Overall great experience, loved the ship! Best food we have had in a while on a cruise ship. We chose an inside cabin and it was very comfortable. linens and towels on board are luxurious. Dining was by far one of the best things on this cruise, some of the best food we have had on a cruise in a long time. Portions are not very large, which we didn't mind as it made it easier to try more options. Oceanview buffet was very nice as well with many options, although we opted for dining room during most of the cruise. entertainment was okay, I felt the theater cast was a bit young and most shows felt like High School Musical IMO, they were not horrible, but not great. The comedians on board were good and enjoyed those shows. Ports were good as well, PR, ST, SM, the weather was fabulous so the Caribbean waters were beautiful. All in all this cruise was fabulous, we really enjoyed it...booked our next Celebrity cruise 3 days after being home! Read Less

i would definitely go back on this ship the staff were so friendly and couldnt do enough for you and the ship was spotlessly clean the entertainment was superb very professional done the food was amazing in the buffet style or the fine dining we tried the italian restaurant we were not impressed by this as the pasta was either too thick or calimari over cooked. staff were nice though. would recommend this ship . our room maid was julliann who was just brilliant nothing was a problem to her. we did the excursion at st martens which was really good and interesting worth the money, our cabin was slightly small for three ladies in it but the beds were comfy enough one of us had to sleep on sofa even though we all paid the same money but the balcony was great would def get a balcony next time . I wanted to try it, never been...luxurious, impeccable service, very friendly. Entertainment was beyond expectation, and I am very discerning. Great singers, stand-up comedy was excellent. I was a bit confused with dining though, didn't realise I was going to be on a potentially different table every night, as I had no set time. Wish there was a table for people travelling on their own, I had dinners by myself sometime, which I did not like. I realise there was a bar where people on their own could meet, my fault I did not investigate. People were generally friendly. I also felt that all beverages could be included in the drinks package, i.e. water, coffee, wine, beer etc., instead of separate packages for separate drinks. On the whole, I enjoyed it very much, very luxurious, swimming pools were packed for my liking, but that is to be expected. The only downside was disembarkation, it was shambles once you got off the ship. Very organised getting off, but I was taking a shuttle to Miami, and there was no sign where to go, so I missed two shuttles before I found the right place to wait. The customs were very slow, two officers initially for all those people! If that was faster, it would have been perfect. Read Less

We chose the April date to accommodate all in our party of ten (friends and family). We had been on Silhouette for a Med cruise two years ago. The ship did not age in between our sailing. The cabins are well taken care of, the room steward we had (Frankie) was totally accommodating, room service worked by the second day. The MDR was excellent, we’ve dined in specialty restaurants on this ship, and Reflection, but decided this time to stay with MDR. The vegan and gluten free options are a plus. We sailed two years ago on Reflection, newer but no different. We are booked on Equinox for February, and I’m a little concerned about age of ship. We are thankful for present time reviews. The shows were so, so. Nothing special. Acrobats, part of a variety show, were amazing. We really like the Solstice class ships. First class top to bottom Read Less

Food, service and ambience all were exceptional. First cruise on Celebrity and will definitely be back for another. Concierge class was well worth it and will do again. Loved the fact that the ship did not seem crowded. Always plenty of tables available at the buffet or at the pool. Reservations weren't needed for shows. The Silhouette is a great ship with something for everyone. Casino was smoke free and what a pleasure that was. All staff were so friendly and accommodating and officers were always out and about interacting with guests. Food was fresh and exceptionally well presented. We did not do any specialty restaurants but the main dining room was very enjoyable for dinner. Wait staff and sommelier there were well trained. The room was well designed and the balcony was spacious with two chaise lounge chairs and a table, much larger than balconies on other ships. Wish they would offer berries at breakfast. Read Less

