A little bit than over a year ago, my family and myself went on a cruise on the Celebrity Reflection. Weather was awful, but it's not anybody's fault. On our way, we stopped in Cozumel where we did a little shopping, based on the TRUSTEE map Celebrity gave us. With a small money inherited from her recent father's death, my wife bought a diamond ring in a jewellery store called Silver of the seas. Back in our hometown, we went to a local store to get it evaluated; it turned out it was a fake diamond (and fake gold), even if the store gave us a certificate of appraisal that I signed, considering that the store was recommended by Celebrity. We tried to contact the seller who would not return our calls. We reached to Celebrity to get help as this shop was on the map (and the logo Celebrity cruise was on the door of the store), but they were not able to help. The reason: yes, the adress was the right one, but the name on the invoice was not the one they had in file. So the shopping guaranty will not apply. The store just changed the name at the top of the check.... We tried to reach the credit card company I paid with, but they can't help: it's a fraud but not on the card, on merchandise. So they are not responsible for that. We tried to get back to Celebrity a few times (and to the store) but no luck. The only chance we have now, is to hire a lawyer, but because we are in Canada and the store in Mexico, the cost would be too high. So 1- never trust Celebrity with the guaranty. They will not help... 2- don't shop at that store. Rings are looking great, prices are ok, but they are fake. I will continue trying to reach Celebrity cruise, but hopefully, this review will prevent other people to trust their guaranty of shopping! As for the boat itself, we were in a bad weather week so the trip was not as fun as previous cruises. Activies and shows on the boat are OK, but less entertaining than Carnival for example, even if the technical quality of the shows is better. Dining is ok, but the choices of menu is not at all sophisticated in the dining room. You need to go into restaurant for more choices... and more money. And small detail, if you go to the casino, you can't play with your room card. You need to bring real money. Over all, Celebrity was a deception for us. We heard a lot of good things, and were expecting a little more but we found it was a little less than Carnival (except for the age average that was really higher). And never, never trust the «shop ashore» garanty with Celebrity. Internet is filled with horror stories like ours where they did not help the customer. This was our last Celebrity Cruise. Read Less

We have cruised with many cruise lines over the years and last year we had the wonderful pleasure of cruising on the Celebrity Eclipse and we loved it. The ship, the food, in fact everything was perfect so we booked an Aqua Class cabin Christmas Caribbean this year without hesitation on the sister ship 'Refelection'. Embarkation was busy, however you expect that on a big ship. We stayed with friends in Miami prior to joinung the ship so we were ready and excited for our cruise. The ship was very similar BUT we feel that Celebrity seem to be cutting back so much it was like chalk and cheese. How could 2 cruises be so different? For us we loved the sail always on the Eclipse, picture the scene ........ sat on real grass on lawn club seats being served wine and cheese with a lovely duo playing in the background. Pure class which made Celebrity a cut above the rest and that happened 3 times during our cruise. This cruise it did not happen, when I asked why? I was told that the weather in the Caribbean was to unpredictable for this to happen, HOWEVER they were happy to offer an outside BBQ with the officers for $100 per person. What happened to the unpredictable weather? There was a saying that I learnt from the passengers on this cruise 'Nickles and Dimes' which means that Celebrity are cost cutting that much it so apparent it's scary. The lack of fish and seafood: This is another 'Nickles and Dimes'! The buffet in the Eclipse offered a wonderful selection of fish and seafood, however this was not the case on the Reflection. After day 3 of one fish choice on the lunch menu I asked to see the Head Chef. He said that he would offer another selection but due to his orders from head office he was not able to offer seafood. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEA AND NO SEAFOOD? REALLY? He stated and I quote: the demographic on Caribbean cruises was different to European cruises, I then said so what your saying is that Americans prefer burgers and meat rather than fish and seafood and he just smiled at me. Thing is that we may be British but we have many American friends who love fish and seafood as much as the Europeans so that is complete rubbish Chef!! We are not massive meat eaters so fish and seafood is an important part of our diet snd that's one of the many reasons we love cruising... The cabin was lovely as expected but the points we have written about let us down. The staff were friendly but seemed overworked on this ship. The Entertainment was hit and miss but it lacked something that other ships has to offer. If your looking for class and seafood forget the Celebrity Reflection....... We have! Never ever again. Shame on you Celebrity!!! Read Less

