Three generations including ten grandkids, 2 to 13 years. This was an ideal itinerary getting Texans out of the summer heat and seeing sights even many of the adult kids had never experienced. Celebrity has a good kids program and that was a major benefit.
Ship size was a compromise--large enough to have multiple activities and not so huge that there are no intimate spaces.
Ship was full ...
We had been on Celebrity before a couple of years ago but had done a second Marella Cruise in January which we thought had gone downhill so back to Celebrity. Alaska was on our bucket list. Not the fault of Celebrity but Seattle Airport is the pits. Queues so long we had to go down the escalator, round the block and back up stairs before we even got to the main queue so would never go back ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary and May sailing. The ship overall is very clean and pretty but is showing a little bit of wear and age. The crew is excellent and really makes this ship special. Our room steward was the best we have had on ten plus cruises. The staff in the Blu restaurant were excellent and the food overall was very good and wonderfully presented. The buffet was very ...
We just thought to try it once and see if it was for us. We had a good experience for most things except for the cost of buying cappuccino in the morning. It was so disappointing and distasteful that we poured it down the drain and said we will never buy it again. It cost about $9 each, what in the world for. What were we to spend the on board credit for? I sure didn't know and who to turn to ...
I booked early and got a good price on a GTO, otherwise you might have seen a different review from me. .
View from balcony was OK. Had some amusing exchanges with the bridge when I was on my balcony. View was a little obstructed and not very private.
Cabin was fine enough for two. I wouldn't put more than that in there. I wish that the TV was visible from the bed. I also wish they had ...
My daughter and I were with a group of 74. I am an single leg amputee and a full time electric wheelchair user. The embarking and disembarking process was very efficient. The staff in the buffet was extremely helpful in carrying and filling your plate and locating a table. The food was great in the MDR and the buffet. Specialty dining with Le Petit Chef was outstanding and the filet mignon very ...
This was the fourth cruise on Celebrity for my wife and me. We have been on this class of ship each time with Celebrity and like the cabins, ship amenities, and size. This was our second cruise with Celebrity this year after a Caribbean cruise in the spring. I had previously done the Alaska itinerary, but it was the first time for my wife. Due to the summer timing of this cruise, the ship had ...
We booked this cruise very last minute on July 8, for the July 22-29 sailing.
We flew non-stop the morning of the cruise from Sacramento to Seattle. We had fullfilled our Arrive-Can and pre-cruise Covid requirements online before we left.
Embarkation was frenetic. There were 2,524 passengers out of 2,850 capacity this sailing on the Solstice, or 88.6 % full.
Everyone that we talked to ...
This was our second time on a cruise and the first time on celebrity. To say the ship was dated and worn would be an understatement. Our cabin was an aft sunset verandah worth every penny for the view alone.
There were at least ten cases of COVID on our ship; no one was wearing a mask, only the staff.
Service was good, but there was an obvious language problem several times, but they did try ...
I chose Celebrity after being bumped at the last minute from a June 1 sailing of Cunard's Queen Elizabeth due to "staffing issues", despite being a Cunard Platinum World Club member. I chose Celebrity over Princess and Holland America because Celebrity is supposedly a "cut above" Princess in particular. (Tried Princess twice .. never again!)
PRICE: I feel like I got a pretty good deal on a ...