Had a wonderful week on the Silhouette during an Eastern Caribbean sailing. This cruise was meant to be a relaxing one, post surgery, so we planned to stay onboard the entire cruise. We have sailed on the Silly before and we’re just as big fans as our first time on her. We breezed through embarkion because I had to be in a wheelchair. Our cabin steward was very personable and always nearby to offer assistance. I had to use a scooter because of a recent surgery, and he was quick to hold doors, and helped set the cabin up so I could easily maneuver. The staff throughout the ship was friendly, efficient, and always greeted passengers with a smile. The food in the MDR was very good-much better than recent cruises on Royal Caribbean. We had breakfast all but the last day, and dinner 3 nights. Specialty restaurants were outstanding, although the food in Qsine is not to our taste, the staff in all four were wonderful. Entertainment was typical of Celebrity. We enjoyed all of the evening shows, especially the aerialists. They were spectacular! The Rock and Rolll show, Billy McGuigan, on the last night was fantastic!! Best show on any cruise that we’ve been on. We had fun at trivia throughout the cruise, enjoyed the “game shows” in the entertainment court, attended a presentation on the Galapagos (our next cruise), and spent most of our time in the Solarium. Glad to see the pool butlers kindly explaining the no children rule to those parents unaware. We stayed onboard throughout, so I can’t comment on the ports, but it was nice to be able to find lounge chairs without any trouble. Because we’re Elite level, we had lots of extra events, and saw many of the officers, including the captain, at most. Disembarkation was fairly easy with wheelchair assistance, but we came into a different pier, so it was necessary to take the shuttle to the parking garage. Highly recommend Celebrity, and the Silhouette. Can’t wait for our next Celebrity cruise! Read Less

We picked this cruise because the Silhouette left from Ft.lauderdale and we hadn't sailed on her yet. We still had a fun, relaxing cruise even after we stood in line for over two hours prior to boarding the ship, 11:30am to 1:45pm. The new terminal is being built now for the Edge and hopefully other Celebrity ships because Miami is not fun getting to and from the ships or maybe moving a ship to Port Canaveral, just saying. It was our first time in Concierge but we missed lunch in the MD because it was closed by the time we boarded, wished Celebrity sent us a message to drive down earlier before the crowd arrived. After we finally got something to eat our cabin was ready and our luggage even beat us,we unpacked then rested after standing in the sun for so long, BUT at least it wasn't raining. The rest of the cruise was great. The MD food and service was great. In fact the officers and staff were all friendly and helpful. Being school break we must commend most of the parents on how well their children and teens behaved themselves. Even with a full ship the only place it felt crowed was on deck three in the evening. By the way the entertainment by the cruise line dancers and singers was much improved. The St John island tour was well worth the money and we really enjoyed talking to the island people who told us about the hurricanes, not a fun time for any of them, sad. Read Less

Embarkation and disembarkation went wonderful it was amazing how they moved all the people on and off. The cabin was wonderful along with our stateroom attendant. The entertainment was AMAZING. The production cast for the ship were fantastic!!! Service was fantastic! Would cruise again with them! Can't wait for the next cruise. Sue the cruise director was amazing! The Silhouette is a beautiful ship that is very very clean with an outstanding crew and staff. It did not feel crowded either. So many opportunities to relax and have fun as well, silent disco, dance parties, game shows, shows, shopping and auctions. So much to do no matter how old or young you are! Silent disco is a must they had it twice while we were on the cruise it is amazing. It is so clean on the ship they are always cleaning, picking up glasses, bottles and plates. The ports that we went to were amazing we took a bus tour at each one they were about 2 and a half hours each, which still gives you plenty of time to explore and shop. We will be going again! This was a boring ship for a family with kids. It was a bad choice, as it was clearly a ship catering to a much older demographic. The toddler times were very limited. It would have been nice to have some kind of facilitated session - like "Mommy & Me" or something. It was just a room with a few toys. High chairs were difficult to find, and a few of them had broken straps (which allowed my toddler to stand up). Not impressed with the food and very disappointed that the restaurants had such high cover charges. Other ships we have been on have had more dining options - such as Johnny Rockets. The room attendant did not leave any towel animals. First cruise, out of 4, that these weren't done. What a disappointment, especially since we had children. I will say that the staff, especially in the dining room, were wonderful. Embarkation took a very long time - I'm not sure why the lines weren't moving. Read Less

When I booked this cruise the departure port was Ft Lauderdale but after the final payment deadline the port was changed to MIami. Ft. Lauderdale was convenient, Miami was not. If you asked, they agreed to transport you from the Ft. Lauderdale airport to the Miami Cruise port. However, when you arrive the day before embarkation and leave a day after disembarkation going from airport to hotel, back to the airport to the cruise port and the same in reverse at the end of the cruise is a gigantic pain! I would not have booked this cruise if I knew it was leaving from Miami. To make matters worse, there were nowhere near enough buses nor people to load luggage on to the buses making the wait much too long. The ship was beautiful and was kept spotlessly clean. We had an Aqua Class stateroom and if nothing else, dining at Blu made it worth the extra cost. The service and the food was excellent. We ate at Tuscan Grille the first night and while it was good, I don't think it was worth the extra cost. The buffet was fine at breakfast and lunch, but their dinner offerings left us wanting. The entertainment was a highlight. Great variety and high quality performers. Best of any cruise ship we've been on. Finding a deck seat on cruise days was a real challenge due primarily to people's selfishness. In spite of requests by the staff people reserved multiple chairs, both in the shade and in the sun simultaneously (so they had options) and left the majority of them unoccupied for hours at a time. Just plain rude. We took a shore excursion through the ship in St. Thomas and through a third party provider on St. Maarten. Both were excellent and provided thorough tours of both islands. We walked to and around Old San Juan on our own due to the close proximity to the pier. I did not like the 3:30 arrival in San Juan because it made for too short a visit. Read Less

