We choose this cruise because my parents and some friends had traveled with Celebrity before and really enjoyed it. Our previous experiences had been Carnival and Disney. This was definitely on a par with Disney (Carnival was fun, but not fancy). We chose to get an Aqua-Class stateroom and were definitely glad we did, if only because of how much of the embarkation line we got to skip! The room was nice, the balcony was nice. We did have a bit of noise from the very loud walkers/runners/jumpers upstairs, but it wasn't enough to ruin anything (we were on deck 9, port side, towards the front). We could tell the ship was older, mostly from the decor, but it was well-maintained. The worst sign of age was some looseness and bounciness in the floor of our bathroom. The buffet was fun sometimes, but always very, very crowded and the food was really hit-or-miss. Finding a table wasn't the easiest, either. We eventually opted for lunch in the main dining room, even though it meant standing in line for at least 10 minutes (sadly, not really longer than for some of the buffet sections). Aqua-Class was also great because of the dedicated dining room, Blu, for breakfast and dinner. We never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a table, and they always asked for our preference in window-or-not. All the staff was wonderful; all smiles and friendliness and efficiency. We were especially fond of our sommelier, Fernando, who just seemed to really know his stuff and love his job. We do not have children, and were slightly surprised at the number of children on board (based on web comments and our friends' experiences), but maybe that was because it was July. The adults-only heated pool in the solarium was our favorite place to hang out. We also found the Silent Disco fun and funny. And our only on-ship sightings of humpbacks and dolphins were from the ports in the Constellation Lounge. We did a Macallan whiskey tasting with Conrad, which was excellent (we always learn new things at tastings). The live entertainment was fabulous; we especially loved the Lighthouse Duo, and the aerialists who performed with the singers and dancers on-stage. We only used the gym once, but that not for any reason besides not feeling like working out; we were able to get treadmills without a wait. We did shore excursions at all three ports; all nature-related, and we did see some wildlife (although not bears! No luck at all!!). The only upsetting part was that somehow they missed giving us our excursion tickets in our welcome package in our room. Therefore, we weren't aware that we needed tickets, and thought things would just be managed all through our roomkeys (like Disney). So, we waited until we had been in port for a little while, then wandered downstairs, only to overhear someone say that, "They're checking in excursions in the theatre." We went there, and the door attendant asks about tickets. Well, that was a panic moment. I ran back to our room to get our receipts, while my husband ran to the Excursions Desk. Happily, they were able to immediately "reprint" them (their words), and we made it to our first excursion on time, but frazzled. The tours themselves were well-organized with pleasant and knowledgeable guides, easy transportation and no feeling of being rushed on our return. We would travel with Celebrity again. We might like to try one of the new ships they advertised. I think we're now too spoiled to go below Aqua Class, though. We also bought the Premium Drink package, which was totally worth it (for us; we kept track to make sure). Made it most relaxing to just order a drink (or a smoothie, or a coffee) any time wanted without worrying about what the bill would be at the end. Disembarkation took just about an hour and was very organized and not confusing, so not bad at all. We stayed on in Vancouver for four days when we returned, but not through the cruiseline. A great trip! Read Less

Spent three days in Vancouver prior to the cruise. Embarkation was a nightmare, long queues. Carried our own bags when leaving therefore disembarkation went smoothly. The ship is tired looking, cabin was clean although the curtains, bed valance were torn. Bathroom had a musty smell which was sorted by our cleaner. Dining room was fine, great service and food was ok, ate here for breakfast and evening meal. The OceanView was a nightmare, queues, no room to eat, tables were not vacated and not asked to move even though there were signs. People were having to eat standing up. On the plus side, the cleaning and dining room staff were excellent. Entertainment wasn't brilliant, enjoyed the lectures. Port excursions were ok, I found all three ports very similar and boring. Enjoyed Hubbard glacier very much. In my opinion the company is only interested in taking as much money off passengers as everything seemed to cost extra I will