As an Elite Captain's Club member on Celebrity Infinity's Antarctica cruise sailing January 22nd from Buenos Aires, I related my disappointment to the Concierge Mr. Hernandez in the Library on the 8th floor. He basically blew me off. I have already booked 4 cabins on a Celebrity Cruise in the Caribbean next February. I thinking we may need to cancel and change lines. I have not heard one word about my complaints. We only stopped twice in 14 days. The captain did not spin the ship around much and therefore did not get good views of wildlife others saw on the opposite side of the ship. (we were on the Port side). Also the shore excursion in Ushuaia on the Terra Del Fuego, we did not get there when scheduled, instead we were 3 hours late, they piled too many people on some catamarans thru the harbor, could not see anything then we got off at the national park and they proceed to bus us back to town, too late for anything to be open (10:15) with the ship leaving at 11:30. For such an expensive cruise, they did not do a very good job of keeping us entertained. there was little to do on the ship, and the crew was also not prepared for 12 days at sea with only the 2 stops. Corporate was clearly all about the money! So Celebrity what are you going to do for all of us unhappy customers? Trip Advisor and cruise critic are my next stops. Read Less

The itinerary on Celebrity Infinity was excellent: Buenos Aires to Ushuaia to Cape Horn to Antarctica to Port Stanley, Falkland’s, to Puerto Madryn to Montevideo and back to Buenos Aires. The only issue with it was the first [boring] 3 days at sea, but we skipped them by flying to Ushuaia directly. (Yet, Celebrity, of course, not only issues no refund for those 3 days, but charges a fee to allow you to embark in a different port. The funny part of that was a call from them on the day of the departure with a question of why we are not on the ship. Despite the fee charged, they did not bother to communicate our embarkation exclusion to the vessel!) There's more. Unfortunately, a week before sailing, Celebrity sent an email that they have a problem with the ship’s propulsion system, as such they won’t have sufficient speed and will have to cancel our visit to Puerto Madryn. It was very bad news, but at least they promised to refund one day as an excuse; not a fair exchange of course but something. (Later on the ship, during our Inside Access Tour, we of course asked in the mechanical room what the problem they have with the propulsion system, but the crew politely did not give an answer.) The worst part came later. They suddenly cancelled Port Stanley as well. This time it was “for safety reasons”, saying that the weather is too bad there, that it’s a strong wind of 55-80 kph and getting to the shores is not possible. Alas, there is a big problem with this statement. First of all, the crew already knew and many people told us two days before that we won’t go to Port Stanley; that's before there was any reliable weather information. Also, our sailing through Drake Passage was extremely smooth. We were really lucky with the weather! Then at 5 AM on the morning we were supposed to sail to Port Stanley I checked the weather there and it was …sunny with 50 kph wind indeed but also CALMING to 25 kph during the day. Nonetheless, “for our safety” we did not go there. Of course, people attacked all officers with tons of questions. The main one being why not visit Puerto Madryn or another port in Argentina instead. We got no answer. I also had an opportunity to ask the captain personally on the real reason for skipping Stanley. The answer was, “I’m the captain, I know better.” So, it looks like Celebrity Infinity either has a big technical problem with the vessel (and then it’s a real safety issue!) or saves money on port fees, etc., maximizing their profits. Either way, my advice is to never use this company. They have no respect for their customers, easily ruining vacations for 2000+ people. Read Less

We wanted to take a cruise with ETA which allows for motorcycle. This was the ship they were using. However, we had taken previous cruise with Celebrity Eclipse and had a wonderful time. Will definitely go again. Service, food, entertainment and the people were all friendly and appeared happy with their jobs. The various venues on the ship provided variety throughout the days and nights. Cabin has plenty of storage. The shower was larger than other cruise ships we have traveled. Plenty of hot water. Getting on and off the ship at the ports was very easy and no long lines. Main dining room service and food was very good with good presentation. The waiters were very attentive and knew exactly what our drink of choice was for dinner. The wine sommenier was amazing. He would remember the wine of choice as well a make perfect recommendations. We will definitely travel with Celebrity again. Eclipse is great ship....it would depend on the ports but it is a wonderful ship. Read Less