Was interested in Eastern Caribbean - missed these islands during the Summit repositioning cruise in Oct 17 just after the hurricanes. And had not been on the Silhouette before. Very easy embarkation. Ship is clean and well maintained. Crew is friendly and responsive. No issues with cabin or dining (MDR) - we were very well taken care of. Good entertainment - especially the comic and singing acts (The Modern Gentlemen; Uptown). Production show wasn't very good. Singers did their best (good voices) but the story line was confusing. Have noticed this on the last few Celebrity cruises - very odd shows. Perhaps they need some help in selecting these. Excursions thru Celebrity were very good - enjoyed each one on each island. Sea days were good too - lots to do. One note - the Celebrity website is one of the worst around and it appears that they don't care. It's been bad for a long time. Had to call to register for the CC gathering on board. Was told on the phone by Celebrity that the function to register online for these has been down for months! But website aside, our TA was terrific and our cruise was wonderful. Read Less

We have been on 6 cruises now. We have traveled on norwegain, carnival and royal. Celebrity cruises are known for their food and service. However, I was pretty disappointed in the food. Our prior cruise with royal i though the food was way better. Here are the positives and then I'll post negatives. The service, cabins, ship cleanliness and beverage pkg were very good. The negatives; very much geared to much older crowd, not a lot of activities, not enough pool chairs available on sea days, and the food. Now don't get me wrong they do have decent food however I've had much better on other cruise lines. Also, I was extremely disappointed in the room service options, just terrible! So little options on there. We will not travel again with celebrity. I was very surprised as this ship had won in many categories and it was by far our least favorite cruise. Read Less

This was our first X cruise after trying NCL, Princess and RC. We decided to try Celebrity after many mostly positive reviews here. Overall, this was the most relaxing cruise we've ever had. We never felt rushed or pressured at all. Stress was pretty much non-existent. That doesn't mean all was sweetness and light, though. Pros Silly is a beautiful ship with a friendly crew and accessible officers always willing to chat a bit. The crew is constantly cleaning - darned if I could see any dirt. Regarding the expected annoying upsells - we didn't have any. Our cabin was a good size with ample storage. We found the over-the-bed storage, decried by some, to be fantastic. We took 2 storage cubes with us as a test and they worked so well we'll take at least 4 on our next S-class trip. The bed was very comfortable. The enclosed shower was a big improvement over a curtain and had plenty of hot water and good pressure. MDR food quality was mostly good with the beef dishes being very good to excellent. But there are some cons for MDR later. We ordered room service twice - 1 breakfast and 1 lunch - ordered online from our cabin. Both times we got confirmation calls within 5 minutes of ordering. Food was very good and right on time - much better than previous cruises. We didn't go to any shows so can't comment there but each evening we'd listen to either Dallas Bridges or Jazz Walkers in the atrium before dinner. The atrium music could also be heard from the Hideaway and Library for a quieter venue. Speaking of which, the Library had a fairly extensive collection - much more than previous reviews led us to expect. And the Hideaway is just sooooo relaxing. We also recommend Cafe al Bacio for those times when the MDR dessert menu is a bit lacking - or anytime really. Our steward, Krishna, was excellent - efficient and always with a smile. Hector, our man in The Passport Bar, quickly learned our preferences and provided excellent service as soon as we arrived. Both embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly and quickly - a pleasant surprise after reading some horrible reviews of Port of Miami. Cons Pretty much all dining related. We were seated in an isolated area of the MDR deck 3 aft starboard - maybe 30 people tops. It felt like being at the kids' table for Thanksgiving. It also felt like we had the new guys for our wait staff. Everyone has to learn their jobs sometime I guess. The quality was good to excellent as I said earlier, but the quantity was kind of embarrassing. OK, you can always order more but if that's the case use smaller plates. Having a 4 inch diameter portobello mushroom dinner entree on a huge plate is ridiculous. My eggs benedict at breakfast looked like 2 little eyeballs in a Charlie Brown head. Also, I'm pretty sure a Caesar Salad should have more than lettuce and Kraft parmesan cheese. Four times in the first 2 lunches in MDR we had to remind staff of forgotten order items. The Mast Grill? I've had better burgers at McDonalds and I hate McDonalds. I hope our cons didn't sound too negative. This truly was the most relaxing cruise we've had. Celebrity will be our line for the foreseeable future. In fact, we booked a 9/6/19 Iberian on Reflection while on board. Maybe we'll get to eat at the grownup table then. Read Less

