We have sailed on Celebrity Cruises before and as Captain Club members, we were not given any extra consideration, dining table were in hidden corners behind walls, we requested a move but, no one was interested. We enjoyed our Silhouette cruise and couldn't wait for this one, however, this cruise was a disappointment. Some food items and beverage types ran out days before the end of the cruise, this should never happen. If you pay for top packages the food and drinks should not run out. Our Spa treatments were all rushed and shortened in time with ongoing apologies regarding being overbooked. We were in formal dining areas with people wearing shorts and T-Shirts- this is not a high standard of quality, we respected the Dress Code but, staff did not follow them through with other passengers. This should not be the style of clothing. We look forward to sailing again, but enjoy high quality services. This was a disappointment. Read Less

The itinerary was excellent. Love that cruise ships going out of Dublin. The required need to use shuttle buses from makeshift passenger terminal was awkward. Much better at disembarktion. The staff friendly and very helpful. Food and overall service excellent. Staff did great job having cabins ready when guests boarded. Embarking and Disembarking was very smooth most of the time. Enjoyed Celebrity organized tours. The Destination Concierge was exceptional. Future Cruise staff very attentive and well informed. Felt the overall decor was a big miss. Art work, mostly dull or black and white very weird subject matter or abstract. Many chairs in public areas too low . Had a balcony room with 2 sharing...very small and sad inadequate storage. Had to keep climbing onto bed to access the over the bed storage bins. Inconvenient and dangerous. The Captain made appearances at events but otherwise was not very visible. The senior staff was out and about but were not particularly approachable. Read Less

We enjoyed everything about this cruise. The staff were amazing, ports were fun and the ship was beautiful. We had wonderful weather and we found all the ports very easy to navigate. We opted to do beach trips on our own and even though our son is in a wheelchair we found the taxis in each destination very easy to use. Our accessible cabin was very roomy and our stateroom attendant Nike was so efficient and accommodating. He made lots of fun towel animals for our son and left us beach towels each night on port days which was so helpful. The food on the ship was superb - for the entire cruise we chose to have a meal in the main dining room Opus and then the next night we would go to a speciality dining restaurant. In Opus our waiters Agus and Charles were fabulous, so quick, kind and smiley. All the speciality restaurants were great too - Qsine was a lot of fun, food in Tuscan was very good and Murano was up to scratch too but our favourite was the lawn club (thank you Goran). Ocean view was always clean with lots of choice. Buddi at breakfast time was such a delight and so kind to our son. We found the classic drinks package more than adequate and there wasn’t any problem getting a drink around the pool in the afternoon. We participated in some of the family activities hosted by the kids club and my son really enjoyed them. Patti and her team were so lovely and friendly. Noah loved meeting the Easter bunny at the Easter carnival and water games were a lot of fun, Entertainment was geared more to the adults than the children but we loved the production shows - Elysium was just amazing! We also had a lot of fun going to game shows hosted by Stephen (great tache) and Peter and we enjoyed listening to live music around the pool. My son really enjoyed the silent disco which was a new experience for me too! The staff in the shops were lovely. The ladies in Tiffany & Co were very helpful and Sergio in the art gallery was so sweet. The only negatives I can think of is that they could have done with cranking the air con up in the gym and we had problems initially with getting the Californian Chardonnay in Opus on our first night but other than that it was perfect. We met lots of lovely, kind people on the ship and we would love to go on another celebrity cruise in the future. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we wanted to see the ABC Islands and it did not disappoint. The Refelection is a beautiful ship. We had great weather, calm seas and the food and staff were wonderful. Passengers were frientdly and interesting and came from all parts of the world. The entertainment on board was excellent - great shows with talented singers and dancers. There was also live music throughout the ship every evening, which made for plenty of great nightlife. The islands we visited were great - Grand Cayman, Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire - beautiful beaches and shopping. Bonaire was great for snorkling and scuba diving. We also stopped at Cartagena, Columbia which was great fun. We took a shore excursion with Celebrity which included a tour of the walled city and a wonderful boat ride with lvie music, drinks and entertainment. Overall we would highly recommend Celebrity. This was our 6th cruise with them and we will definitely contineue to cruise Celebirty in the future! Read Less