We chose to sail in the Concierge class for several reasons. One was that we were celebrating our 30th and we wanted to add a little extra posh to our experience so we felt the money would be well spent. We arrived early to take advantage of the early boarding offered to Concierge guest and to also attend the Concierge only special luncheon. To our surprise, the early boarding was being offered to EVERY guest, the lines were not truly expedited as stated The special luncheon was not only a limited offer of fish or lamb but was also being offered to other guest as well. We quickly decided that the buffet would have better offerings and excused ourselves in search of something to eat since we had passed on our hotel breakfast expecting a better culinary experience at the luncheon. As you can imagine, the buffet was slammed and seating very limited so we had to roam around stalking people for a seat for a good chunk of time and then go individually or risk losing our table since people were standing everywhere just waiting to find one. We decided to shake it off and just enjoy the other perks the Concierge class had to offer us. Since Concierge staterooms come with fresh fruit and wine upon arrival we headed there to relax and enjoy them on our balcony. Sadly we opened our door to find that none of the items advertised were present and our mini bar was full of old items from the previous guest but no drinks. It was TOTALLY lacking any WOW factor at all! Nothing special as promised. It was then that we both just looked at each other and asked,"why did we pay extra for this class again?" Well, we still had the benefit of the upgraded room service menu and that was also an important thing to us since we had planned on sleeping in and eating on our balcony each day. Problem was that they had neglected to bring us menu cards as well as all of the other promised amenities! The room attendant did come after our phone call to drop off door cards and three old bruised shriveling apples but nothing else, not even a pen to fill the cards out with! This was the beginning of what would continue to be a hugely disappointing cruise with horrible service, cold and late room service orders. Infact,on the first day we received our order, it came with only a pot of hot water. No cups, no tea bags, nothing, just a pot of hot water, ice cold bacon and ham, dry croissants and two or three tiny slices of fruit! Luke warm, bland buffet food and generally poor service and attitude would be the standard for the rest of our days on board. Even after talking with guest services, nothing seemed to improve. Our room was not made up two days out of 7 nights not including our arrival mishap! Totally substandard service and no one on staff seemed to care. I wish I could believe it was just our opinion but as the week went on it would be a growing topic in the bars, elevators and other common areas and it became impossible to ignore as someone was always upset and discussing it! All in all there was very little that we felt lived up to a cruise of this cost or the reputation of this cruise line and we wished that we had just stayed home and saved our time off for a better choice. Just got back from a BTB. Great Cruise. This is our 6th time on Celebrity. First week was Concierge Class - we've travelled C-Class before - it's didn't cost us much more and I wouldn't pay much of a premium for CC - the robes and shower are nice but don't see any other perks for us besides that. It wasn't busy so we have regular check in. We don't eat 3 apples every morning and the Canapés are not great - so we asked them to stop bringing them after 1st day. Champagne is ok but we're more wine drinkers so the bottle is still in the fridge. The ride to Puerto Rico was a bit rough but once there it was smooth sailing. First night in dining room we were in the back with the servers and service was slow. We asked to be moved to the dining room for the rest of the week. That ended up being a disaster (too long a story to write) so we ate at speciality dining when possible. Lawn Club Grill - Great. Q-Sine - great (make sure your hungry before you go). Tuscan Grill - Best Filet Mignon I've ever had. The service from the bartenders were great - favorite bar is the Ensemble Lounge and Passport Bar. We upgraded to Premium Package (would highly recommend) All those people work very hard - the pool bar and Sunset are a little slower than the rest but no complaints - they try hard to keep people happy. Our Cabin Steward (Harry) was awesome. Again - these guys work very hard and will do anything to please. Anything we asked for they would accommodate. I can't say enough about the service you get on Celebrity - other than the issue we had in the dining room our week was amazing. Would highly recommend Week 2 we went Aqua - first time - won't be our last and that's because of one word - BLU. We love that restaurant. Wasn't sure we would because my husband is a big meat and potatoes guy but the food and service is 6 star. It will be hard to not book Aqua again (especially with our main dining room experience on week 1). The food, atmosphere and service is the best - we had a few reservations with speciality restaurants but cancelled them after our first night at BLU. Again - great Cabin Steward. Only negative and maybe not Celebrities fault but the cabin next door had a child who didn't wake up crying at 6am he work up screaming on the top of his lungs- when that kid got up so did we and not by choice - this topped with the fact the parents put his dirty diaper outside the cabin door for us to smell every time we went to our room was just bad manners in my opinion. I'm not opposed to