not cruise with Celebrity again. I chose this cruise for its reputation. Embarkation and disembarkation was hassle free. The luggage reached rooms quickly. we were welcomed by our room attendant warmly. The hospitality was good; entertainment was good. The evening shows were mainly music. The catering staff was good and tried to provide best service. i have Indian taste. There were Indian dishes every day. We got to eat Paw Bhaji and Chole Bhaturay. There were two swimming pools but no one could really swim, you could sit and walk in them. However, it was a good experience in the pool. The outdoor pool area was mainly was for smokers. Even if I am non smoker I had to cross that for reaching indoor swimming pool. There was a lot of pushing to buy payable things particularly drinks. I bought alcohol drinks package but a lot of time I was told that a particular drink i wanted was not included in package. After disembarkation I noticed that i had been charged twice for every thing. I rang customer services twice and they agreed to refund the money but it is now three weeks since but I have not received full refund. Read Less

We bolted this cruise on to a holiday to Canada Rockies and BC. WE chose Celebrity because it gave the better deal compared to other Alaska 7 day cruises. Checking in was fine but immigtation seemed to take a long time. Once eventually on board the first contact witrh a cruise member of staff was about drinks packages which was rather annoying as all we wanted to do was setlle in and look around the ship. The cruise itself was great, even better as the weather was excellent. We thought Icy Straight Point was a bit of a waste of time but enjoyed the huskeys sleigh ride in Juneau. Hubbard Glacier was excellent the ship being able to get up very close to the glacier and was proably the highlight of the trip. As for the cruise Ship Celebrity Infinity compared to UK based cruise chips (e.g. P&O) we thought it was expensive and at every corner Celebrity seemed to want to take money from passengers. Food in the buffet was average but always crowded and difficult to find seats. The Restaurant for dinner was excellent with helpful staff although 3 times our group of 4 had to send the main course back. Ou cabin (6000) was right at the front (just a window) and it did get a bit choppy sometimes in the night. Entertainment in the theatre was good what we saw and some of the lectures were very good. One of the excursions we booked didn't run and was cancelled at short notice. The orgainsation/advice to passengers shore side was poor. We would consider Celebrity again but are put off by the high gratitude cost and high general costs not helped by being in dollars so wanted to compare with UK £ all the time. Read Less

Wanted to visit Alaska and this seemed an ideal way to do so. It superseded everything we could have imagined and every day seemed to get better and better. Could 100% recommend going on this cruise. A 5 star rating on all aspects of the holiday. Sadly we didn't see any whales close up, but that in no way detracted from the pleasure and enjoyment of the cruise. We will be looking through the cruise catalogues very much in the future due to the fact that in over 100 holidays, this one surpassed them all. The staff were all outstanding, helpful, polite and made cruising a delight. The food, as was to be expected, simply outstanding, with so much variety to choose from, I do not know how it could have been any better. So "thank you" Infinity for helping to create many memories which will last for a lifetime. Read Less

I was somewhat worried about booking this ship due to some of the negative reviews about how old, worn & rusty it was starting to look. I tend to be a person that scrutinizes everything, hence my concern. You just need to do your research and make an informative decision on your preferences. The reason we did book were due to the positive comments, price, destination & Vancouver Port leaving & return 35 minutes from home. The Cabin: We booked a concierge cabin ( some of the extra perks we appreciated, others we couldn't care less about). That being said we were so glad we did. Embarkation was a breeze due to the special concierge line. The main line had about 1000 people in it, even though we arrived early in the day we thought it would take forever, but then we were escorted to our line with our concierge waiting. He presented us with a concierge only invite to dine for lunch in the MDR. This was great as apparently the Oceanview Cafe is a nightmare on embarkation day. Concierge also receive a larger balcony cabin, some of the other small perks we didn't receive and like I mentioned we couldn't of cared less so didn't bother complaining. The room in general was a decent size (8055), was in a good location and no obstructed views. It did need updating, the red sofa