The cabin was comfortable, clean and well serviced. The C2 cabin "concierge" amenities only amounted to a bottle of champagne on arrival, and canapes to order in the afternoon. We had them a few times, but then got some bad shrimp on one tray and never ordered them again. We never received a robe, or had any priority in embarkation or disembarkation.
We were surprised that though all ages were ...
This was our first Meditereanean cruise and we chose Celebrity and the Solstice. We got a real good deal for Aqua Class (AQ) so we decided to go for it mostly because of what we read about Blu, the Aqua Class only dining room. We were not disappointed. The food quality, variety, service and ambiance was better than expected. The protions, while not large, there is plenty since it seems you get 3 ...
We just got back from our Cruise on the Celebrity Solstice and we loved the ship and the staff. My wife and i have been on about 15 plus cruise and this was the nicest ship out of all of them. Loved the Martini bar and all the great restaurants. We ate at two of the new ones. There is a cost but the food was great. We did meet Captain Gerry and i had a nice chat with Staff Capt Tasos Kafetzis. He ...
Having sailed on the Solstice for a 7 day getaway cruise back in January 2011, I thought it would be interesting to re-visit the same ship later in the year on a different route and compare the voyage. I could sum it up by saying 7 nights in the Caribbean was superb, 12 nights in Europe was spectacular. We started out at an excellent hotel in Barcelona I read about on cruise critic. The Hotel ...
We had an overnight stay in the Hotel Regina situated in the heart of Barcelona just to the left of Las Ramblas. Just perfect and great value.
Embarkation was a breeze and we were soon greeted by our daughter who has been working on board for some 4 months. It was great to see her again.
She gave us a whistle stop tour of the ship before we stopped for lunch on the outside area of ...
This was our first European cruise.
Let me start with on board embarkment. How easy was that? We had the concierge class balcony room and were assured first on. We arrived at noon and were escorted directly to champagne and access to the ship wherever we wanted to go.
We walked along many of the common area decks to the "buffet" area. This is no ordinary "buffet" There were many stations ...
We arrived in Barcelona on the day of our sailing, and headed straight from the airport to the pier. There we were greeted by porters, who quickly made luggage tags for us, seeing how Celebrity doesn't ship them to our country. Check-in was quick and easy, and we only had a short wait before they let us on board early.
We headed up to the Ocean View buffet and had lunch, seeing how we had ...
This was the 3rd cruise for my partner and I having previously travelled with RCI, NCL and Disney. From the outset I would place Solstice in third place behind RCI and Disney (with Disney outclassing the other ships).
My partner and I are in our late 30's / early 40's and enjoy travelling, good food, a few drinks, shows and a good variety of entertainment.
Travel ...
This was the eighth cruise for my wife & I--Our third Med. cruise. Last on Ruby Princess in 2009. We last cruised Celebrity on Millenium in 2007 in Med & found it superior in many ways.
Things we found good; The food in MDR was very good every night & the service was equally good. On past cruises we have always eaten in Specialty restaurants but did not on Solstice because MDR was so ...
Solstice well its first class from the moment you join to you depart.
Cabin 9223 was perfectly proportioned for our need from the LCD to shower room which has more storage places than you can use. The Balcony is more that adequate for sitting having a drink before dining or sunbathing .As for our stateroom attendant Marcellino he was Simply the best nothing was to much to trouble for ...
