got covid a few days after returning

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Celebrity Silhouette

Just wanted to know if anybody else on this sailing got covid when they returned home? I got it a few days after leaving ship. Otherwise had a nice cruise. Would prefer no days "at sea" . Ship was older, but revamped a few years back. Still looked old with dark interiors. A lot of illnesses could circulate inside a closed air conditioned ship, not just covid. Went on a 7 day Princess cruise ...

Celebrity getting better again (mostly!)

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Celebrity Silhouette

After half a dozen cruises with X with falling standards, we went to another company for 2 cruises but decided to give them another chance. Happy to say that in the main, things had got better. Embarkation was good with the exception of needing to show paper copies of Esta, which neither couple knew about. Although I had copies on my phone I needed to locate them but wasn’t given a chance, with ...

Celebrity is not as it used to be.

After 22 Celebrity cruises it was an almost automatic choice. We have always been delighted with the quality of food on Celebrity cruises. This time the food in the main dining room was mediocre at best and nowhere near what we were accustomed to. Even the speciality restaurants had lost any wow factor. As usual, all waiting staff were excellent but it must have been a challenge to stay ...

My first Celebrity cruise! For reference, I've sailed several times on Carnival (never again), Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian. Went on my first Norwegian cruise back in June and loved it so much I booked several more. ...and then came this Celebrity cruise. EMBARKATION - what? Ten minutes? If even? SPEEDIEST EMBARKATION EVER. CABIN - a surprise upgrade was awesome to get. Balcony ...

Great Ship With A Terrific Crew

We had a great time on our Silhouette cruise, our first on Celebrity after 16 on 4 other lines, mostly Royal Caribbean. There were many positives but I first want to comment on the crew - the Silhouette crew was hands down the friendliest we have ever sailed with. Everyone we came in contact with had a smile and a happy greeting for us; main dining staff were great and very efficient, buffet ...

Disappointed in our second Celebrity Cruise

Celebrity Silhouette January 29 to February 8, 2024 Our goal was to get away from the cold northern states, and we mostly enjoyed very nice weather. We booked this southern Caribbean cruise right after our first, very positive sailing with Celebrity. Unfortunately, this sailing was not comparable to our transatlantic on the Constellation. Precruise: We flew direct to FLL and stayed ...

Winter Cruising on Celebrity Silhouette

This cruise was our 7th on Celebrity and 40th overall. We prefer Celebrity because of the older clientele and the amenities that came with the booking. This included over $500 in on-board credit, complimentary wi-fi, and gratuities. Both of us are in our mid-70s and very fit for our ages. This allows us to use the stairs and avoid the often crowded elevators and walk throughout the port areas ...

First I want to say everyone that worked on the cruise went over and beyond our expectations. But the food in the dining room wasn't anywhere near 5 star. We were confused with 1 waiter 1 person to take wine order, 1 person for mixed drinks ect.... Never ever saw that before and made it hard to get drinks for everyone. With dinner at 6pm you won't be out by 7 for the shows. We did go the first 2 ...

Sailed on Celebrity Silhouette to southern Caribbean in January 2024. Stayed in a Sky Suite which included the Retreat experience. This made our cruise REALLY special! Luminae restaurant for breakfast and dinner as well as sea days was wonderful. Staff would get items that were not on the menu. Our suite steward had our room cleaned perfectly twice a day. The Retreat Lounge was so exclusive ...

I would like to start by thanking all of the kind souls here at Cruise Critic. You kept my travel desire going over the past four years with no travel, and the amount of knowledge that you share is astounding and selfless. About us: Mike 57 and my wife 59 have been cruising, doing all-inclusive’s or other travel since 2000. Both my wife and I have tried to be honest with our feelings about this ...