We chose the Celebrity Silhouette for the itinerary and the ports of call because the previous Cruise on the Equinox was so enjoyable. This ship is big enough you are not bumping into people all the time and the ship personnel are courteous, thoughtful and fun. The food was excellent and the shows were fantastic. Our cabin stewart was able to provide all we required and more. The table stewards in the dining learned our tastes pretty quickly even though we kept changing seats at our table to ensure all four of us could enjoy the ambiance of the dinning room equally throughout the week and the Sommelier was able to determine my taste for wine and suggested the perfect one for dinner. The drink stewart always had my husbands liquer on the table ready for him. We have always enjoyed our Celebrity Cruises from start to finish. We look forward to our next one coming up in March of 2019. Read Less

Had a nice week on silhouette. Here are my observations from a first timer on Celebrity. Just my thoughts, and observations. As a reference, I,ve been on about 20 cruises with a variety of lines. -underwhelmed by main dining room menu selections and service and food. Close to 2 hours for dinner, food sub par. -Celebrity attracts a very nice mix of ages crowd. - lawn club and Tuscan grill excellent however too pricey. $45 per person. Then we got a random $10 charge on our account. I am disputing this charge as I received no receipt nor any idea of what this was for. Princess charges $10 per person on specialty dining. -spa extremely expensive and chintzy with offering you a promotion then not billing you correctly with the discount. Like mandara spas much more than canyon ranch. Expect $205 for a 50 minute massage. I’ve never paid more than $160 with tip for a massage on a cruise. Basic facial $250. Outrageous. -embarkation easy, would do concierge class again. -loved the ship. Layout wonderful and easy to get around. -bartenders didn’t know how to make drinks from the ships drinks menus. Many studying the menu in front of guests which was uncomfortable and made guest feel like they should not have ordered drink. - no corned beef at lunch buffet or anywhere on the ship for St Patty’s day, disappointing. many guests upset over this. -received wine in room gift no opener received to open it, had to ask, attention to detail needed. -captains club host never at her desk especially on sea days. Hard to get time with her. -disembarkation easy also. Need more cabs available though. -one night entertainment labeled comedy, we rushed through dinner to make the show and it was an awful production show, please label shows properly on the daily sheet. This show should have been labeled a production show. We thought we were going to see a comedian. -Carl banks comedian was excellent as was the gentleman’s singing group. -bed not comfortable, neither were pillows. Never offered pillow menu as stated in concierge class. Bed also short, my husband is 6 feet tall. Never had that happen on any cruise. -chair hogs evident on sea days. If not at pool by 830 am on sea days you won’t find a chair. If Celebrity would up its game and improve food in dining room I would go back. Unfortunately the food was not as good as on other lines in the main dining room and spending $90 a night to eat at specialty restaurants too pricey to add to cost of cruise. There’s been talk of the line putting effort into specialty in order to make more $, this is evident. I have added to my post cruise survey. Just my thoughts, I really wanted to love Celebrity as the ship itself is fantastic. I just feel food is a big part of a cruise and with the high prices Celebrity is charging, I can’t rebook at this time knowing the food is so so in the main dining room and to guarantee quality you must pay $90 a couple to get great food. We were able to relax and enjoy our trip, food disappointment main issue. Read Less

