My wife and I just got back from a 14 day crossing (from Barcelona to Ft. Lauderdale 10/18 to 11/02) aboard the Celebrity Reflection and have some comments about our experiences. We have been on 64 cruises with 27 of them being on Celebrity.
Our cabin:
First of all the cabin had to be the dustiest we’ve ever had. When we got on board my wife and I noticed that it wasn’t clean, however, being ...
Transatlantic cruising is not for everyone… but as a bucket list for many.
We have cruised 20+ with RCCL and Celebrity over last 20 years.
Three cruises this yr - 2 on Celebrity and one on a river cruise.
This is our 3rd cruise on reflection…and our last
Positives- the staff. From the officers down to the crew- excellent performance
Now for the not positive-
1) embarking and ...
Our first transatlantic and being elite passengers we were expecting a typical great cruise.
First off the staterooms appeared war torn from the curtains (which I had taken photos of) which appeared worn and frail to the smeared spots of what may have been dried chocolate or lipstick. The shower drain was clogged on initially turning on to shower! Yuc h, but was addressed immediately by our ...
WE have sailed with Celebrity many times before and have previously enjoyed an excellent cruise.
This is the first time sailing with them since Pandemic and wow, what a difference!
The ship was only half full and that was the only benefit as far as I was concerned, no queues!
Standards have fallen to an all time low with little or no consideration to the demographics of the passengers. ...
My husband and I traveled on Celebrity Reflection from Fort Lauderdale (April 13) to Civitavecchia. The vessel is reasonably elegant, our stateroom was comfortable with a large balcony, the room attendant was attentive, and the food was on a par with that of other ships that we have been on. However, our cruise was irredeemably marred by a number of unfortunate experiences and poor ...
We normally love Celebrity and like being at sea so a great deal on a suite on a transatlantic cruise should have resulted in a great trip. Sadly Luminae the Suite Restaurant was a huge let down. We had read great reviews and were expecting great things. Out of the first 7 meals 6 went back. Despite having a tomato allergy that they knew about, and constant reminders each time we dined, five ...
As Celebrity Elite members, and having sailed on most of the major cruise lines that market to customers in the U.S., we are sad to report that there were too many issues we encountered on this cruise to recommend Celebrity. The bottom-line: not one issue with the staff on the Reflection (that's saying something on a 16-day cruise!); the key issue was the quality of the management team. Truly ...
This was our 12th cruise and our second celebrity cruise. We were really looking forward to our cruise on the Reflection as we had so much enjoyed our cruise on the Equinox. The ship was beautiful and very easy to get around on. The room stewards and restaurant staff were outstanding and took very good care of us for the entire 16 days. We also very much enjoyed the "Beyond the Podium" lecture ...
I was really looking forward to this transatlantic cruise, we have been with RCI, Carnival, NCL and Princess previously but this was our first time with Celebrity and had heard lots of really good things about this cruiseline.
My overall opinion of this ship however was disappointingly poor.
There are very few public places where you can go and sit quietly without blaring rap music ...
Dining in the MDR was the worst I have experienced in 49 cruises on 3 cruise lines. Dinner service was slow and often served cold. Steaks were often overcooked as was the lobster, which was like rubber. As for the entertainment, it was mediocre except for one show called Reflection, which was excellent. Other than these disappointments and the cabin, the cruise was just average, which is not ...
