This is my 7th cruise, 4th with celebrity, 1st on the infinity. We choose this cruise based on the itinerary and we truly loved all the ports. The ship had an overnight in Venice then set sail the next day. I actually liked this because it gave us an opportunity to explore Venice at night and have an incredible dinner in Venice. I also didn’t feel rushed. Our other ports were Split Croatia, Kotor Montenegro, Corfu Greece, and Naples Italy. My favorites were Croatia were we hired a private guide by speed boat to take us to HVAR for the day and Corfu were we hired a private sail boat to take us sailing for day. Montenegro is nice, cute little town. We stayed on the boat in Naples as we have been there before. We did have aqua class which allowed us to dine in BLU, and I feel is totally worth it. It’s a more exclusive experience and the service and food are wonderful. I especially love the breakfast. The staff on the ship are always so amazing. I had an injury on the boat and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. My only note about this ship is that it is very dated ( but we knew that coming on). My understanding though is that it is getting a complete refurbishing sometime soon so that will take care of any minor issues. As usual I just recommend people to do their research on the ports and find things you really want to do. Just getting off at the ports and walking around gets very old and boring. Take some time to think outside the box and look into even hiring private companies. Lastly, make sure you make your speciality restaurant reservations well in advance. They are very good and worth the money but they always book up. I can’t tell you how many times I have heard passengers complaining on day one that all the speciality restaurants were booked up because the didn’t know to reserve in advance. You can also now make spa reservations in advance so consider that for a day at sea. Just remember you are on vacation, try not to nick pick at every little detail. Just enjoy the cruise, drinks and food. Read Less

I was hoping to be wowed by Celebrity having read up so much prior to going, but i have to say although they were good, I do prefer other cruise lines in retrospect. The ports of call made this cruise memorable for the right reasons. Our cabin was lovely, clean and such a comfortable bed. Good closet space. Bathroom supplies were fine. A very quiet and smooth sail throughout no issues with the ship itself even though its due a refit being older, but i liked the size of it, and managed to not get too lost. The small annoyance is the water in cabin is extra costing over 5$ for a warm bottle of water, which if you have a drinks package its Free from the bars. Mini bar is also extra. Dining was mediocre. our table for 2 was squashed by a stair well we felt squeezed in. Service, was fine, just a little forced. Buffet was again Ok, but on some occasions some sections were closed, and left very little to choose from, however the breakfast ommlette station was fantastic, offering hot variety on demand. The waiters who clear the tables work very hard. Lovely views whilst sitting in the Buffet, this was lovely for sunsets and dolphin spotting whilst eating. Some bars kept running out of things waiting on deliveries. Some toilets had toilet paper on the floor, and no napkins. It actually felt like the ship was short staffed for some reason.Maybe they were training staff still I dont know. Food in the main dining was often luke warm and tiny portions. The soups were lovely to taste, but the menu every day was un-inspiring really, i was hoping the food would be something extra special. We didn't do the speciality due to the constant upsell all the time, and the menus offered there were pretty much the same you could get for free elsewhere. Cafe Bacio the coffee shop was a favourite of ours, wonderful drinks and pretty good service in here. Entertainment was constant around the ship, a great DJ Alessio, was fantastic, some great sounds, round by the pool bar and Maritin bar. He lifted the mood well. Evening entertainment one show was great the IBroadway was excellent but the other shows were ok, nothing too engaging, we found much of the shows were gameshow style which felt very much for the Americans onboard. Most of the bar staff we experienced were quite miserable, and found service very inconsistent and slow, one person great, next person not at all bothered to connect with you. such a shame. The best part was - Our ports of call were excellent, itinerary fantastic. I loved Venice, and Split and Kotor especially. The tours we did were great too, very insightful and interesting the tour guides were fantastic, we did some walking tours and found them very well organised and enjoyable. All the tenders and transfers were organised very well. everything rang smoothly, I was just a little underwhelmed by Celebrity, most of the hype says they are top of the list. i beg to differ. We wanted to see Mykonos, Athens and Santorini and have cruised with Celebrity on a number of occasions. Overall it was a decent itinerary with 8 x ports and 4 x days at sea. Good staff and some