children and have a certain amount of tolerance but having bad cabin neighbors is just bad manners and this family was not considerate to the other people around them. One of the reasons we travel Celebrity is because it's more of an adult cruise line. If this were to happen again I would be at customers relations on day 1 but we kept thinking things would get better - they didn't they got worse but too late into the cruise by the time we were really fed up with it. I did complain to Customer Relations. When you pay thousands of dollars to be on a cruise having bad neighbors shouldn't be something you have to tolerate. The ports were all great - we'd do them again and travel Celebrity Reflection again for sure. I can't say enough about the crew that work on this ship - they're so accommodating. One other thing is the House Band - Blind Vinyl were awesome - the girl that sings has a great voice and her tribute to Adele night was amazing - the bonus of BTB is knowing this so we made sure we caught all her performances when we could. All the live music was good. The shows we saw were ok but my husband is not big into shows so we only saw a few. Great trip - back to reality til next year we hope. We're Canadians and with the high dollar coupled with the increased cruise pricing Celebrity, may put next years holidays at and All Inclusive resort instead - Hopefully our dollar and pricing will be back in line by 2018. We have been on around six Celebrity cruises including Equinox from the Solstice Class. Most aspects of this cruise were excellent as expected from Celebrity. The food was always superb and service from the staff was top-notch. Entertainment was the best yet with every eveing being very good. The cabin design was very good and well thought-thru. There is a nice relaxation area on the 7th deck near the main elevators where you can relax and make yourself a coffee. This ship is an enlarged Solstice with enough extra passengers to make the Oceanview Cafe seem full at times and you needed to search for a table. Our only disappointment was the overall decor of the ship interior. We would describe it as modern bland and it didn't compare well with Equinox or the Cunard Queen Victoria we had recently been on. It showed evidence of cost-saving and just lacked any style. Read Less

We used to cruise a lot with NCL, but over the past few years, we switched over to Celebrity. We've been on this ship several times. We love everything about it! We love the atmosphere and the food/restaurants! Abraham from Qsine is the best! If you want atmosphere and small bites served uniquely..this is the place to go! We always seem to over order! The French restaurant is amazing! The staff was wonderful. Feels very luxurious. Love that they have table side preparation for certain entrees. Food was delicious and I'm not a fan of French food usually. Sushi on 5 is nice for lunch. Obsessed with the Porch for sea food lunch. Lawn club grille is great. Love the party they do where you can help cook! Food is super yummy. Love the fact that there is grass! They recently installed a large movie screen outdoors. Saw the staff setting up for a movie night which included appetizers and blankets and cushions on the lawn. Bummed that you had to pay for it. You should have just had to sign up for it. My husband smokes cigars, and they are always friendly when it comes to allowing cigar smokers tp smoke outside with other smokers...unlike NCL. Bar staff is always friendly. We made friends with Putu who was amazing! Enjoyed hanging out in the wine bar as well. Staff there was great and always remembered our wine order! Normally the photographers are a little annoying, but AJ and the staff were great. Made it fun! The solarium is a nice place to take a nap before dinner! Our favorite ship ever, we will be back! We tend to like the lines that have under 500 passengers but live in Florida, so cruising on a larger boat is the best way to go on a Caribbean cruise in the winter. Celebrity's SkySuites give us the small ship feeling with all the amenities of a much larger boat. Traveling to Miami took us longer than going to Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, but there was no annoying security check to get into the port and parking was a breeze. We dropped our luggage off and parked right across from the ship. At $20 a day, it is not inexpensive but very convenient. Check in was a breeze and our room was ready for us as it was about 1:30 when we boarded. We had lunch at Luminae which we thoroughly enjoyed. The food is outstanding and the service was really good, although not as good as on the Summit. We don't even bother with specialty restaurants anymore. We had a Classic Drink Package which covered almost all liquors and some nice wines, as well as cappuccino and other specialty coffees. We had four port days and Luminae was not open for lunch on those days. We found the hand tossed pizza at the buffet to be much improved and now rivals that on Princess. Food at the buffet was okay, but we never went hungry, and I enjoyed the different ethnic dishes, especially the curries on the one day we ate there. The Reflection is a new ship and it is very well appointed without being too glitzy. Public rooms were all very nice. The ship is small enough that every part is easily accessible. I only wish that the evening entertainment would have been better. There was a popular comedian appearing at 10:30 PM, but it was in a small venue, and all of the seats were occupied well