I have read a review by Msglodenhair and agree with most of her review of her on board experience, of the ship and the captain and crew. However prior to embarkation, I had attempted to register on the Celebrity email log on pages that my wife was Gluten intolerant and that she would need a Gluten free diet. Having cruised in the Princess and P & O lines, that was a simple option to highlight ...

We wanted to see the New Zealand Sounds - not hear them. We are regulars and have sailed on Celebrity before, the last trip was around the west coast of India. The Solstice is a modern well run Ship with good food, comfortable cabins, and professional staff. Exploring Milford and the other sounds on the ship was a great experience, and the Captain and pilot managed to manoeuvre close to the ...

We chose this cruise as it was suitable as our first cruise of the season. We had been on this ship some 5 years before but it is still in very good order. Only our 5th Celebrity cruise but due to our Royal Caribbean history we were given Elite class. Embarkation was quick due to that benefit. We had done all the ports before, both by sea and land, so will not expand on them. First the good ...

SOLSTICE - NZ TO AUSTRALIA - GREAT TIME

Last sailing of the season – 3 senior couples traveling together, 2 couples from Phoenix, 1 couple from WA state – our 4th cruise as a group of 6, 14 days, March/April 2019. GREATEST FEAR: Dread of the flight to AKL and the transport home from SYD. Into AKL we arrived 2 nights early – all on Hawaiian. One couple did PDX to HNL to AKL in one shot – the others did PHX to HNL, overnight, then ...

Excellent cruise with some quibbles

First cruise with Celebrity, had previously done 2 Alaskan cruises with HAL. We prefer a more sedate and classy vibe, but the reviews for the analogous HAL cruise ship were poor in comparison. In general I think this cruise is targeted towards the livelier of the older crowd. Itinerary was fine. I would've preferred fewer cities and more nature. It's a bit of a tradeoff, though, since ...

We chose this cruise as we thought it would be a more relaxing way to travel to the North & South Islands of New Zealand. We picked up the ship at Auckland after a two night at the Rydges Hotel. A very nice city. There were very large queues on embarkation & although we were advised it could take two hours before we got on board our queue moved quite quickly. The organisation did seem a bit ...

Me and my partner chose to cruise with celebrity after enjoying a fantastic cruise on the Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas 2 years prior. We thought since the two are related and celebrity is more expensive that the experience should be even more fantastic. I have to say, we had a better time on the Explorer. Not sure whether this is because of the people on the ship... we are 25 but ...

We planned our first cruise to celebrate our honeymoon and Celebrity cruises did not disappoint. Embarkation was smooth and quick. The downside was the immediate selling of drinks packages and specialty restaurants. We both went for a non-alcoholic drinks package, however we did not feel we got our moneys worth as there is only so much coke zero you can drink. We found it more affordable to buy ...

Great Food, Outstanding Service and Wonderful Itinerary

Review for Celebrity Solstice to Alaska

I choose traveling with Celebrity to Alaska because the itinerary with Fjord was really good and the price was ok. The Ship is not a big one, it only has two elevators sections, three on the front and like six at the back. The embarkation was easy but the waiting line was pretty large and that took me about one hour. I embarked the Ship around noon and the rooms were ready at 1 pm. The food at ...

Knowing nothing about specific cruise lines, I chose the one that AAA was offering. We felt like we hit the jackpot. The ship was beautiful, the food was fabulous and I can't imagine a better crew taking care of our every need. The entertainment was excellent and there was always a long list of activities for the day. I used the gym several times and it was modern, clean and the view was to die ...