We have previously sailed on the Silhouette and had a great experience. The itinerary was the Western Caribbean, the ports we love. We enjoy the lawn club grill, our favorite celebrity specialty restaurant which is only on the silhouette and the reflection (hope on the edge). The lawn with it's alcoves are also enjoyable. We have sailed over 30 times on celebrity and about 12 on other lines, and by far Celebrity beats them all. The entire staff was excellent, kodos to Niko the Michael's club hostess, and our butler Nelson. Michael our cabin attendant was also great. Cranston the bar tender in Michaels club was also great and made wonderful drinks. We truly loved the Martini Bar and frequented it nightly. The guest comedians were funny as were the guest singers. One negative comment is the shows staring the Ships performers. They were all talented, but the stories were poorly written and didn't make sense. Royal Caribbean entertainment is much better then Celebrity's. However we enjoyed the live music all over the ship. Food very good in Specialty restaurants, especially Qsine and Murano- as stated before lawn club grill the best! Tuscan just okay- but best views on the ship- sushi on five not for us and was mostly empty- Celebrity should consider other options for this location. We dined in Lumine for lunch when available and breakfast- Staff excellent and in addition to the lumine menu which is fair- you can also order off of the MDR menu if you like. Enjoyed the ports of call also. However you must take a tender to Grand Cayman- but the port is great. We really like the no smoking casino policy as well as the limited announcement policy. Nice not to hear announcements all day- Or walking through a smoke filled ship. Overall truly another memorable cruise. Next Celebrity cruise will be the edge-back to back New Years and the following week. Read Less

This was our first Celebrity cruise and overall we found it quite good. We stuck to the basics, the main dining room and Cafe, a few excursions, the evening theatre, trivia, a few drinks. We met cruise critic folks at a Meet & Mingle. This provided valuable information and a solid memory. The bridge officers made an appearance which reflects the value of Cruise Critic. Our steward, Winston executed perfectly. He was there when we had a question but maintained our room as if by magic. The excursions also were well executed. The one to St John's was worth the trip but the boat crew were very talkative. Less commentary going back would be appreciated by all 4 of us. The only other thing that was bothersome is the lack of regard for other passengers when people use scents particularly in the theatre. How about a designated area for scent-free? By the way, I am not at all prone to lung issues but I almost choked after 1 show. All in all I would call it good, clean, well-run ship that delivers on its promises. Read Less

We just returned from our 1st cruise on Celebrity. We were on the Celebrity Silhouette. This was our 12th cruise. We are a couple both in our 50's. We really enjoyed our cruise with Celebrity. It will definitley not be our last. Going thru Checkin was a breeze. We were on the ship very quickly, and on before 11 AM. We went to the buffet area and found a big table for 6. It was my husband, myself and 2 other couples. The buffet was very impressive. Hands down best buffet we have experienced on a ship. Only annoying thing was being asked 3 times in a matter of minutes about purchasing the drink package. After eating we walked around the top deck, then went to find our room. We had to wait maybe 5 more minutes and at 1 PM the rooms were ready. 1 Piece of our luggage had arrived and we got it unpacked. We did a little more exploring and then came back to room and unpacked the remainer of our things. Safety drill was at 3:15. We were alittle disappointed due to the sail away began during our drill. We had 6 PM set dinner time. We went to dinner in the MDR on night 1 and 5. We had bad service both nights. Food was excellent, but service terrible. We sat both nights for 30 minutes before our orders were taken. Night 5 took us 2 hours and 20 minutes to complete dinner. After night 5 experience we went to Customer Service. On day 7 we were invited to come back to dining room and was seated in new area. The service was Excellent. The food was again Outstanding. There was lots of activties. Exspecially loved the dance classes and the watercoloring paint classes. My husband enjoyed Putting, Chipping and Bocce Tournaments. The shows at night were all very good. The dancers/singers on the ship are very talented and full of energy. You can tell that they enjoy what they do. The Silent Disco party was a lot of fun! Only things that I could recommend is the line adding some shuffleboards to deck 5. Having places setup for water other than having to go up to Garden Cafe. And at 2:30 when buffet ends to maybe leave a salad bar setup. Only option was Pizza and Pasta. Oh and add chicken wings to the buffet!!!! It was a great week and a Great Cruise!!! Read Less

