I recently had the unfortunate experience of cruising on the Celebrity Solstice, and regrettably, my overall impression is far from positive. The cruise was marred by a series of disappointments, primarily centered around the lackluster service and subpar amenities.
From the onset, the service on the ship left much to be desired. Rather than creating a relaxing environment, the staff seemed ...
I travelled with my mom on Celebrity Solstice (Los Angeles to Los Angeles) and it was our first and last time on Celebrity Cruises. What a huge disappointment!
We both have been on other cruise lines such as Regent, Holland America, and Oceania and we both were very disappointed with Celebrity. My mom has been on 50+ cruises and we booked this cruise for the convenience of being able to get on ...
Having sailed at least six times on NCL in the last two years, we ventured onto this Celebrity ship to try something different. Huge mistake that we will not repeat.
Two positives about this cruise: (1) The staff were generally pleasant and tried hard. (2) Embarkation and disembarkation is the fastest and easiest we ever experienced.
Unfortunately that's all there is to say that's ...
The ship was fine. It was the process to sign up that was daunting, exhaustive and frustrating. I will never sign up with Celebrity again.
The cruise started in Seattle and ended up dropping us off in Vancouver. This was plain stupid. Our car was in Seattle.
Don't consider this as a final destination point if you depart from Seattle. Celebrity does not help you get back to Seattle. The ...
Boring, there just wasn't enough to do on board for someone who is active; It felt like we had checked into as assisted living community. While the staff were lovely, efficient and helpful the ship was tired and the food was incredibly average. We ate in the specialty restaurants Le Petite Chef, Tuscan Grill and Murano and only the Tuscan Grill was worth the extra cost. The main dining room ...
We chose this cruise because it linked to another cruise that would be ending and went to a destination we wanted to see. This was advertised to us as a 5 1/2 star ship. It is a 4 1/2 star ship with 3 1/2 star food and service.
Embarkation: The porter staff was gruff and borderline rude. We were told if we had alcohol in our checked luggage we had to remove it or it would be confiscated. ...
With so few opportunities to cruise from Fremantle we took the opportunity to fly to Sydney for a 4 day cruise to Melbourne. Hence the title "Booze Cruise". I must admit to being disgusted by ANY shipping line that condones drinking alcohol to excess. Passengers who purchased the alcohol package at $US80+ per day certainly decided to get their monies worth regardless of their loud and often ...
Before you jump to conclusions I have been on 10 cruises and this literally was the worst. The only things we enjoyed were the shore excursions. The ship is in great need of being redone. There was dust and apparently other things on the ship making people cough and sneeze all the time. We both left the ship not feeling well and I ended up at the doctor and more time off work due to my illness. ...
Chose this cruise based on past experiences with Celebrity.
Pros:
1) Ship well kept.
2) Staff overall was very good.
3) Sky Suite in the aft was a great location with a beautiful balcony.
Cons:
1) Sky Suite bathroom had issues the whole time. Toilet had issues flushing every day.
2) Staff member in the Tuscan Grille lied about gratuity and the food was not nearly as ...
This is not a luxury five star ship whatever the travel agents claim, not now. It was back in 2008 when it was launched, but its been worked hard since then. Its evident when you embark through its nice white hull and enter its interior that its tired and overdue for a refit. We did venture up to the buffet on the first day and were surprised it was a serve yourself affair (a known novivirus risk) ...