The crew works extremely hard to make sure you have a great time, and to overcome issues you may run into. Javier, our naturalist, grew up on the Islands, and knew how to make the excursions entertaining. He was terrific. There is a great attention to safety, and you always feel like someone is there if you falter on land or sea. Cabins are good size. I had been on the Eclipse the week before, and the shower on this boat was actually bigger than on the Eclipse. I, personally, have bad knees, so here are a few things to think about if you have this or some other disability: 1). This is a small boat with steep ladders between decks. You need to be able to climb them. 2). There is only one naturalist on board, and only 1 type of excursion. The larger boats offer options for people who are not as nimble. In spite of what Celebrity tells you, this boat does not. What they did do for me, which worked well, was send an additional crew member with me, to help me over rough spots and to allow me to return early, which I did a few times. They also offered me a Zodiac ride in places where I didn't hike. I got to see most of the same animals on the ride. 3). Everything is done with Zodiacs. You have to be able to get in and out of them several times a day. This is a small boat and it rocks quite a bit. We went during calm seas, and it was pretty bumpy at times. In rough seas this would be an issue, at least for me. There is wireless internet, but its very very slow. Food is good; very fresh, Tasty and plentiful but the variety is far less than a big cruise ship. That was fine for us. Read Less

This tops any previous cruise. Aqua Class has us spoiled for any other level - from the flowers, wine, fruit, evening treats and use of the Persian Garden to the food in Blu. Their service was exceptional - from our waiters to the wine steward...even the front desk knew our names on the second day. Each port was unique and provided enough time to get a perspective of life at each stop. Only wish is that the ports were closer to areas of interest. Having a sea day between ports to relax was helpful as tours required full, long days. Our small group planned our sightseeing through Tours By Locals and was never disappointed. Easy pickup; english speaking guides; delicious local restaurants; cost effective; outlined to meet our requests...even the tailor shop in Hoi An...we felt we saw twice the sights compared to a normal cruise tour. It was also nice to have large vans to relax on the longer trips into town. Read Less

This was not a 14 day cruise it was a 13 day cruise spending the last day and night in Hong Kong harbour.Where we left from. 1 The shows were below standard 2 The food was poor with the exception of 3 meals, which were excellent 3 The stops were impossible to experience night life or night markets with exception of Hanoi which was a 7.5 hour return trip by taxi or bus, unless you spent the night in a hotel in Hanoi, extra expense. 4 The entertainment on board, should you not wish to leave the ship in port, was non existent 5 You were not given any alternative information re travel should you not wish to take excursions eg Taiwan, there was a train direct. 6 There were no cooking classes re the food of the countrys we visited. 7 The state rooms were excellent. We had a beverage package, and drank cold drinks from the mini bar in our state room, they dont tell you this is not part of the beverage and charge you ,which is foolish,as you can order drinks at any bar and bring it down to your room.I did query this and they reversed the charges. 8 The service was excellent and the staff were excellent 9 Embarkation and Disembarkation excellent 10 The visibility of officers and captain, were unique, the captain was even down stairs in disembarkation wishing us all well. In all with the exception of staff and offices stateroom and captain a very poor cruise, which i would not recommend to any one,the worst cruise ever.We have travelled on Cunnard,Princess,Crystal,MSC,Costa and more, this was the worst. We chose this cruise because it was recommended by Butterfield and Robinson. We have traveled three times before on private, Bespoke family trips with them. And previously have stayed in luxurious and unique accommodations. We definitely were unprepared for the Xperience. As we approached the ship we saw the rusted anchor and hand painted Xperience sign on the boat. Celebrity lists the ship as being remodeled I think in 2017. The dining room looks pretty good, the reception area about a grade B. The staterooms are another story. New bed coverings and pillows, the rest I don't think had been touched. This ship used to be the M/V Eclipse which came to be in the 80's. The bathroom is like something from summer camp. We were in room 400, Elite ocean view. The most expensive category on the ship. Our adult children were premium ocean view, the second most expensive category. Our cabin attendant George was amazing, efficient and always smiling- a true asset to this aging ship! But even George can't make up for no wi-fi ( had to ask the hotel manager what the password was and he finally gave it to us written on a post it note)- think we were finally able to connect probably twice in the reception area) a TV that doesn't work( only get channels 21,22,30 and only play old DVD's- most of the time you get only 2 of those channels- sometime none- and never lets you watch a whole movie without cutting out- by the way Celebrity lists this as satellite TV. Celebrity also says you can pick a firmness for your mattress and pillow type- never was asked about that. And the bathroom- hope I can post a picture . The food was always served buffet style. Plenty of variety, the quality was pretty much like summer camp- dorm food . The wait staff is attentive and amazing. We just loved them. I got severe diarrhea on the second day, that's six full days on the ship, a long plane ride home and it's still with me as I post today. We had six people in our party and 1/2 got it. I talked to several other guests and they had the same problem. One night I looked around at dinner and one full table of 8 was gone, with two other tables missing guests. In a ship that holds 48 guests, really doesn't advertise any kind of room service, and has no fast food or alternate dining choices available I think that is very telling. Thank goodness they had a ships doctor onboard. Had we been warned that the ship was, as the wonderful guide Karina stated "more like a summer camp" we would have prepared ourselves and possibly booked another ship- possibly the Silver Seas. The Galapagos is a magical very remote place-but for those who want a luxury experience- this truly isn't it. This trip was probably the most expensive trip our family has booked to date. If you look at Butterfield and Robinsons trips for 2018 they seem to have chosen another vessel for their trips Read Less