We choose this cruise because the timing was right. My husband had a reading week off and this was the only cruise available in the timeframe. This is our 3rd Celebrity Cruise. The ship was beautiful, the service is second to none. We were very disappointed in the cruise destinations. There is no way that St Martins should have been included in the cruise. We booked the shore excursion to the beach. The beach was a tiny tiny beach with no room. We might as well have stayed on the ship, the chairs were so close together. The woman "leading" the excursion ( I won't mention her name) was obviously very tired, and perhaps shouldn't have been at work. I certainly feel for what she has been through recently, but do I need to know that her mother recently passed away, and that she had spent the night before this excursion with a friend who was trying to commit suicide??? I don't make light of these tragedies, and I feel for her, but I go on vacation to get away from stress not to have stressed added. The food on the ship has definitely gone downhill. I had a "New York Sirloin" in the main dining room, that was really a minute steak. It was less that 1/4" inch thick, and poorly cooked at that. If Celebrity can't serve a real steak than take it off the menu. We had the 3 meal dinner package, which was a real disappointment. The first dinner was in Quisine, I will only say that unless you are fond of tapas don't eat there. We didn't enjoy it at all. We were really looking forward to Munro. Unfortunately, it was not a great experience. My husband and I ordered the Steak for two, medium rare. When it came to the table it was raw. Even the service person was appalled. He took it back. However, instead of bringing another steak, they tried to just recook the slices of steak we had returned. Even the second cooking did not make the steak medium rare. Yes they let us order other entrees but that was not what we wanted. The maitre D did send us a tray of Chocolates in our room for the next two days to apologize. However even that can't make up for an evening for your vacation ruined. Dinner in the Tuscan restaurant was the best on the ship. I wish we had tried that before our last night. We booked thru Celebrity the Fort Lauderdale Everglade. tour on the last day as our flight wasn't until 4PM. I can't tell you have awful that was. First and foremost, it was extremely cold, out on the airboat in the water. There was no mention before hand, so that customers could have dressed appropriately. Everyone on the excursion were wearing shorts, t-shirts et. Again because of the hurricane there were no facilities available on sight. Thank fully there were two women (who must have made a fortune) selling sweatshirts off too the side. Facilities included a washroom, and that was it. There were no restaurants and really nothing to see. This was the biggest money grab, I have even seen. The bus which was to drop customers at the appropriate airport terminals for their flights. stopped half way between 2 terminals and we had to take our luggage and walk to the terminal. Read Less

Though we've been on many cruises (on 3 other cruise lines), this is our first Celebrity cruise. Spouse and I traveled with our adult son and his friend. Our son had told us that Celebrity was simply the best and outperformed other cruise lines, and he was correct. Celebrity touts itself as a luxury cruise line; we certainly felt like royalty on this ship! SERVICE: Service is absolutely magnificent - in every arena -from the beverage and food servers, bartenders, room steward (see below), activities directors, customer service, etc, etc. Impeccable service is what sets Celebrity apart from our experiences on other cruise lines - truly its shining star! One is greeted with a hello, may I help you, etc. every time a crew member passes a guest. With every encounter with every Celebrity staff member, no matter the reason, service was outstanding. Service recovery is also excellent and issues immediately resolved. Before we left, I had called the Celebrity cruise line and was told I needed a passport (I have a passport card) and this was a closed loop cruise. I was mortified to be told this right before we left. I demanded (politely) to speak to something in authority. Alex, from customer recovery, came on the line, apologized for the person's error, assured us we would be fine with passport cards (and we also carried birth certificates), and then comped us a dinner at a speciality restaurant! On the cruise, one evening, the service was very slow at one of the specialty restaurants. The manager comped out meal to make it up to us! FOOD: Excellent! We tried 3 speciality restaurants - Murano was magnificent! My spouse, who doesn't like "fancy food" flipped over this place as did I! The main dining room (Grand Cuvee) was also terrific - loved the food. And who gets more than one lobster tail (big ones!) without asking for seconds! Special call out to our waiter - "cruising with Cruz" and his team -outstanding. Renzio and his team were also wonderful! The Ocean View Care - terrific - better assortment of foods by far than my favorite place there (Caesar's Palace)!! My husband (Italian) went nuts over all the Italian meats, cheeses - so hard to find but so delicious! Loved Cafe al Bacio for great lattes, pastries. Gelateria is a must also... BARS: Too many to go through here - but we tried every one and more than once! There are also 3 bars outside -Mast Bar&Grill, Sunset Bar, and a bar pool-side. ENTERTAINMENT/ACTIVITIES: We attended a show every night - great variety of shows by the ship's talented singers/dancers, comedians (2). There was also pool-side parties and games, and a really hilarious "silent disco" event twice - what fun! There was other entertainment - such as game shows, involving the guests, exercise/dance classes poolside (also great fun!), dance classes, and a myriad of other activities. Truly there is something for everyone. POOLS: There is outside pool and also an indoor pool area with chaises, hammocks, recliners, etc.. There is also an enclosed solarium area, very nice, with a pool. There are several spas. CROWD: It is an older crowd on Celebrity in that there weren't many younger couples, very few children; more subdued than Carnival, for example. SHIPS: We've only been on the one Celebrity cruise ship but is was elegant and beautiful. Son has been on others and says they are all nice. Some of the ships are older but have been renovated. Their newest ship, Edge, debuts soon, and guests could sample some of its new menu at the Grand Cuvee (we did - yummy!) SAVINGS: Recommend to purchase beverage package and gratuity package when booking (we got classic) - well worth the money upfront and a good savings overall. Recommend to purchase excursions also when booking (we did) or at least before sailing - much cheaper than on board. (Recommend St. Thomas Buck Island snorkeling tour and the Everglades airport tour if you have time to kill before flying home.) Next cruise will be Celebrity! Read Less