really good U K based performing acts in the theatre. Food overall was good but the main dining room menu is getting a bit stale and as such we ate in self service restaurant on a few occasions which was a nice change. We found it disappointing that we could not even try a Martini, using our drinks package, you needed premium, in the Martini Bar. In general the wines that we tried at night did not match the quality from previous Celebrity cruises. We booked three shore excursions through Celebrity and two through Cruising excursions, which on the whole were far better value than Celebrity. Although the ship was okay it is definitely looking very tired and in urgent need of a refit. We also enjoyed coffee at Al Bachio and the occasional confectionary on a daily basis. It was also nice to be sitting somewhere and one of the onboard entertainers would set up and start playing. Read Less

Our cruise aboard Celebrity Infinity was fabulous. We began with a stay at the Hilton Diagonal Mar in Barcelona. The hotel was flawless and has an incredible pool/beach club and the view from our room was breathtaking. Barcelona is such a nice city to walk. The embarkation process was easy and uncrowded. We boarded around noon and our stateroom was available around 1:00. Enough time to wander the ship a little bit.... I was a little apprehensive of what the ship's condition would be based on reading some reviews on this site prior to leaving on our trip. There were a number of reviews that described the ship as tired. We found the ship to be very clean in all areas. It is scheduled for dry dock and a major renovation in November 2020. The stateroom was in good condition. All of the furniture and fixtures were clean and in good repair. The public areas appear to have been renovated in recent years and the public area furnishings and décor was up to date and in great condition. The stateroom did lack some things that I assume will be addressed in the November 2020 renovation. in this day and age where everyone travels with a phone and iPad (or laptop) there were not enough power outlets available. We brought a 10 unit charger station and were able to overcome this challenge. There also was NO power outlet in the bathroom. There were three of us in the cabin including our 11-year old son. We were in an Oceanview cabin with a pull out sofa bed for our son. I would not recommend this configuration as it minimized the space when the bed was pilled out. An overhead berth would have been more accommodating. I was pleasantly surprised that every single crew member was friendly and demonstrated excellent hospitality. Without exception! There were plenty of activities to participate in and entertainment to enjoy. The "Fun Factory" for our son was well run and had everything to occupy and entertain an 11-year old. The ports on our itinerary were nice and varied with an emphasis on Greece. Read Less

Overall - we loved our cruise. We had a great time on the ship and in port. I got slightly bored on the at sea days because it was chilly sometimes and everyone was wrapped up in blankets at the pool. My husband and I are in our 30s and we don't have kids so we were looking for a cruise not crowded with kids that also had a lower average age. Average age onboard - excellent. Hardly any kids and I would say the median was ~upper 50s which is pretty good for a cruise. Embarkation - AWESOME. We were one of the first on board. No LINE! We arrived from the airport at the port at 11:15AM around the time they started checkin. Concierge Class - we didn't think Concierge Class was worth it at all. We were almost first in line to checkin and get on the ship. We got on before everyone else so priority boarding wouldn't have helped. For disembarkation - I would have been happy to wait on the ship til everyone else got off. We did like the afternoon snacks (canapes) in our room but that was the ONLY perk of Concierge (besides the stateroom which we loved) that we liked. Stateroom - Our state room was perfect - loved the balcony. Plenty of space for us and storage. Toiletries provided were not great and I wish I had brought my own. Service - amazing service in restaurants, at the pool, at the bar and our cleaning staff. Guest relations and shore excursions staff left something to be desired. Food & Bars - outstanding. Buffet did get crowded at times and we were rushed once or twice in Main dining room (celebrity select). We did a bar crawl every night. Specialty restaurants were all outstanding! Beverage package - upgraded from classic to premium during check-in and it was worth it to us! we frequently got several cocktails drinks per day that were at least $13 and we only paid the difference. So an $18 glass of wine was only $5. (yes i had several of them) Dining package - we purchased the 4-pack while on board and it was worth it. We basically got to eat at one specialty restaurant for free because of the package. Good thing is that if you go to dinner and then purchase the package later, they can include the previous dinner in the package. Spa - way way way overpriced. I will not go again. I got a Gel manicure which usually