship's departure. First time flying with them, and ...

Beautiful ship, boring itinerary

February 5, 2012 sailing out of Port Everglades (Ft. Lauderdale). I always like sailing out of this port because of the proximity to the airport. Transfers are easy and inexpensive. We stayed in Aqua Class stateroom, #1606 on the bump out section of the ship. This cabin has a huge balcony and was not windy even though it is slightly forward facing. We previously sailed on the Eclipse and ...

CELEBRITY SOLSTICE REVIEW -- February 5-12, 2012 Ft. Lauderdale -- Western Caribbean This was my 23rd cruise and first time on any Celebrity Cruise ship. It is important to note that many comments here may seem "picky" in nature. They are meant only to reveal what a new passenger to Celebrity's Solstice might expect. EMBARKATON Over the years, embarkation on any ship leaving from Ft ...

Cruising on the Solstice for the Second Time

Embarkation We flew down the morning of the cruise. We decided to take a taxi to the cruise ship which we never do. What an experience. The driver had one phone in his ear and he was texting on a phone in his right hand! We did not know what to do as he did not talk to us over the entire short trip. We got there safely but that is no way to start a vacation! We were on the ship after a ...

My wife and I and 4 other couples cruised on Solstice February 5-12, 2012. We are all seasoned cruisers; each couple having cruised at least 8 times primarily on Carnival and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. We are all in our mid to late 50's. We began our trip by departing ORD on Saturday, February 4. No flight problems and we arrived on time at FLL. We took a cab to our hotel, the Marriott's ...