My partner and I chose this cruise because we hadn't been to the Eastern Caribbean and wanted to see some new places. Overall, we loved this ship. We got on the ship without issue. It was fast and well organized. I can honestly say that my only really complaint was our balcony room. The room itself was lovely and as expected. When I booked online it automatically selected a balcony on the 6th floor which was fine for us, but it didn't say that it was an obstructed view. We had two large white pillars to look at which was really disappointing. We would have selected a room on the 7th floor or higher if we knew this. I spoke to guest relations about it and they basically told me there was nothing they could do. It didn't ruin my trip but a little disappointing for sure. I gave it a 3 star only because of the obstructed view. The food was amazing! We ate in the MDR every night. The service was outstanding. Everyone was so friendly and nice and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. We didn't eat in the specialty dinning rooms as we thought the food was great in the MDR. We also chose anytime dinning and really enjoyed eating when we wanted. We had to wait each night but it was never more than 30 mins. They gave us a pager and we sat at the martini bar and had a pre dinner drink. The buffet was as good as any buffet would be. I never went hungry! The entertainment was good too. It's typical cruise ship entertainment. We enjoyed watching the shows each night. We went to San Juan, St. Thomas and St. Maarten. We enjoyed all three spots. Yes, there is damage from the hurricanes but it didn't effect our experience, if anything it was humbling. I've read a lot negative reviews about these spots and honestly, I don't know what they were expecting. And yes, the ships should be returning to these islands... tourism is their only industry. They need our tourism dollars and I was happy to spend money there. We did have difficulty finding chairs by the pool but that's because we are not early risers and didn't get out early enough. The only other complaint I had was our ship was rocking like crazy and it wasn't due to poor weather conditions. I have been on two other ships and never felt the boat like I did on this one. It's like something was wrong with their stabilizers. The first night it was smooth as glass. The rest of the cruise it was all over the place. There were times when I had to hold onto the wall so I didn't fall over. We were pretty nauseous on our second day and kept a low profile as a result. We stocked up on some gravol and dealt with it as best as we could. I really hope it was a stabilizer problem otherwise it was make us not return to this ship. I spoke with other passengers who had been on this ship before and toured the same island and said that it was not normal to be moving like this. We were up at the crack of dawn to get off the ship which was a little rough but we survived. The process again was very smooth. I would take the negative reviews about this ship with a grain of salt. A lot of "first world problems" for sure. If only receiving 4 shrimp instead of 5 on your shrimp cocktail or you didn't like the way your steak was cooked ruined your trip then you are likely you are a pretty sad individual. We met lots of great people and most were very pleased about their experience on the ship. Those that complained were your typical negative people who came across as people who would be difficult to satisfy and pretty whinny in general. This was my first experience with Celebrity and we will be back for sure. I had been on two cruises before this. In my opinion, this was much better than Norwegian and just as enjoyable if not a little better than Princess. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we had never cruised with Celebrity. We liked the itinerary and we got a good price. The ship was clean and easy to navigate. There are numerous quiet niches to sit and sip a cocktail as well as the lively, very fun Martini Bar where bartenders do fancy “tricks” to entertain and wow guests. The evening shows were good, but not spectacular, but there is no additional fee for them. Dining on the ship was great. Main dining was very good and we dined at 3 specialty restaurants. Murano (our favorite) and Lawn Club were excellent, while Tuscan was good, it didn’t wow us. There was room at the pool every time we went and we were able to find a chaise, although not always in the best spot. Music and games at the pool were great. All in all, we had a wonderful cruise. I scratch my head when I read any negative reviews of the Silhouette. For me my favorite ship out of 40 cruises on different lines. Why do I love this ship? It is a totally different vibe the second you embark. Yes, there are people trying to sell you upgrades on drink packages etc.. but have you ever looked at the smiles behind those products? I have never encountered as many warm smiles as I have on this ship! Embarkation took exactly five minutes on the Suite Line. We headed to the Ocean Cafe and had lunch while we waited for our cabins to become available. We had no problem finding a seat, and enjoyed some great salads, and Pasta made to order. Our Sky Suite was ready and we had champagne and other goodies waiting for us. Three out of four bags were there.. the 4 th was held because of a computer hub my friend had brought with her, which she has to turn in and got back at the end of the cruise. Our cabin was spotless, we met with our Butler, and Cabin Steward and then off to Muster. Dinners in the Luminae (Suites only) was amazing all 14 days. I have severe food allergies and they made it so I never felt deprived, and could enjoy several courses each night. The staff in Luminae are all amazing! We had the same waiter as the previous year, but got to know all the staff.. The shows were good! We noticed there was a bit of a difference in the Singers and Dancers big shows, even though it was the same show as the previous year! The other shows were very good.. loved the comedians and singing groups. A nice perk for Suites are the reserved seats for shows on Chic nights. The Michaels Club Suite Concierge gave us warm hugs when we saw her again... and she sent us many invitations over our two weeks, for different events. It is nice to be able to grab soda and water as we need it from the refrigerators there, and have a dedicated go to person... We never went to Cocktail hour because with the Go Best Premium Drink Package and being Elite, we never needed a drink lol.. The ship although not a young one was spotless. The pool in Solarium was a perfect temperature. Mast Grill was as good as always, and if we felt like healthier food, the food in the Solarium was very good! I had my nails done at the Spa...great job and really friendly nail technician. Internet worked great! There was live music all over the ship, and as always we were never bored! We booked again for 2020... That should say it all! Read Less