costs $30 and it was $110. Massages were over $135 each not including tip. Could have saved us $500 total by skipping the spa. Gym - adequate. We used it frequently. Wanted to do yoga but Classes were not free and you had to sign up in advanced. First day at sea I had a to wait a few minutes for a treadmill but otherwise it wasn't too crowded. Casino, Activities & Shows - not of interest to us. Casino had high table minimums. Celebrity life activities were boring or not interesting. We did quite a bit of karaoke in the sky lounge but it only lasted about 1 hour per night which was sad. Wish there were more after dark activities or places where couples in there 30s and 40s could hangout after dark like a dance club which I have seen on other ships. Port visits - Excellent. Ample time in port which I think is a key pro for Celebrity. Tendering was not an issue. Getting off the ship in time for our early AM excursions was never an issue. We never stood in line to get off. Destination guides handed out on ship were not detailed enough. No full area map or helpful tips on what to avoid. For example - would be nice to know that during peak times you can stand in line for > 30 minutes to take the cable car back down in Santorini and there really is no other way unless you want to walk in donkey poop. Ports Messina (Sicily) - We took the celebrity transfer to Taormina where they drop you off for 3 hours and you tour it on your own. It was overpriced but we liked walking around the pedestrian area of Taormina and had lunch. Kusadasi (Ephesus) - private tour with Ephesus Shuttle from trip advisor. Our guide was waiting for us on time when we disembarked at the port. Nil was extremely knowledgeable about all the history and the excavation of the sites and had majored in Tourism at a university in Turkey. She spoke pretty good English. We first visited the House of Mary and then Ephesus and the Terrace Houses. Then we went to the Basilica of St John and she walked with us to a nearby Mosque. Afterwards we had a wonderful lunch and then Nil accompanied us to the Bazaar because I really wanted to shop a bit. The best thing about the tour is that we went at our own pace and Nil tailored the tour to what we were interested in. Athens - Semi private tour with Yannis Taxi from trip advisor. Our group of 14 mini-bused to the Acropolis from Piraeus port after being met promptly by our driver and our fluent english speaking guide, Eleni (Helen). One thing I loved about this is that my husband and I didn't know any of the other people on the tour. Yannis set up the whole thing which made it a lot cheaper than private. Eleni guided us through the Acropolis and the Museum of the Acropolis with exemplary knowledge and detail. We had time on our own for shopping and lunch in the beautiful pedestrian area of Plaka. After lunch, we visited the Holocaust Memorial and Constitution square for the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier. Eleni was EXTREMELY knowledgeable and I wonder if she is not actually a History major. She had extensive detail on everything! Rhodes - on our own. Enjoyed walking around old town and taking pictures. Had wonderful lunch and then took a taxi to Faliarki beach. The beach was so-so. Santorini - on our own. Took the Oia speed boat transfer (booked on Facebook SantoriniPlanet) to Oia to avoid cable-car and donkeys on the way up the mountain. Oia is beautiful and must see! Walked around Oia, took pictures, shopped and had lunch. Transfer includes bus ride back. Boarding buses was chaotic, crowded and people were cutting. We made it on the bus and then got stuck in a traffic jam for 45 minutes because the roadway back to Santorini is not big enough for 2 tour buses to pass each other at the same time. Back in Santorini walked around the beautiful small town, shopped and then stood in line for 30 minutes waiting on the cable car back to the dock around 2pm. When we got back down to the dock, storm was starting to blow in and we jumped on the first tender we saw and we are lucky we did. The shut down tendering after ours for 2.5 hours after due to gusting 70 mph winds. Cable car was also shutdown. Folks were required to be back on board by 5PM and that was extended because people were stuck at the pier. Tons of people had to walk down the long path way that is shared with the donkeys and many elderly or disabled people were injured on the way down. The ship waited for all crew and guests to make their way back onboard after the storm died down around 5PM. Mykonos - planned a kayaking trip but it was cancelled due to the storm from the day before. We didn’t find out about the cancellation until after we were already wandering around our meeting point looking for everyone. Instead we took a ferry to Ancient Delos and got stuck there for 3 hours due to the schedule difference between the first trip out and the first trip back. 3 hours is way too long to spend on Delos and its as only semi interesting after spending days looking at ancient ruins in Rome, Athens, and Kusadasi. After we made it back to Mykonos we walked around the BEAUTIFUL small town and had lunch before