We went on our first cruise to celebrate my 50th Birthday and wow, we were super impressed by Celebrity and were told by many cruise addicts, once aboard, that we had selected by far and away the best line and a great ship. Our concierge class cabin 1210, was excellent, with very comfortable bed and plenty of storage space for clothes, cases and other items. The balcony was excellent, with very comfortable loungers with foot stools. The ship itself (Reflection) is in excellent condition, very well maintained to high standards, it is clean, bright and safe. The crew, were all excellent, friendly, attentive and professional, our cabin steward, was amazing and took care of everything we wished for. Entertainment was very good, albeit 'toned' down somewhat, in particular the comedians, for a family audience. We were impressed with the overall ambience of the ship, with pretty much everyone onboard, being super friendly, polite and considerate of everybody around them. No louts, loudmouths or intimidating groups - which we were very pleased about. We went on a number of excursions, including Snorkel and Kayak, Mount Gay rum tour (I am a big fan and it was great), beach tours and plenty more. All was well organised, safe and stress free. All in all, this was a fantastic first cruise experience, which I can highly recommend to anyone who is not so sure it is for them. Read Less

Our second time on the ship was excellent. Th ship has wonderful, friendly and attentive staff. The ship is kept in top notch condition. We enjoyed the option of the indoor pool when it was to hot to stay out in the direct sun for more than a few hours. The entertainment, both on board staff and visiting entertainers was super. We ate at four of the specialty restaurants, and made sure to buy the "package" ahead of time to take advantage of the reduced price. We loved "QSine", Murano and the Lawn Club Grill. Felt that the steaks at the Tuscany tasted "processed" or tenderized and was our least favorite of the four. Did an excursion in Cartagenia to "old town". Be prepared there and around town to be swarmed by people selling stuff. And when you say "no" to one, another one arrives right behind, and they just keep on coming. We were not able to enjoy our tour or even hear our guide as a result. Also, traffic moves really, really slow. On retrospect, we would have been better off staying by the ship and visiting the great little zoo there. Our only complaint over the whole cruise was the Casino onboard is VERY tight, especially the slot machines. We didn't see anyone win anything. Also, be careful about betting limits. The one guy over the 11 nights on the cruise we saw win anything hit a Royal Flush at the ultimate Texas Holdem table. He should have been paid close to $7500 with his bets on the table. However they paid him only $5000. When his friend asked where the rest of the money was, they pointed to the fine print on the little board at the corner of the table which said the maximum payout was $5000. What a shame. Our cabin. a deluxe veranda was nice and well kept by our state room attendant, it just had insufficient space (just 3 small drawers) to store our clothes. Nice bathroom with plenty of space but the "night lite" that we could not turn off was too bright and woke you up when you went in during the middle of the night. Read Less

Starting from Fort Lauderdale is always our choice - such a lovely port. We stayed in Hollywood for 3 nights pre-cruise (see separate TripAdvisor review). Mardi Gras in New Orleans was the highlight of this cruise. We chose it because we had never been to New Orleans. What a spectacle! And the Reflection made the most of it, with purple, green and gold decorations, events for all cruisers and especially for Captains Club, and the music. I can't say enough about "Big Mike"' musical director, band leader, trombone player par excellence! Also, Ray Brown Jr Jazz band, Danny Smart singer/guitar player, and Starlight Duo cello and violin were all fantastic. Celebrity CEO Linda joined us in New Orleans, and again in Grand Cayman to celebrate International Women's Day. She is very enthusiastic and delightful to meet. We received useful "Celebrate with the CEO" gifts in our cabin almost every day! The Reflection docked in NOLA starboard side to the dock, right at the end of Julia St. It was a short walk up it to the Bacchus parade route on Sunday night - perfect! And an easy walk the next day into the French Quarter. The parade is not visible from the ship because of the large Convention Centre and Riverwalk Outlets buildings at the dock. The Reflection has several large foyers for entertainment as well as numerous bars. Our only criticism was that the Ensemble lounge was always packed and we could not get a seat to listen to Ray Brown! The evening shows were all excellent, especially Broken Strings, Elysium, and Euphoria by the Reflection cast of singers, dancers and acrobats. We enjoyed a backstage tour with Emma, the lead singer/dancer. These kids have boundless energy! Read Less

Reflection is a pleasant place never feeling crowded. Pools are small and chilly but that is normal. Dining staff at Blu is business like and distant unless asking for a good review. Aqua class gives easy access to way overpriced spa and silly heated tile covered couches. Aqua class offers little benefit over a standard balcony room. There are lots of small areas for socializing that probably account for the uncrowned feeling. The espresso service is staffed by untrained and ignorant people that seem inconvenienced when asked for an espresso drink that is not a latte or cappuccino. The ship functioned well as far as embarking and disembarking went. On and off quickly and without incident. We traveled with friends and had no problems dining together or finding time to be alone. Again, the ship somehow manages to feel uncrowded even with more than 3000 passengers surrounding us. The shore excursions mostly went off without problems. St Kitts had a steel band cruise that went to a different beach than advertised which was crowded, windy, messy, and had chairs and umbrellas for rent which was not mentioned in description. Also the boat was not able to stay accessible during visit. Caribbean beaches in my experience are very windy with difficult access though stony uneven walk through the beach break. In general a pretty ship that had a staff more interested in getting things their way than making me feel comfortable. Read Less