was faded, not so pretty curtains, and the bathroom smelt a little musty, but overall it was exceptionally clean. I didn't mind any of this as I reviewed pics ahead of time and knew what to expect. Overall we loved our room. The Concierge Lunch I had the salmon, my husband had the whole wheat pasta dish. We both did not enjoy this lunch. The salmon had a stronger than normal fishy smell and was overcooked, the pasta was bland. Oh No! Is this a sign of things to come? Sail Away: Great music from the moment we stepped on board and continued throughout our trip. Cabins are sometimes not ready when you step on board, but it didn't take long and an announcement is made that you can now go to your cabin. You are bombarded by courteous staff to book specialty restaurants. Not once did I feel pressured to book, and I did prebook a couple anyways. Sometimes on embarkation days the restaurants have a reduced cost. We went outside to a bar for a drink one floor above the pool deck. My drink was served in an acrylic glass that had cracks all along the rim. When I asked for a better glass I was told they are all broken like that and they began to show me several glasses that were splintered and cracked. REALLY?? I have to say that that was the only bartender that was rude and for some reason that bar was closed for the remainder of the trip. Once again I was worried that this was a sign of things to come. Specialty Restaurants: Tuscan Grille- Superb from the moment we walked in (embarkation day-reduced cost). Beautiful entrance. Thing are starting to go better and never stopped. We tried the Lobster rigatoni half size, rib eye steak, mashed potatoes & creamed spinach. Appys & dessert also delish. Second time we ate here we had the Calimari & tried half portions of the lasagne, spaghetti & meatballs, also the Branzino and Veal Marsala. Didn't care for the spaghetti or the veal masala, but otherwise another terrific evening with exceptional service. Quisine M. Petite- NEW RESTAURANT and one I'd been wanting to try that I seen featured on the new Edge ship. Quisine has been transformed into Monsiere Petite 3D dining. An experience that can't be missed...check it out on You Tube! You can not arrive late for your reservation as the start time show is for the entire restaurant. So worth the $55/person, but once again there was a special on board and we paid $30/person. Sushi on Five- My husband doesn't care for sushi, but agreed to go one evening. The prawn tempura roll he loved, and the crab roll. It was amazingly delicious. Prices are listed on the menu our bill was $34. Main Dining Room: Beautiful area. To me it had old world charm and we enjoyed all other meals we ate here, except for a few dishes like the breakfast frittata it was disgusting, but never a worry you just order something else. The Mushroom soup and French Onion was divine. Lamb Chops too. All top quality. Oceanview Cafe- Buffet style...everything we ate here was delicious. The buffet seems endless. The curries were my favorite some of the best I've ever eaten. My husband said the same about the fish & chips. It is hard to find a seat especially on sea days but you can take your meal out by the pool. Just get a lounger first and don't juggle trying to carry your drink, meal, cutlery as there are wait staff roaming inside and out ready to take your drink order. At breakfast there's a section for an American style breakfast, but if you want toast you have to go to another line. Get your toast first and find the ketchup if you can, so the rest of your breakfast doesn't go cold. Celebrity this is one thing that definitely needs reorganizing. Entertainment - Just awesome, from the music talent, shows & comedians. We loved, loved, loved it. I thought the theatre too was quite beautiful with its old world charm even though sure it could use updating but it didn't faze us one bit. We also enjoyed ourselves immensely after the shows at the Constellation Lounge. By the way this is a great spot to view coming into port and/or other sites if you don't want to be outside. Another favorite spot was the Martini Bar - excellent Martinis Overall Experience- Alaska Cruise, it was one of our Best Trips Ever! We will definately sail with Celebrity again even on the Infinity, she may be older, but has lots of charm and a coziness about her. Our last cruise 14 years ago was with another cruise line, it was so awful that it put us off of cruising all these years. Celebrity you made us fall in love with cruising again. Thank you for such a wonderful trip. Read Less