tendering back to the ship. Naples - Private tour with a group of folks I met on Cruise Critic. The driver/guide from Naples Tour Service, Salvatore, met us at 7:30AM and first drove us through the mountains on the way to Amalfi so we could see a different view. We go there early before it was too crowded. He stopped a few times along the way at scenic areas for us to take pictures. Once in Amalfi we had 1 hour of free time to walk around town center. Amalfi is small and has shops, cafes and the beach. After leaving Amalfi we drove to Positano along the picturesque coast and the road is not quite big enough for 2 busses to pass which can be stressful but our driver was great! Again we stopped along the way for pictures. Positano is beautiful and posh. We had 1 hour of free time in Positano and walked to the beach and back. By that time, ~11AM, it was starting to get crowded. Next we drove to lunch at La Tagliata which was wonderful! Family style dining. They brought out lots of veggies and antipasti, then we had a pasta course and then dessert. House wine flowed and they gave us Lemoncello with dessert. Amazing view and great value. Everything was 25 euro per person. After lunch we drove to Pompeii and we had 1.75 hours free time. We were pretty tired by that point so we zipped through pompeii and made it back to the ship around 5pm in time for last aboard which was at 6:15PM. Sal was a wonderful guide. He gave us tons of information along the way and plenty of free time. Next time I wish we had gone to the museum for pompeii in naples. Read Less

Well this was our first experience of a Celebrity cruise. We have cruised many times with Princess, RCL, Holland America, P&O (just once) and Scenic Tours. Up until now, our worst cruise was with P&O on the Oriana, but this comes a very close second. It was advertised a an Immersive Wine Cruise. That was of little interest to us, but we needed an accessible cabin with a twin next to it and this was the only option at the time of booking. I was assured that Celebrity was 5 star and we would have a great time. I would firstly like to say what was good about the cruise: Embarkation was speedy and efficient and we were in the buffet with a cup of tea in hand within 45 minutes of arriving at Harwich. We found all of the staff amazing. Without exception, they looked after both my disabled son and daughter and myself and partner. The staff in the buffet couldn't do enough for us and always had time to speak to my son and daughter and ask about their day. The cabins were adequate. We had two inside cabins on deck 3 and the beds were very comfortable, although the cabins were 'tired' and our valance was ripped and stained. I have to say that a plastic shower curtain sticking to your legs did not seem 5 star to me. Our two cabin stewards did their job, just, but we have had much better. On two occasions, the sheet on our bed was not even straightened and we had to pull the bottom of it down and tuck in ourselves before getting into bed. Guest relations were extremely helpful and we have no complaints at all with their friendliness or service. Now onto things that were not good; Firstly, I have never been on a ship where there were so many extremely rude and arrogant guests. There are always a certain number of people with no manners, but I would say 80% were positively Neanderthal! I cannot believe that people could stand at the buffet demanding omelettes, pastas, stir fry's etc without so much as a please or thank you! Shame on you. Unfortunately, I would rate the food in general as poor. We did eat mainly in the buffet as the restaurant did not have suitable choices for my son. The emphasis seems to be an Asian cuisine with and without the grill station, we would have been lost. The grill station was also the only way of getting hot food. The temperature of the food on the general buffet almost cold. The cleanliness of the ship also left a lot to be desired. I ran my finger along some of the chrome work in the buffet area and had to go and wash my hands. There was far less evidence of ongoing cleaning than on any other ship we had travelled on. Entertainment was generally good in the theatre, with the exception of the magician, who we watched pulling things out of his coat. The entertainment around the ship was not so good with the female resident singer being positively out of tune on every song....... not good for the ears and to be avoided at all costs. The shops sold very little that well travelled folks would want, mainly what we refer to in the UK as junk. To top it all, one of our cases was ripped on disembarkation. As we had to wait for our cases to be found, we didn't check them over. My new Antler case now has a two inch rip in the underside and apparently we cannot claim from Celebrity because we did not notice until we arrived home. I have to say that I am now worried as we booked with Celebrity for next year at the same time that we booked this cruise. We are doing 3 b to b's on the Eclipse, a total of 37 days. I hope that someone will tell me that the standard is going to be an awful lot better than the Infinity. Read Less