Getting on/off the ship was pretty smooth. Our room was fabulous as was our stateroom attendant. The entertainment was top notch and the cruise director as well. The live music was also great, especially the band 'Music Soup' and the string duo. The ship is beautiful, well maintained and clean with the exception of the public bathrooms at peak times. The itinerary was great and we had smooth sailing throughout. With the exception of the Martini Bar, all the bar staff were below par. The work inefficiently and not as a team. I sat through an entire set of 45 min. in the Sky Lounge and the Ensemble Lounge without anybody coming by and asking for service. To get a drink at lunch in the Oceanview Café is challenge as well. The ATM only spits out $ 50 bills and guests relations was not in a position to provide change. I'm sure in cooperation with the casino, this could be accomodated. The big 'rose' sculpture in the Foyer is in the wrong place when you want to dance. We ate at Murano, Sushi on 5 and the Porch - all outstanding food and service. Worth the extra money. The food in main dining room was tired and uninspired as was the room service food. The Food in the Oceanview Café was actually much better since you can have any meat grilled. The service we had in the main dining room was below standard with the notable exception of the Asst. waiter. The sommelier was pretty useless and had a massive chip on his shoulder. We know they can do better and would definitly go again. Read Less

We chose celebrity reflection due to the good reviews and also bad reviews from other cruise lines. For our first cruise this one came out best. Excellent food in all restaurants, entertainment for all types of people, Internet a bit hit and miss, but that’s nothing really when going on a holiday to relax. Captain was a blast, very good sense of humour, cruise director kept everyone entertained. Excursions from the ship were well organised, the embarkation and disembarkation were first class, to get over 3000 persons off the ship in an organised manor was excellent. We met some very good friends that will be friends forever. We had very good times at the Martini bar most nights, the staff here worker really hard. Not forgetting the unsung hero’s of the ship, the room attendants who always made sure our stateroom was in tip top condition Will definitely be going on a celebrity cruise again Read Less

We have sailed with Celebrity about 17 times. We've also sailed with Princess, Royal Caribbean, and other lines, but Celebrity has been our favorite. The public rooms are spotless and beautiful. The Ocean Grill had many options and much variety, which we enjoyed. The Opus Dining Room served good food as well, although the last evening the service was exceptionally slow and we didn't finish our meal until 10:15 PM, which was too late. We will not get the late seating again. We enjoyed the music, entertainment, and ports. Celebrity really takes care of its guests. Returning from the ports, weary guests were greeted by employees handing out cucumber water and cold towels. Embarkation and debarkation were a breeze, and the final transfer on the bus to Rome made our lives so much easier than getting a taxi and hauling our luggage to the train to the airport in Rome. Things have certainly changed since our earlier cruises on Celebrity, where the dining room served the many courses separately (salads, soups, entrees, etc). We used to get a beautifully illustrated, large parchment menu listing the choices. Formal night was truly formal. Now there is only one formal night and the dress ranged from evening gowns and tuxedos to couples wearing jeans. The dress code should really be enforced or formal night should just be eliminated. The selection of tv channels was very poor; that is one improvement Celebrity should make. The meals were good, but absolutely no comparison to the meals under Chef Michel Roux. Those were outstanding, memorable meals and exquisite desserts. Costs go up and times change. Overall we had an excellent experience on the Reflection and look forward to our next cruise. Read Less

Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to cancel an earlier cruise, so when I saw a tremendous deal offered for this one, my wife Rosy and I jumped at the chance, although it was on a much larger ship than we have become used to. We were quoted around £2900 each for a Sky suite, including premium beverage package, wifi, gratuities and $300 OBC, virtually an all-inclusive cruise, but Celebrity had other ideas, - more later! We booked flights, with Alitalia from London-Rome, with two nights at the Hotel Morgana, situated very close to Termini station, very convenient for arrival and departure. They had offered a ‘birthday’ upgrade, but on arrival they sprung a nice surprise. We were allocated a private apartment about 50m away, with private entrance and balcony overlooking some nice gardens. The soft drinks in the fridge were free and tea / coffee making things were also provided. A comprehensive buffet breakfast was served in the hotel and on my birthday, they served us Prosecco and a nice chocolate cake. We toured Rome using a 48-hour ticket for all local transport, but some buses / routes were cancelled, and this caused us a few problems. We should have stuck to the more reliable, if boring, metro service. We used the airport express to Rome and if booked in advance useful discounts are available. For the journey to the port at Civitavecchia, we took the train, which was packed, then the port bus, then the port shuttle. In future we’ll book a shuttle or taxi, as our option was very tiring. Check-in was a breeze, once we realised we had to drop the bags then get in the check-in line. Others made the same mistake, but the Rome Port Authority don’t make life too easy. We were soon onboard, drinking our welcome bubbly and eagerly anticipating our cruise. We decided to have a pre-lunch cocktail outside as the weather was good, having experienced rain on the way. However, it was quite windy, and the sea was choppy outside the shelter of the harbour. We ate a healthy lunch in the Ocean View Café, sitting outside, but bar service was slow, an unfortunate feature of this location. They need to move some of the upselling staff to jobs serving people what they had already paid for! After lunch we went to our suite 2111, which was a welcome sight with chilling champagne, a large bed, sofa and picture windows. The balcony was huge, but being under the overhang, we got very little sunshine. The bath tub was a jacuzzi and the rain shower was nice but lacked power. Our butler, Bojan, seemed keener to discuss English soccer than anything else, but did say that as were on a Premium package, all the contents of the mini-bar were included, not that we used any apart from the water. Our steward, Raj, was excellent, until the final morning when he rang the doorbell and walked right in, at 07.45. We were not amused. I feel that once the staff have had their gratuities, they are no longer interested, thinking only of their next victims (guests)! Each evening we enjoyed dinner in Luminae, the suite restaurant, which was an enjoyable experience, but the menu was limited. The Sommelier was very good as was the wine. We at breakfast mostly in the Aqua Café, with cereal from the OVC. This was a nice peaceful experience, contrasting starkly with the buffet. We also had lunch in the OVC, which offered a grand selection of dishes ENTERTAINMENT We found the guest entertainers were generally very good but didn’t much care for the shows by the ship’s singers and dancers. There were a few game shows which were good and bad. One aspect we hated was the constant attempts at upselling, restaurants, packages, art, bingo, photos, etc. We even received restaurant reservations, which we hadn’t booked. Unusually, we didn’t receive any recognition as members of the Captain’s club, until we pointed this out, nor any notification of our OBC. The internet was decent, which went well with our ability to use our home phone packages, as were in Europe. The weather was pretty good, but the mornings were dark, which we didn’t like. Overall an enjoyable cruise, but many venues were too noisy and we concluded that we prefer the smaller lines, like Seabourn, Regent, Crystal and Azamara. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we have cruised with Celebrity a number of times and this ship twice before. We already have 2 more cruises booked on the Reflection. Of more than 35 cruises over the past 25 years, we have found Celebrity in general and Reflection in particular, to be the best. The ship is beautiful and always sparking clean. The food is excellent. We usually get a small suite and that gives us access to Luminae, the suite special restaurant with its own chef. the food is excellent and the staff at Luminae is made up of the best of the best. They are warm and inviting and constantly strive to make your experience fantastic. Our waiter this time was Jose whose menu recommendations were always spot on. The ship truly is spic and span with constant cleaning including the public rest rooms. Tours were very good. In Rome, we actually booked private tours with a company not affiliated with the ship. All around Italy (info@allarounditaly.com) with Fabrizio and Valentino. They were fantastic. In 2 days, we saw more of Rome than we ever could have in a week on our own. Drove us in a Mercedes van directly to the Vatican and Colosseum as well as many other sites and their English was excellent. The entertainment on Reflection was varied and top quality. The ship's band was excellent as well. Overall, I cannot think of enough superlatives for this ship and its crew. Read Less

My first Celebrity cruise. I was part of an organized local bridge group of about 25 fun-loving persons. However, playing bridge was optional (thank goodness). At first sight I found the cabin small but well maintained and very comfortable. Loved the shower in the bathroom. Our balcony was larger than usual because our cabin was located on the part of the ship that jutted out. However there was not a lounge chair or even a foot rest with the reclining chairs on our balcony so sitting on the balcony was not totally comfortable for me. The ship was lovely and the entertainment good. The ship's singers and dancers were very talented, but I had trouble understanding the themes of some of their shows and wished for closed caption to know the words for some of the songs they sang. Ate only in the dining room at a designated table. The food was excellent, the service staff supreme, and the wine server exceeded any expectations I might have had. My first time for a beverage package. Though I am a moderate drinker, I enjoyed trying different wines and drinks and visited every lounge on the ship. The bar staff was above and beyond in every circumstance. Their expertise, talent, attentiveness and patience was commendable and a source of entertainment and enjoyment. I met some wonderful people and had a good time. Hope to cruise again. Read Less

