Very disappointing

We chose this ship because it was cruising through the Panama Canal. First of all our time to embark was delayed by 2 hours. When we arrived at the port we sat in a large warehouse for over another 2 hours. The celebrity staff were not informing us of why everything was delayed and people were very upset. When we got on the ship our bathrooms were not working for the first night. Our bedroom ...

We boarded in San Diego after arriving a day early and staying at the Hotel across the street. The ship didn't arrive until noon as we watched people with baggage arriving at the the cruise terminal from 9 am on. Thanks to the Hotel they let us stay in the room until 1 pm. We took a hotel bus over to the cruise terminal and proceeded to enter the stuffed terminal and continued to walk through ...

Embarkation from San Diego was very disorganized. Very pretty ship and entertainment was great. Staff not very welcoming. Food poor. In the cafe hot food was generally cool to cold. They ran out of ice tea at one lunch. No ketchup at breakfast. No ice cream sauces one day. Best to order made to order if you want hot food. Need to look for eating utensils and search for ...

We booked the cruise ( Sky Suite ) about 9-10 months before sail date. I checked the price several times & it stayed the same - until we made the final payment & were in the penalty period. They reduced the price $5000 from what we paid - that's not a typo. Amenities were somewhat reduced with the lower price, but not all that much. This was not a last minute sale - it was 2 months before ...

First impressions were good. Embarkation was mostly smooth, but for the fact that the pier 18 parking had been closed (not Celebrity's fault so cannot hold that against them). It took a while to get the sea-passes, we saw three families come and leave at the next counter... so for us long, but others seem to have no issue, so I'm going to say not something that is always happening. Arriving ...

We were told the celebrity was a luxury cruise line. My wife and have done 14 cruises, this was to be our first and is now our last celebrity. We book now by destination, and again had great hopes What was wrong, no closet space or clothes for 14 days. Food so full of SALT, and no flavor. I have never been so disappointed by the staff. Example our rm cards with our drink package ...

Ship and entertainment, as well as on-board activities were very poor, and well below industry standards. Ship has been allowed to decay. Entertainment was good 5 nights of 15. Food was marginal. Celebrity upsells continuously - I'd estimate 15 -20% of cruise time/activity went to selling. the following additional comments are just to satisfy CC minimum limit. Celebrity did a ...

A poorly maintained understaffed ship

Most of critique is placed under cabin. We liked some features of this ship, but in general did not like it and will not return. The least of it was the heavily accented personnel with limited English who manned the telephones in CUSTOMER SERVICE!! The sea days were good but we have grown to expect more than one lecturer and some stimulating topics. We greatly enjoyed learning about emeralds ...

Good price for an itinerary we always wanted to take. First the positives. 1. Room steward was outstanding. Room was always ready and he was very friendly. 2. High marks to the activities staff. Full of energy and very personable. 3. The entertainment in the theater was top rate. The singers and dancers were as good as we have seen on any cruise. Now the downside. 1. The ...

Lots of good things, but we had a problem with a smoke smell in our stateroom about 5 days in a row - and it wasn't just our stateroom. It was blamed on the air conditioning. Very scary to wake up to a smoke smell . . . and headaches every morning. A spray was used to get the smell out of the room - that was almost worse. That chemical smell stayed in the stateroom and that was what we were ...