SHIP: We are cruising since almost 10 years and take at least 2 cruises per year. So far we have tried Oceania Cruises (Marina-PH2 Suites), HAL (Koningsdam-Vista Suite), MSC (Aurea Suites) and TUI Cruises (Junior and Captain Suites) on several occasions. This has been our first cruise with Celebrity Cruises and we have been very insecure prior starting our vacation due to so many negative reviews here. We have received a very good offer with all 4 „perks“ included (all inclusive premium drinks package, pre-paid gratuities, unlimited internet access for 2 and a shipboard credit of USD 300,-/cabin) and decided to try Celebrity as we wanted always to discover South East Asia… After all we would state, that this cruise has been by far the best „suite life“-experience we have enjoyed so far on a cruise ship. We always have been treated like king and queen from any staff member on board (No matter of cabin category you have been booked in!). They all work so hard every single day and still have a smile on their lips… Despite the MILLENNIUM is an old ship (the oldest within the fleet of Celebrtity Cruises) she is still very nice and very very clean. Despite several refits there are still some occasional signs of aging, but the ship is still very well looked after. The signs of age are mostly shown in cabins (bathrooms, furnishings, balcony railings) and in SOLARIUM/ Persian Garden area where there are some new and very pretty lounge furnishing, but the covered pool has plenty of rust spots and the glass dome seemed very old and not cleaned for a longer time. The sauna area is not up to date, the Persian Garden is inside without any window… Restaurants, bars and public areas in general are stil very nice. Do not let this minor unperfections spoil your vacation! Even on newer ships like MS Marina (Oceania cruises) and MS Koningsdam (HAL) there are several rust spots… Even in our home not everything is perfect! DINING: Dining has been one of the highlights of our cruise on one side and the cabin and the itinerary/ ports of call itself on the other side. As suite guests we have been allowed to dine at the LUMINAE Suite class restaurant, which has been open on each day for breakfast and dinner and on seadays also for lunch. The restaurant is very elegant (furnishings seem the same on all Luminae-Restaurants fleetwide). The Menu has a very limited choise of 4 appetizers, 4 entrees and 3-4 desserts, but you can choose as many courses (including entrees) as you would like to and in the event of missing anything you can order a la minute and they will make their best efforts to refill your wish. You can also order any course from the Main Dining Room (MDR)/ Metropolitan Menu. The quality of food has been extraordinary and offered a wide choise of meat, fish and vegetarian foods. We are foodies and really liked the cuisine. In our opinion the LUMINAE restaurant stands above even the specialty restaurants on Oceania Cruises and even Pinnacle Grill on HAL. We have even got one of the best soufflés so far on a cruise ship. The wine list has been quite large and we could enjoy or favourite wines: Austrian Grüner Veltliner and Riesling (for white) and Burgundy and Bordeaux (for red ones). Our another favorite venue has been the CAFE AL BACCO AND GELATERIA with the fresh italian coffee and small suite delights (complimentary if you order a drink) in the early morning and afternoons. The AQUA SPA CAFE has offered a good choise of heathly food, breads and fresh juices and smoothies. On 2 nights we have tried the QSINE and have found the food to be quite good, but the focus has been mainly on the different/ unconventional kind of presentation. Our favorite dish has been the Mediterian delights (thought too big portion). The waitress GORDANA from Macedonia has been a real treasure and provided a merorable service. One night we ate at TUSCAN GRILLE, but neither the food nor the provided service met expectations, so we have cancelled the pre-booked second visit (Celebrity have refunded payment immediately!). As suite guests we had complimentary access to MICHAEL´S CLUB LOUNGE with the concierge service desk (Rhiannon Lewis has been so helpfull on several ocasions) and the afternoon High Tea Service on each day. We have never ate at the self-service OCEANVIEW CAFE & GRILL, so can not make any comment on this venue. The open air terrace at the back seemed quite nice however… CABIN: On this cruise we have booked a CELEBRITY SUITE (CS 6104) on deck 6. The cabin has offered a great location midst of the ship without any noise disturbances from other cabins (sometimes we could hear the neighbours from the sky suite beside banging the wardrobe shelfs in and out). This cabin type is a real suite, as you have a large separate living room with large dining area, entrance hall and