This was our 8th cruise (3rd with Celebrity, 2nd on Reflection). We are a married couple in our late 40s with no young children and we love cruising. I am sorry to say that I am not sure Celebrity can say the same any more. I will detail the positives first as there were many more of those. First, the ship is beautiful. It is a wonder to behold. Art everywhere and very cool. Having just gotten out of an abbreviated dry dock, it should. (more on that) All in the crew were amazing. Always a smile, a hello, an eagerness to help and many instances of above and beyond service. Our waiter Canaca and Asst. Waiter Asri were delightful and stopped at nothing to make sure we were absolutely happy. Same goes for our room Steward Dhanveer. He was the most attentive steward we have ever had and kept our cabin tip top clean and responded to any request quickly. Thank you all. The food in the MDR was outstanding and excellent choices were available every night. I made one poor choice and as soon as Canaca realized I wasn't happy he move to give me another option. No complaints at all. We went on 3 excursions, 1 each in Antigua, Barbados and St. Lucia. All were fairly priced and were very well done and quite enjoyable. The entertainment was good. The guest performers were very good. The staff singers/dancers were good, but seemed a notch below other celebrity staffs. The onboard activities were the same old/same old. Trivia/Bingo/Dances. Other things like pool Olympics were cancelled due to weather. Other things were cancelled to relocated with no announcements. This was my major issue with the overall experience. First, Mariana and Chicko (activity staff were excellent, although Chicko disappeared after the first two days (he either transferred or went on vacation). Beyond that, the Activity Director, Charlotte, is in the wrong position. Very little energy and at times rude. The enjoyment of the activities is based soley on the staff. If no energy given, non given back. This really needs to be addressed. Another item to be addressed is the venue choices for activities. Most of the dancing was held in the Grand Foyer which has room for about 20 people. It is not conducive to anything. Rethink this. And finally at the top of the chain here, the Cruise Director Maarten (his last cruise on Reflection) was absent except to introduce an event. Minimal announcements and very low visibility with the guests. The pool area crowded on sea days. No surprise. The brass of all the cruise lines need to get together to solve this. The chair hogs were in full force. Towels on chairs by 7 am and left there 1/2 the day and never used and little to no action by staff to rectify. Get out to the pool at 845 after gym and breakfast and all chairs gone and only 30% actually occupied. The captain was very hands off, he made his announcement every day but very little mingling with the crew. No big deal, just noticeable. Finally, the cost cutting. Little things that stand out to an experienced cruiser. Towel Animals in the Cabins. A cute little thing that is missed because it was fun to comeback to at night. The singing by the waiters was missed. No big deal but things like that just add to the fun of cruising. Bigger things - My wife and I had the drink package. At $55 at day for the classic package, why is beer (Stella, Grolsh priced at $10 a bottle so you need the premium package or pay $1 more?) Also, why is Frangelico (a $25 bottle of liqueur) price at $10 a shot and on the premium package. It just felt so blatantly greedy it was quite disappointing. One thing I was surprised with was even though just out of dry dock was surprised by how many chairs were threadbare. One last item, and this is for Celebrity Brass. The Lawn. This is an absolute waste of space. Real grass! Wow! So what? We left land to go on a cruise. And it is so fragile that there are signs for people to stay off the grass! A new big screen installed that you can only watch on the grass that they don't want you on. Rethink this space. It can be used so much better. More lounge space. A dance space (brilliant), a night club, something. Please. Fix it! Read Less