This was our 6th cruise, second on X and First on a Millenium Class Ship. Everything on this cruise was better than expected, including the superb weather. We loved the ship, the crew, the food and the entertainment. We booked another cruise while on board. The ship as mentioned in other reviews is not new; however it is very well maintained and nothing in relation of the ship's age impacted negatively our cruise experience. Embarkation was a breeze (15 minutes for security, 15 minutes for customs and 10 minutes for boarding.) Disembarkation and embarkation was smooth at every port of call except Ketchikan where a small delay occurred: it took 10-15 minutes. Final Debarkation in Vancouver using the self-assist process went extremely well. We were on the street, passed customs with our luggage in 15 minutes. This was our fastest debarkation process so far! Cabin 9057: Aquaclass. Very similar to the veranda cabin we had on Solstice. Very clean, well maintained. Loved the balcony with the large overhang protecting against rain and wind. No issue with noise from the deck above. The multijets shower was impressive. Plenty of storage space. Demineralized water and extension cord for my wife's CPAP were already in our cabin upon arrival. Bravo and thank-you to Racquel, who took good care of us in a very discrete yet efficient fashion! Food: Service at the BLU restaurant was attentive, efficient, personalized. Fantastic Experience! Bravos to Olgica, Carlos, Everson, Miller, Rina, Vivie, Jonathan! Bravo also to our sommelier Fernando, who really did a good job at enhancing our dinner experience and taught a nice wine/food pairing seminar. Fun and instructive! We ate most dinners and breakfast in Blu. Did not try specialty restaurants on this cruise. The food in BLU was excellent! We loved every meal, in particular, lobster night. Now that we are ashore, we already miss Blu. Food in the Main Dining Room for lunch was good to excellent as well. We really had no issues there, however, we did not use it very often. (twice I believe). Food at the Oceanview Cafe was good. I loved the pasta bar. However, finding a table at that OVC can be tricky at times. Cafe Al Bacio, and Mast Grill Bar all obtain good to excellent mark as well. Entertainment and activities: Luigi (Cruise director) and his staff did an excellent job. The production shows were well done and entertaining. We really enjoyed them, even more that last year's shows on Solstice. We went to all the late night shows except on the first night, due to travel fatigue. Games such as trivia, True or False, Minute to win it, Paper Airplane competition, Silent Disco and music throughout the ship kept us entertained and pleased. This was in addition to whale and nature watching! Captain and crew did a magnificent job in bringing the ship so close to Hubbard Glacier and by doing a 360 degree turn so that all staterooms with a view could take a look at this magnificent glacier. It was a unique and phenomenal experience! Service/employees at Guest Relation, Shore Excursion and Future Cruise were helpful and efficient! Ports: We took Celebrity Excursions for each of the port of calls: Icy Strait Point: We had a fabulous time. Weather was beautiful. Humpback whales were present in port wot welcome our ship! During the Rain Forest walk\Whale watching excursion, we saw bald eagles, a pacific coastal brown bear, a spirit bear, a deer and lastly more whales. Including one humpback whale who put on a show for us, by breaching three times and then swimming on its side to show all her fins. We will not forget this fabulous day! Juneau: Rain forest walk to Mendenhall Glacier and another whale watching tour. The walk was beautiful, and observing a mother black bear in the trees with her baby cubs swinging at the top of other threes a bit further, made our day! The arrival in front of Mendenhall Glacier was impressive. Wow! Ketchikan: Another rain forest walk. This was not a bad tour, but the visit at Betton Island did not reveal any of the fauna we had hoped to see. This said, was saw during the boat ride, a very large eagle nest with two beautiful bald eagles supervising the situation. The trees and flora at Betton Island were quite impressive though. All and all, we experienced a fabulous cruise and enjoyed every moment! It is an experience we will remember. I would recommend this cruise and Infinity without hesitation! (Just beware, by all accounts we were extremely lucky on this cruise regarding weather: we had very few rain showers and short ones only which contributed to our unique experience.) Fitness and Spa: We tried the gym one (it was a bit crowded and difficult to find an apparel, but we were able to do our workout) and we also tried the Persian Gardens once. The view from the "inside" Persian Gardens on Infinity was not as nice as the view from the same room on Solstice which was spectacular. This said, were were able to try all the rooms and really enjoyed the experience. Thank you very much Celebrity and in particular, to all the crew of Celebrity Infinity! Read Less

