First and Last Time

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

We just returned from our cruise on Celebrity Solstice and can say that we will never sail on them again. While the ship is well maintained and easy to get around, the customer service, staff knowledge, and prices were anything but acceptable. Examples: 1) We found out that prior to arriving in Honolulu where we met the ship, all bar prices were raised 80%. This was done, as explained by ...

Could be much better!

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

The ship is very clean and well maintained. From the first evening in the mdr, the food was consistently poor quality. The same meat was served over and over, whether in the mdr, Cafe, or speciality restaurants. From terrible coffee to raw salmon (not sushi) to veal that could not be cut with a steak knife. We turned countless meals back. The cafe food was unattractive and tasteless. They couldn't ...

It has been several months that I have given Celebrity the opportunity to follow up and make good on the concerns and disappointments my sister and I experienced on our most recent cruise from Honolulu to Vancouver in April 2015 so I am now going to post this review as I have not received the promised call back I was given in May. I am not one who likes to or complains often but felt it was ...

First, the good news. Shashi and Charlie, our waiters for the majority of our evening meals, and Roberta, our sommelier, were wonderful. They are very friendly, helpful, accommodating, and have provided excellent service. In addition, Bernardo, our room steward, provided excellent service. These people are to be commended and have represented Celebrity very well. Now, the bad news. We ...

Not a creme de la cruise!

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

My husband and I were told by our travel agent that this would be our creme de la creme cruise. Unfortunately, this was the worst bang for our buck of a life time of cruising. Water @$5.75 a bottle. Bingo cards starting @ $39 up. Men's restroom near diningroom was out of order for 2 days. Ladiesrooms rarely had paper toilet seat covers and never had seat sanitizer dispensers filled. Our 2nd to ...

Surpass all others? I don't think so.

We embarked at 4 pm on 2 November at Honolulu with departure scheduled for 11 pm. Luckily we did not try to embark earlier as other passengers told us that there was a total blockage at around 1 pm. Things went downhill from there. A suitcase was still missing at 10 pm when Emergency Drill was announced. The muster station shown on the cabin door was entirely different to that shown on our cabin ...

NICE ISLANDS SHAME ABOUT THE SHIP

Having had a wonderful cruise two years ago on Eclipse thought we would go to Hawaii have to say the Solstice is not a patch on Eclipse in every way. We knew we were in for a wait when we arrived and were told to go and take a seat and have a drink and snack, 3 hours later we were called on board only to be told that the rooms would be ready at 5.30, OK we know why they were doing this, due tot ...