We were scheduled to sail the Reflection with two other couples on February 19th. We had a conflict and at the last minute we switched to the January 19th cruise. Our cabin steward, Meynard was wonderful. Always accommodating and always available. When we got to our cabin I used the hand towel in the bathroom. It was thread bear. Should have been in the rag bag six months ago. The back of the clicker did not stay on and the batteries kept falling out. Meynard put tape over it to eliminate that problem. The mattress was not good at all. They had a two inch pad over it. To me, a sure sign that it was worn. We ate breakfast and lunch in the Ocean Cafe. On three occasions the silverware was dirty at best. The main dining room staff was excellent, but the food not so great. I realize that because of the waste, they need to cut down on the portions, but some were incredibly small. The shrimp cocktail appetizer consisted of 3 small shrimp. The NY strip steak which is on the menu every night was much too thin. On Wednesday, January 24th, my wife had a shrimp dish as her main meal. At 8pm she became violently ill with dysentery and vomiting continuously for over four hours. I certainly suspect food poisoning. We had a comp for the Murano Restaurant. We ate there on the 27th. My wife ordered the lobster tail, which was prepared tableside. It was excellent, but the portion was minute. I have seen bigger shrimp than the two pieces of lobster tail. I ordered the chateau-briand rare. The waiter brought it table side and when he took the cover off the plate it was steaming as if it had just come out of the broiler. He then immediately cut the fillet in slices. Any one who know about cooking knows that beef must sit at least five minutes before cutting. As a result the beef bled out and all the juice was on the cutting board. This is our fourth cruise on Celebrity and certainly the least enjoyed. Last year we sailed the Equinox in February. The difference is night and day! Read Less

Where the ship docked for both of these stops was possibly in the worst are possible. Puerto Limon is an absolute ghetto. The bus ride to our tour was very depressing. Colon was not much better in Panama. Both of these need to be upgraded or else dock in elsewhere. To complicate matters in Panama, we took the "Wonders of Engineering" tour. This turned out to be 8 hours of hell. 12 buses, and two boats. Waiting for a larger ship to go through the canals. Zero fun. Cruise line refunded $42.00 per person for a tour that cost $189.00 per person. As far as the ship itself, we could easily see where Celebrity is making cuts in the amenities they provide. We have been Aqua Class for our last several cruises. In the beginning we received bottled water every day, along with ice. The bottled water has been eliminated, and now if you want ice, you have to ask for it. One perk of staying in Aqua Class is being able to eat in the Blu restaurant. The menu choices have been cut back, the portions have gotten smaller, and the quality has slid in our opinion. Another area that was lacking was the entertainment. While other cruise lines have brought in Broadway plays, and big name acts; Celebrity is putting on the same old cast shows and mediocre, at best comics and musicians. This area can really use an upgrade. Read Less

This was our first cruise on Reflection after cruising on the Silhouette 3 times. The ships are very similar which was nice. The embarkation was a bit longer than we have previously encountered in the Port, but once on the ship our relaxing vacation began with the welcoming glass of champagne. Once are cabin was ready I was very happy to see how clean the room was and our luggage was delivered very quickly. We travel in a group with 3 adjoining rooms and our balconies were opened so we could all sit out and relax together. We ate most dinners in the main dining room and the food and staff were all amazing. We looked forward to dinner each night. The buffet was also very clean and well stocked with many choices for breakfast and lunch and snacks any time you needed a little something. We enjoyed our sea days at the pool. There were not as many activities as we had on previous Celebrity cruises at the pool, except for on the last sea day. The first sea day was very windy so if they had some planned for that day they were probably cancelled. The ports we visited were all very nice. We enjoyed going to the beach at each port to relax and enjoy the tropical weather. Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the ports and the ships rating. We drove to Fort Lauderdale the night before and stayed in a Cruise and Park Hotel (Holiday Inn Express). The shuttle and breakfast are included in the hotel price. Embarkation was standard with no difficulties. The ship's previous cruise had experienced a Norovirus breakout and the ship had 78 hour requirements. That meant that no one could serve themselves in the Oceanview Café and that the ship's crew had been spending extra hours cleaning. Rooms where the people had the virus were marked with little yellow stickers. We were lucky and did not get a cabin with a yellow sticker. We were in Room 6174 with a balcony. The room had great storage and a large balcony. The life boats were visible from the bottom of the balcony but did not really impact the view. The cabin was dated in décor as is the whole ship. It looks like something out of the 70's or 80's, with lots of orange and brown colors and outdated pictures on the walls. The ship has not large encompassing atrium. Instead it has segmented sections and a bar at every turn - 15 in all. Drinking seems to be one of the main activities on board. At breakfast you are always asked if you would like a drink. We don't drink and found it awkward. The beautiful library opens to the strange atrium and the elevators so what would be a nice place to relax is noisy and the chairs are extremely uncomfortable. We found the only comfortable place to sit was at the Aqua Café. There are few tables there and you are lucky to find on that is clear of dishes. There are lounge chairs that surround the pools but no tables. The lounge chairs are low to the ground and difficult to get in and out of as are most of the chairs on the cruise. They are terribly outdated. The food in the dining room is good. The lighting is bad and it is wise to take a small flash light with you so that you can read the menu. There is usually a candle that puts out no light and everyone complained about not being able to see to read the menu. The dining room staff was the highlight of the cruise. Duarte and Edriel were thoughtful and efficient. The hostess at the front was a power monger. The 7000 phone line allowed you to reserve your table for the whole cruise. She said absolutely not that she was in charge and you had to call everyday. It was a ridiculous situation. Our cabin steward was overworked and missed cleaning our room twice. He walked in on us twice without knocking. I would advise that whenever you are in the room that you put out the "do not disturb" sign. The hot tub only bubbles - no jets and the button the operates the bubbles doesn't work properly. You have to slam it very hard to make it work. Lots of bubbles but no jets. The entertainment was good and the Entertainment Director (Martin) did a good job. The acts were varied and had to meet a wide range of ethnic backgrounds as there were many Europeans on board. The ship got in late to the Cayman Islands and we were put on an overloaded tender. I had to sit on the steps and as we started out the water from on top of the tender came down on me, like a bucket of water was dumped on my head. Cartagena, Columbia was frightening. We were surrounded by vendors that would not take no for an answer. It was so bad that we could not take pictures and could hardly wait to get back on the tour bus. The tour guide said that we should feel sorry for the poor immigrants, but what we felt was overwhelming fear. On the last sea day the maintenance crew decided to change the filters on deck 6. The hallways filled with smoke and dust causing me to have a frightful asthma attack. We called and asked for a mask so that we could leave the room and were very concerned that the bad air would penetrate the cabin. Obviously, I would not recommend this ship to anyone, unless they liked the 70's and intended to drink from morning until night. Read Less