Recommended by travel agent. upon boarding the celebrity infinity we proceeded to the buffet lunch, as we awaited access to our aqua class room. we were immediately set upon by the waiters & waitresses trying to have us sign up for the daily "drinks package" @ (us)$55.00 per day per person plus an 18% gratuity. (if there were 2 persons in a room, both had to buy the "drinks package"). since my wife and i usually share a bottle of wine with dinner, we were definitely not interested in the "drinks package" which included only drinks by the glass and not bottles of wine with dinner. when we repeatedly declined the alcoholic drinks package we were then pressured to buy the non-alcoholic package or the bottled water package. One of the reasons we chose aqua class was to have access the aqua blu dining room, which was designated for aqua class passengers only. the wait staff in the blu dining room were all excellent and very cordial and most food was fine but the new york and ribeye steaks were meager and so thin that all the steaks, we were served, well done!! while we could afford it, we were not inclined the pay a us$45.00 per person cover charge to go to the tuscan dining room to try to get "decent steak". All drinks were accessed an 18% gratuity, including a small bottle of water which was sold for us$3.00 (total us$3.54). it should be noted that 2 small bottles of water were initially provided in our room at no additional cost. Internet cost of us$249.00 for one (1) week is excessive, in our opinion!! Library extremely small for 2170 passengers. During may, 2017, my wife and i took an all-inclusive cruise with regent through the middle east and when comparing the costs on a daily basis between celebrity and regent (for the cruise, all beverages, gratuities & internet) the all-inclusive regent cruise was much less expensive!!!! And when taking into account that most of regent's tours were included in the cruise cost, regent was even more economically attractive. we came to understand why numerous other regent cruisers we spoke with sailed with regent repeatedly. The Theatre on the ship was spacious and the entertainment/entertainers "top notch" Read Less

I had read so many bad reviews about the ship after booking I was terrified that we were going to have an awful trip and since three other couples were joining us based on my choice I would have felt terrible if all of the bad reviews were true. Instead we had a fantastic trip. I thought the ship was great. The layout was nice. Everything was clean. The staff was very accommodating. Our room steward responded to all of our requests in a timely manner. We ordered room service a couple times and they always delivered as requested in a timely manner and the food was excellent. Our waiter in the Trellis was perfect for our group. We all wanted to adopt him into our family by the end of the trip. The other crew members that we interacted with on the most part were great. There were a couple servers in the buffet that were a bit rude but overall it was a good crew. My biggest complaint was that I felt uncomfortable about not having a drink package. I don't have a need to drink bottled water and actually would rather just stick with filtered water for environmental reasons and at most I have 1-2 alcoholic drinks so I didn't need the drink package. Every time I went to the bar to ask for a glass of water I felt as if it wasn't appropriate. And when I tried to order the "daily drink special" the bartenders didn't know what I was talking about. I know it is added income for the ship and crew when you purchase the drink package but I wish I wasn't made to feel so uncomfortable for opting out. The shows were entertaining. The acrobats on the last day were fantastic. I loved that show. There was always some kind of activity i.e. games, dancing, trivia, pool, spa. We only had 3 port of calls so we spent a lot of time on the ship but I was never bored or lacking for something to do. As a matter of fact, I had brought a book along thinking I was going to sit on my balcony and read but I never had time to do that. The food was fabulous and plentiful. I had no complaints and I was looking for the faults. We didn't go on any shore excursions so I can't rate them. Everything else was excellent. Read Less