before 10:00. The comedian on the first night of the cruise was so bad that we didn't rush to get to see the next one. The singing and dancing shows were just okay. We have been to Grand Cayman and Cozumel many times before, so we only took a brief walk off of the ship. The port at Falmouth, Jamaica is a reconstructed little mini town owned by RCCL. It consists of souvenir stands and a few restaurants for those who didn't eat enough on the ship. We ventured outside the gates into the town of Falmouth. It was market day, and although we didn't feel terribly unsafe, there was little to buy, and it was a little bit crazy walking in the street with cars behind us. Later we found out that one lady's cell phone was snatched from her backpack, and were glad we decided to go back to the ship. I didn't expect to spend much time on RCCL's private island Labadee in Haiti, but have to say it was really nice, and I could have spent another day there. The water was beautiful and RCCL provided lounge chairs and floats, and there was a nice barbeque lunch with a full bar. Disembarkation was also very easy as I don't believe there were any other ships in port. We were told to leave our room at 8:00, but left closer to 8:30 and waited by the pool until 9:10, our assigned time to pick up our luggage. All in all, we spent a relaxing 7 days, eating, drinking and reading and after exactly one week, I am already ready for another Celebrity cruise. Read Less

My DH and I have just completed 2 seven night back to back cruises on this ship. It is not the first time we have done B to Bs, but it will be the last. Not only is the menu in the MDR repeated, but 80% of the entertainment in the theatre is repeated too. Also, because the ship has to return to Miami at the end of each cruise, we didn't get far south enough to get the chance of better weather. 14 night cruises for us from now on!!! That said, apart from the shocking weather on the first leg, the cruise was most enjoyable. We are Elite members so benefit from many bonuses which are appreciated. We were invited to stand on the heli-pad for the sail in to San Juan. Fun, if a little windy! The ship is beautiful. We have sailed on all the Solstice class ships and this one is the newest. We had a balcony cabin on deck 6 and were not bothered by the lifeboats. They are at floor level. The food in the MDR was hit and miss but mainly good, but the desserts everywhere on the ship all looked lovely but were very disappointing - better for my waistline! It is very difficult to find a quiet spot at night with music blaring out on deck 3. Serious bridge players couldn't possibly use the Games Room. The entertainment was the usual fare. The production shows were not great - seen it, seen it, seen it. One of the acts The Tenors of Rock, got a deserved standing ovation - but as another reviewer commented, they only managed 45 minutes - were they rushing off somewhere!! The Cruise Director Alexander Yepremian was one of the best we have come across. He has a great singing voice - maybe he could use it a bit more! There seemed to be more small pockets of entertainment than I've seen before the leader of the house band did a spot in Sky lounge one night. An English girl with a nice voice and the 2 girl singers from the production shows also did a short show in the Sky lounge - Enjoyable. However, we greatly miss the acappella groups - bring them back!!! The Captain, whose last cruise it was on this ship, was almost invisible. Obviously not a people person, but he did his job and mastered the ship well - especially in the rough seas of the first week. The speciality restaurants are now ridiculously expensive. I love the Murano, but $100 for 2 on top of what we have already paid is outrageous. Sometimes we ate dinner in the Ocean View on deck 14. The selection of food was incredible including freshly cooked fish, chicken or steak to order. Nice if you didn't want the formality of the Opus Restaurant. On this subject, Celebrity have dropped the "Formal" nights it's now called "Evening Chic" where they ask you to dress a little more "dressy". However, they have relaxed other rules and men are now allowed into the restaurant dressed in shorts. I do think that is a step too far and has really lowered the tone. Pretty soon they'll be allowing them in wearing swimming shorts. How can they ask us to be "dressy" and let men wear shorts to dinner. If you want to wear shorts, eat in the casual cafe. Not what you'd expect from Celebrity. All in all, as usual, a most enjoyable trip. The staff are helpful and polite and for a little while, you can pretend you are living in a little bubble of paradise. Read Less

We just returned from 7 days. Miami, at sea, San Juan,st Thomas, st Maarten and 2 days at sea. The ship was beautiful and extremely clean. Plenty of on board activities and excellent entertainment. Embarkation and disembarkation were flawless and each took less than 30 minutes. Few children were on board but they appeared to be well taken care of and entertained. Service in the dining room, we had open seating, was sporadic. Some nights courses were delivered in an even and continuous flow. Other nights we seemed to wait forever between courses. We had to ask multiple times for ice tea. Shore excursion on st Maarten was well below Celebrity expectations and a full refund was offered. Hopefully that excursion will be removed from the menu. If you see sight see Margot and beach as a notice please avoid it and pick another option. Read Less