Recommended by family member and friends. Beautiful ship and ports of call where great. Boring ship otherwise unless you gamble and drink a lot. Behind the Lectern talks where very good by excellent speakers. Aqua class not worth the money. Blu was crowded had to wait for a table and service slow and food cold. Menu lackluster. Room service was excellent, Oasis food court was very good with a nice selection all day. shore excursions where well organized and efficient. Nice variety of events. On and of the ship a little slow single thread thru security could have used more staff. ship overall ad nice amenities and was well laid out getting from point a to point b. Lawn club was very nice. Pool areas spacious and lots of seating a supply of towels. Staff where very pleasant is most areas. Our stateroom steward was excellent except for turning over the room the evening before our departure and locked out of refrigerator(?) Last Morning our room key did not work. that was not a pleasant farewell. Read Less

This is our third cruise on the Reflection.(7th with Celebrity) The ship is clean, glowing and beautifully decorated for the holidays. The staff were all accommodating, friendly, professional and courteous. Jamie in the Opus dining room was always so pleasant and able to target exactly what we wanted to eat! Everything was delicious--- and way more than we needed! We enjoyed the Sushi on 5 twice! ( it was THAT good!) The service and food were exemplary. Honestly the freshest sushi we have had. ( granted we live in Colorado, where we are FAR from any seas!) Our ultimate favorite is still the Murano-- which we also enjoyed twice! Such wonderful ways to be spoiled! And we LOVED it! We LOVE the martini bar-- PUTU saw us coming and immediately made our drinks to perfection! So fun! We branched out of our comfort shell and tried SILENT DISCO. Everyone wears headphones and selects whichever music channel suits them. Then you dance. Everyone dances every which way and it was A BLAST!! We did it another night too! What fun!! The Captain is just so FUN! His daily announcements were just a hoot! We LOVE Celebrity and hope to be on more adventures in the future! Itinerary: Grand Cayman- We have been to Grand Cayman before- so this time we took a helicopter tour! What an AMAZING way to see a gorgeous island! SO incredible! We can cross that off of our bucket list! Cartagenia, Columbia- We took a trolley tour of the old walled city. LOTS of street vendors.... "No, Gracias" very firm.. but you must repeat it several times.. or, buy lots of street wares! The port is nicely laid out with flamingos, parrots and an entire Aviary- very unique! It was hot, humid, educational and interesting. Aruba- Overnight in Aruba--- we did a sunset cruise the first evening and the sunset was GORGEOUS! The next day we grabbed a taxi to EAGLE BEACH. The water and sand were just heavenly! I could go back to stay there someday! Curacao- We watch sea turtles from our balcony when we docked. It was cool to see! We ended up taking a bus tour around the island. Saw where Columbus landed to claim the island. LARGE iguanas. The fort, the Curacao factory ( with tasting!) The beach that we stopped at looked crowded. But, if that is where all of the tour buses stop that makes sense. Lovely town and shopping. Bonaire - We took a taxi to Sorobon beach on the other side of the island and it was lovely! We were the first people there and enjoyed watching the crabs peek out of their holes! The water was delightful, but it was windy--- several wind surfers made us a bit wary to snorkel, but we enjoyed the sun, water and experience. The town had cute little shops and tents-- we did quite a bit of shopping and stopped for a couple of beers to check our emails via their WIFI. We ENJOYED the last 2 sea days to RELAX!! So much fun seeing a beautiful part of the world! Read Less