This was our tenth cruise (second with celebrity). 3 days in stunning Vancouver prior to alaskan cruise. Embarkation very good. Ship was very well maintained and very clean. Food in main restaurant was excellent, waiter & assistant waitress at our table were very helpful and attentive. Didn't see the head waiter. Food in buffet was also very good. Cabin was spacious with plenty of hanging room and drawers for clothes, balcony was standard. Stateroom attendant friemdly & helpful. There were good seminars onboard. The shows were good and entertainment staff worked hard. The different drinks packages were a little confusing but bar staff were on hand to explain what you were entitled to for the different packages. The bar staff in the martini bar were overwhelmed, and people sitting at bar would get served before you unless you were vocal. In fact, our group trip (47 people) started on June 15 with a day in Victoria and then two days, June 16 and 17 in Vancouver. Embarkation on 18 June. June 15 - Day-3. Take off at 8:00 am, arrive Vancouver at 10:00 am local time, transfer by luxury bus, comfortable, to take the ferry to Victoria on Vancouver Island, a journey of nearly 1:30. It's not nice, 14-15 degrees; rain and thick fog during much of the crossing. We take a small dinner at the ship's self-serve restaurant; while it is not cheap, at least, variety and quality are there; we begin to fraternize a little more with our compatriots of the group, We take a seat on the bus, and we go to meet our local French-speaking guide, a friendly resident of Victoria for over 40 years, for a pleasant city tour but punctuated by showers ... Transfer to our hotel and freestyle evening. June 16 - Day-2 Disastrous breakfast at the hotel, then lead to the visit of Butchart Gardens. The place is beautiful, huge, but the hour and a half we were allocated was not enough, we had to go back to the bus before we saw it all (this is one of the constraints of traveling in group). Return to Vancouver aboard a newer ferry, probably a little bigger, including a buffet restaurant. Partly cloudy, allowing us to take some nice pictures. Transfer to our hotel for 2 nights. Free walks around, and Canada Place, the cruise terminal, are 1.5 km, a walk of about 20 minutes. We will see before the arrival of ours, several ships docked including the Holland America Niew Amsterdam, the Star Princess and the Crystal Serenity. We stop for a short supper on our own, at the nearby Food Court - Waterfront Center, a diversified and reasonably priced food fair. June 17 - Day-1 Breakfast at the hotel, a well-stocked and quality buffet this time ... We meet for our city tour our local guide, knowledgeable... and installed on the outskirts of Vancouver ... In the city center a lot of construction of business towers and condos, which seems to cost a lot ... I am pleased withthe architectural beauty of these buildings, neighboring older ones. Stopping at Stanley Park, well laid out and quite busy, there are some totems to see. Stop at Granville Island, there is also a lack of time, but I could still see the famous floating houses. After the city tour, free time for quiet walks, a little shopping, etc. It crawls from everywhere despite the weather not so clement. Then we think and anticipate our embarkment the next day... June 18th - Day 1 - Embarkation. Heavy breakfast at the hotel, bus to the cruise terminal ... Cloudy with showers. You may be on a Sunday, but there is an important traffic, since at the port there are several ships to fill ... But hey, finally it's embarkation. In the process at the terminal we go through the US customs. Once on board, little sparkling wine, and with the Today "Early Edition" in hand, the group disperses to go on each own and for a quick lunch ... This time, my experience makes me avoid the Oceanview Café, too busy, we go to the Spa Café, adjacent to the indoor pool, for a good healthy lunch, it's very small but there is hardly anyone! A short reconnaissance tour of the ship, it reminds us of the Constellation that we sailed 6 years ago, and despite the renovations, we noticed everywhere several elements betraying its 16 years of age. A little later we go to see if our cabin is ready (balcony cat 2B, bridge 8); smaller than on Solstice class ships, there are also signs of wear, including on furniture and especially in the bathroom. The small shower has a curtain, the caulking is stained with several blackish molds, the grout of the ceramic looks dirty and I will learn later from our stateroom steward that it had been redone with epoxy grout (tiles were obviously not cleaned rapidly) ... There is a clothesline in the shower, it's quite weird to see this... After having changed clothing, we go to the Muster Drill scheduled at 15:30, then to the bridge 11 to attend the departure at 16:30 .... Despite the sullen weather, feverishness is palpable. Unlike the majority of the group, my wife and I chose the 'Select Dining' so we could go for supper at our leisure between 5.30pm and 9:00pm (same schedule for the entire cruise). Even if we were invited to book, without reservation, between 5.30pm and 6pm, we never waited more than 2-3 minutes ... While there was often a good line on the side with reservation. Celebrity Showtime: Lou Gazzara, versatile vocalist, a beautiful repertoire and a great presence on stage. June 19 - Day 2 - At Sea (Inside Passage) It's not complicated, we did not see much of the famous inside passage, given the weather (low clouds, rain, etc). On the other hand, there