a separate bedroom with walk-in closet and en-suite bathroom. While the living room is very bright with the large window front going around the entire living room front, the bedroom is complitely dark as laying inside. For us this was perfect, as we are very light sleepers and enjoyed to have a complitely dark bedroom. The dining table has been large enough for up to 4 people and we have regulary enjoyed our breakfast in the suite. The biggest disappointment with the room was however the bathroom. Comparing to the rooms size and layout this seems quite small and old. The height/ entrance in to the bath is quite high and very difficult for ederly people, this becase a real issue… Also there is no socket/ electricity layout in order to connect an electrical device/ toothbrush etc. We had to order an extendable cable which has been provided immediately. The furniture itself is old and needs replacement, but still good in shape and clean. The balcony infront of the living room is quite narrow, but of good size with 2 chairs, a food step and a small table. SERVICE: As mentioned previously we have been very satisfied with all crew members on board! They all made our holidays to become a great experience and we can only confirm Captain´s Leo words: we have welcomed you as foreigners, but will say good bye to you as good friends. Our maitre in Luminae NATASHA from Macedonia has been a great person and soo freiendly, as well MILLA (somellier) and all the waiters… After few nights they all knew our Names, prerefed table and drinks… We could not await it to return every evening to our restaurant…Our butler RAMIR has been the best we had so far on a sea and has been so helpfull on any occasion. One day we have decided to carry out a party in our suite for some other fellow passagners who became friends on board and Rhiannon (concierge) and our butler have beed so great of providing some canapes, sweets and drinks for all 12 people! This service has been for free! Thank you! Our suite manager Denny Flores and his spanish collegue from Alicante (sorry forgot her name) have been also very helpfull after an issue with the bathroom access and have even done a very nice poresent for our next cruise with Celebrity. The guest Relations Manager ALANA from South Africa has even refunded us the costs for our private visas in Vietnam (more than USD 175,-), as this has been caused due to wrong informations from their sale office/ representatives in Austria/ Germany. Our suite attendant has kept the suite always tidy and clean. ENTERTAIMNET: The cruise line show productions have been almost all good and we have especially enjoyed their guest entertainers on board, especially the young singer lady from Jamaica who is living in Japan and as best the Celebritys exsclusive british signer lady JAYNE CURRY with her great voice(not many songs but all of them san great!) and british humor! SPORT/ SPA: The fitness room is surprisingly big and offers a large number of fitness equipment in some hours the room could become quite croudy, but in general you could always make a good workout. The PERSIAN GARDEN area is quite dark, as laying inside; we found the sauna and changing rooms and showers to be quite old and the SOLARIUM covered pool need some attention. The sunloungers at the Solarium are quite new and comfy. Celebrity shall refit this area when ship is in dry dock next time. SHIP EXCURSIONS: As on every cruise line all offered ship excursions are quite expensive, so we have done all of them on our own. The airplane scenic flight in Halong Bay was just 1/3 of the price we have been asking from the cruise line for example! RECOMMENDATIONS: We can recommend the MILLENNIUM SHIP to any cruisers looking for a cruise in style with superb food and great service provided from any crew member! We definitely consider cruising again with Celebrity on one of their Millennium Class ships and for sure with the bigger Solstice-Class ones. According to the infos provided on bord all ships fleetwide will undergo a totally refurbishment by the end of 2020 in order to bring them all to tho the new EDGE-Class level… Read Less

Food was good in restaurant. Had wonderful waiter Joseph and asst. waiter Preya. I would have taken them home with me if I could. Casino had outdated machines that did not pay well. Only a few people won. I would not go on this ship again. Entertainment was good. Service was exceptional. I suggest that they find some more things to do during the day. Too many lectures on jewelry, skin care. They do not have solo prices or cabins so u pay double. Late night snacks included pizza, pasta, salad and a small assortment of cakes. All carbs at nite. The boat did rock more than normal. I thought the second pool was a wave pool but it was just the rocking of the boat. Read Less