A friend suggested this sailing to us and we jumped on the bandwagon so to speak. We booked nine months before the sailing so it took awhile to get here. We invited some friends and family to join us and we ended up being a very compatible group of eight. We decided to do Aqua Class for the main benefit of eating in Blu. This particular cruise we never stepped into the spa. But our friends did quite a bit with massages, teeth whitening facials and cosmetic enhancements. I only had one disappointing dinner in Blu with the remainder being excellent. We were able to be assigned the same table for eight at 6:30 each evening. The front desk of Blu called it "request" since no reservations are to be made in advance. The lovely lady (wish I remembered her name) was so sweet and gracious that stood at the door of Blu. The restaurant manager stopped by and visited with us each evening and we always enjoyed talking to him. He was so tall and towards the end of our cruise I got up the courage to ask his height. Whopping 6 foot 7 inches! Our group spanned three generations with one couple in their early 30's, two others in their fifties and my husband and I in our 70's. The youngsters partied until the wee hours each evening without us. We were usually in our stateroom by 11:00 most nights. We did notice less choices on the menus. It appears corners are being cut. Aqua Class has gotten very expensive. We used to get really nice pens but now they pass out these very cheap plastic throwaway pens. I know that sounds picky on my part but the old pens were lovely and these new ones are a piece of crap. The cruise Director Maarten Breuls was a hoot but actually the entire crew made us laugh or smile continuously. Our Captain was Demitrios Kafetzis and he is simply the best. His personality brings humor into his daily announcements and he was very approachable. We had sailed with him in 2010 aboard the Solstice and were so happy to be on another sailing with him. Maarten did a wonderful job in introducing us to Julie who managed guest relations. We loved his Tonight Show. Another shining star was Chico from the Activities department. Boy talk about an underemployed entertainer! He put on a performance on the main stage that was worthy of five stars! He recieved a several minute standing ovation at the end of his performance. My only suggestion to Maarten would be a different barber for his haircuts! Guess I am getting old! The entertainment was great thru out the entire cruise. The comedian was one of the funniest I have ever heard! We went to all three of his performances and my husband had tears running down his face because he was so good. Embarkation was delayed due to Noro virus on the previous cruise but we were notified in advance to delay arriving at the pier. No problem at all. Luggage was delayed arriving to the stateroom but that was just a minor bump in the road. No problem at all with disembarkingl. We had downloaded the Customs APP on our phone so we got to enter a very short line. Ocean view cafe has lots of food choices but nothing I fell in love about. The burgers above the pool were awesome! We did two shore excursions. First one was in Cartagena called the Amazing boat and fort tour or something like that. Never again because we were extremely haunted during the entire excursion by hackers begging us to buy their wares! I am happy to say I saw this city but I never want to return! Our other excursion was in Bonaire and it was a privately arranged one. It was a snorkel and sail that was excellent. It is highly recommended on trip advisor.. I think it was called Woodwind or something similar. Our entire time aboard the Reflection was near perfect. We truly enjoyed every single moment. Cheers, JoAnne Read Less

The Celebrity Reflection repositioning cruise was an excellent experience, with great weather and lots of options for enrichment, entertainment and relaxation. We chose Celebrity Reflection because of previous very pleasant sailing on the ship; its beautifully designed & spacious multiple spaces that are open and airy; its understated elegance, its arts collection, the wonderful dining venues and innovative delicious menus, the bars, its impeccable "going the extra mile" service from all levels from the cabin stewards, to the restaurant and bar staff, the officers and the staff at gangways, Guest Relations and Excursions desk; and lastly but not last, the enrichment activities, fitness and entertainment -its absolutely wonderful. The crossing was excellent and Celebrity delivered again. I believe that Celebrity offers the best value for its category. Want to recognize the captain Dimitry who was by far the most friendly, amiable and visibly-present throughout the ship I have ever experienced on any prior cruise. We went out of his way to make guests, welcomed, appreciated and entertained. Thanks Captain. Read Less