was the conference "Beyond the Podium - MickeyLive", Mickey being a great lecturer, knowledgeable and visibly at ease with audiovisual technology. The rest of the day, nothing special. Celebrity Showtime - Boogie Wonderland, a musical revue focusing on the 70s. Quite good. Tonight we set watches 1 hour back.. June 20th - Day 3 - Sitka AK Arrival at 10:00 am, cloudy weather but it will not rain much, eventually. Celebrity Excursion (SI14), which combines the historical and cultural aspects of the city (historical park, Tlingit culture, Naa Kahidi dance) and a visit to the Raptor center. Interesting but the schedule was a bit tight, we had to shorten the visit to some places (eg, since the dance show was good but redundant, it could have been shorter). Tonight, no show for us: a certain Bengt Washburn, standup comedy ... No interest for us.. June 21 - Day 4 - Hubbard Glacier (navigation) Exceptionally we were given access to the front of the ship (level bridge 6) to admire the landscape, the view is different from what we have decks 11 or 12. Outdoor temperature about 8-9 Celcius degrees. I must say that I felt "at the end of the world" ... I imagine that those who have already cruised in Antarctica may think I am impressionable ... We were disappointed that the ship had not approached the glacier, - was there a good reason? And the dull weather did not help for taking good quality pictures. Celebrity Showtime: «Star Factory», lively, beautiful musical and acrobatic performances, beautiful costumes, etc. June 22 - Day 5 - Juneau AK Excursion Celebrity (JU33): Basically, the visit of the Mendenhall Glacier and its visitor Center, views of the surroundings with beautiful photo opportunities and interesting little film where I learned about the glaciers; then we go to the "Gold Creek Salmon Bake" for a picnic buffet in a nice environment to savor wood fire grilled wild Alaskan salmon, a delight! (There is also grilled chicken). In accompaniment, various salads, potatoes, etc, and delicious "Chilkoot" beans! Chansonnier on site for musical atmosphere. A beautiful outing. Our travel guide invited us to have a drink at the "Red Dog Saloon" (with floors covered with a good layer of sawdust, a tradition... Celebrity Showtime with Sean O'Shea, singer and talented impersonator, with energy and humor. June 23rd - Day 6 - Ketchikan AK Last of our 3 stops, arrived at 2:00PM, the small town is friendly and we can explore a good part by foot without problem. Excursion Celebrity (KE61): guided tour of historical sites including a park of totems, and lumberjack show. Celebrity Showtime: "Duo Destiny", Gonçalo and Kinga, a couple of acrobats frankly surprising. Tonight we set watches 1 hour forward. June 24 - Day 7 - At Sea (Inside Passage) This time the weather is on our side, we can observe the landscape and the temperature rises quickly, about 25 Celsius degrees (it will have made more than 28 degrees in Vancouver). Swimming and sunbathing for many passengers ... Celebrity Showtime: iBroadway, a colorful and typically American style show of recent and older hits. We do not put our luggage in the corridor tonight, we'll leave carrying them tomorrow morning. June 25 - Disembarkation The process is going well, both on board and in port. At the airport it's going bad, at the AC check-in counter it is very long for lack of open desks... Vancouver-Montreal flight without problem. Back home! Conclusion: although I have always appreciated Celebrity, we see that cuts have still been made. We still eat well but it is not the same ... For example, one lunchtime, exceptionally we went to the dining room and my dish really was not the way we could get of Celebrity (ground meat containing "crunchy", badly cooked peas and dubious appearance ...) I mentioned my disappointment to the waiter, who by his reply let me believe that I was not the only one to have told him. As far as the Oceanview Café is concerned, I prefer the island arrangement on Solstice class ships. On this itinerary there were many Asians and Indians on board, and every day, this is normal, a large part of the counters offered dishes from their countries ... While on the other hand other counters lacked variety. We have nothing against exotic foods but not every day ... The Infinity is a comfortable but dated vessel, the staff is benevolent but less visible, except during marketing operations, obviously ... It becomes harassing crew members trying to sell drinks or dining packages, etc. .... By the way, there is now only one stateroom steward, no more assistant. I also noticed a reduction in the Captain's Club benefits .... Now it's enough to make us ogle on other companies. Finally, depending on the circumstances, a group travel may prove to be interesting and advantageous; I think this time it was and we liked it... But the ship is disappointing. Read Less
