We love cruising, but this was not our favorite.

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

We wanted to return to Alaska 32 years after our previous cruise. Ship was acceptable, a little worse for wear. Dining was disappointing, especially the specialty restaurants. Bars were adequate, and Martini Bar was a great show. We only went to one production show and it was good. Cruise Director was unfunny. Despite advance notices, the captain was also unfunny and difficult to understand. ...

16th Cruise and Solstice did not disappoint!

This my wife and I's 16th cruise in the last 6 years. We have cruised most of the large cruise lines such as Princess, Holland America, Carnival, and Royal. Having said that we have come to love Celebrity the most overall at this point for their consistent service. This is our second time on the Solstice class ships, and we still like the lay out and design of this ship than any other large line ...

Alaska Is Spectacular; Solstice Not So Much

To preface, we were on the 8/19 Seven Night Alaska Cruise. I was with my family (parents are in 50s, 2 children in 20s). This was our second cruise ever, the first being a six night Caribbean cruise with NCL. We were in an Aqua Class cabin which gave us access to Blu (the AquaClass restaurant) and some other amenities which seemed inconsequential in hindsight. Embarkation was very easy. Because ...

Celebrity service was beyond expectations.

This was our seventh cruise, the previous ones were all on Royal Caribbean. Because of the outstanding service, we are now sold on Celebrity. The staff consistently went out of its way to make sure that all of our wants and needs were met. We were traveling with my 92 year old mother in law. Our cabin was two decks below. We told the lady's cabin steward of the situation and Bernie was ...

A Cool Alaskan Cruise

This was our second cruise of the year, both with Celebrity, both on Solstice class ships. We took this trip with my wife's sister and her daughter, son-in-law, and their 8 month old son. 'We' are wife, husband, and their college age son. Except for our youngest member being on his first ship, our family was experienced cruisers on various lines including Celebrity. Our transcontinental air ...

Although we've cruised many times with Celebrity, this was our first voyage on the Solstace. It is a beautiful ship and very well maintained. We sailed round trip from Seattle. The crew was very good but no one stood out as exceptional. I've found that is pretty much the case on all Celebrity cruises these days. Service is always good but never great, as it used to be. The service and the ...

The ship is beautiful! The cabins are very nice, the shower, bed and the guys taking care of our room! The transfers from the airport and back to the airport were horrible! I really thought I was going to have to drive the bus back to the airport! Completely inept would be too nice of a word to use! After figuring out that pot is legal there, I can pretty much say with a large degree of ...

New Converts from Concierge Class to Aqua

I cruised to Alaska on a similar route 10 years or so ago on Infinity, loved it and was very excited to return this time with my husband who had never been. We chose to sail on Solstice as we love this class of ship and had never been to or sailed out of Seattle before. From the minute we were dropped off at the pier in Seattle until we cleared customs at the end of the week, everything worked ...

Just Good, Not Great

We wanted to go to Alaska from Seattle and have enjoyed our last 3 Celebrity cruises. Getting on the ship was a breeze and it was helpful to have concierge status. The ship is beautiful, the staff was great but food and entertainment have taken a big dip. Also, the Oceanview cafe on deck 14 smelled badly. My guess is years of spilled milk on the carpets. I admit that we have quite a few ...

The Ship: This ship is beautiful. It's decorated in a modern chic way. The chairs in all areas are very comfortable. The ships Captain also let us know what was going on and what weather to expect. Super friendly service all throughout. A very large library with lots of travel books to check out. A Glass blowing demonstration that was fun to watch. I have two disappointments with this Cruise ...