This was our third winter cruise on the Silhouette. We flew to Ft Lauderdale the day before just in case of inclement weather. A taxi from the hotel to the port was very easy unlike the shuttles we had taken in previous years. Embarkation was smooth. The line for Elite passengers was long but we have found this to happen on winter Florida cruises. We were on the ship before noon and the rooms were ready by 1 pm. We had a veranda cabin on deck 7 close to the Hideaway. They have a coffee machine in the Hideaway so if you are looking for coffee after 7am it’s and easy trip. We love to have our coffee on the veranda in the morning. The cabin was comfortable as usual and had lots of storage space. Our cabin steward Efram was very good and quickly caught on to our routines. . Our February cruise is always just a get away, to rest and relax..so we kept a very quiet schedule. I took the 6 night specialty dinner package and was a little disappointed with that. I had not realized when I purchased it that I could not make advanced dinner reservations with it. Those who didn’t have it were able to make advanced reservations for Valentines Day. I really don’t think it was fair. I never thought it would be a problem until I tried to make reservations. Murano and the Tuscan Grille were booked solid, as was the Lawn Club Grille . We ended up at Quisine, not my favorite at all. I was very disappointed. It took 3different attempts to try an book our dinner. I was finally referred to Carmen from Peru at the Tuscan Grille , and she was able to help me book the 6 dinners with much effort but I had to make some compromises. Murano and the Tuscan Grille were both excellent. The service was fantastic and the meal delicious. The Filet Mignon in the Tuscan was “melt in your mouth “tender and delicious. Breakfast in the buffet was good as always. You could always find what you wanted.lunch at the grill by the pool was tasty too and I love the soft ice cream. This ship had more than the usual chair hogs on sea days, but we were just as happy on the veranda on those days. We didn’t go to any of the shows so I can’t review those. The music in the grand Foyer was very nice in the evening. I would sit in the Hideaway and listen . We did book again for next year while on the ship and took advantage of the savings. Disembarkation was easy. We were in a taxi on our way to the airport by 9 am. Read Less

Had some real problems with my special dietary needs. I did everything I was supposed to do prior to the cruise and I also identified myself to the dining room assistant. Despite these measures, the people in charge were unable to get my meals correctly prepared until 2 days before the cruise ended. This was the first time that we upgraded to Concierge Class. It was very disappointing from check-in to supposed "special" amenities" for Concierge passengers. Several items listed clearly on the brochure were not present in the room. What is even more upsetting is that no one on the ship seemed to care either about the lack of attention to food preparation or to the missing items and the brochure claims. After the cruise, I contacted Celebrity Cares (poor name) and my concerns were never responded to. Needless to say, we are very upset about the lack of concern on the part of Celebrity. This is not the kind of service we have come to expect. We are about to move to "Elite" status. Seems like being loyal to a company, is only a one way street. Read Less
