We had cruised with Celebrity once before and had enjoyed the experience. This cruise was to take us to destinations we wanted to see in Southern Japan and Taiwan.
Boarding in Singapore alerted us to how seriously Celebrity was taking the Corona threat. We had been advised the previous evening of possible itinerary changes and the rules for boarding, depending on your recent whereabouts in Asia. ...
We arrived at the port early because we were uncertain of delays along the way do to driving approximately 3 hours to get to Ft Lauderdale. We had no issues finding a space in the parking garage adjacent to the terminal. We decided to drop off our luggage and then park which was a brilliant idea. It was an easy walk, very convenient from the parking garage despite the cost. When inside the ...
We flew from Sydney to Auckland via Air New Zealand and stayed three nights at the Sofitel property Grand Windsor in Queen St. We had breakfast included and there were plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby for lunches and dinners. The hotel was in a great location. Highly recommend day trip to Waiheke Island (and we would stay overnight when we visit NZ again).
We travelled with another couple ...
We flew from London to Auckland via Emirates. Everything ran as per schedule and we arrived in New Zealand 3 days prior to the cruise. It took about an hour or so to go through immigration and customs before leaving the airport. However apart from usual bag checks no other checks like temperature monitoring were being carried out at the airport. We were transferred to our central Auckland hotel ...
Celebrity Cruises had to announce on the afternoon before we left home that the ship was no longer sailing from Singapore, but from Dubai. Amazingly we were redirected to Dubai for the first 4 nights instead of Singapore and whilst the hotel was not ideal (Holiday Inn in Festival City Dubai) it was adequate for 4 nights. The transport to and from the airport and Port Rashid on the day we set sail ...
Celebrity cruises when sailing to the Caribbean isn’t the very best that they have to offer in entertainment
Depending on the cruise director ( we been on a particular sailing with an Argentinian cruise director who in my opinion was excellent) they pretty much set the tone as for entertainment, you may experience some Caribbean flavor as in music, dancing etc
It’s also hit or miss who ...
We have sailed on 4 Celebrity ships all in Aquaclass, and enjoy the access to BLU as well as the Spa amenities. We chose Solstice for the itinerary, as New Zealand was on the bucket list. We stayed in Auckland, on Princes Wharf, so we were able to leave our hotel room, walk to the end of the building, drop our luggage, and enter the cruise port within a few minutes. We were directed to a line ...
As we were leaving home Celebrity changed the embarkation port from a Singapore to Dubai and dropped the Phuket port call All this was due to the evolving Covi-19 epidemic.
Onboard we were maybe at two-thirds occupation due to the cancellations. This meant that everything was much easier than expected - no pressure on sun beds, dinner times, buffet or the theatre.
The staff were excellent ...
We choose this cruise because our December Cruise to the Far east was cancelled because of illness. We need to get some Vitamin D after another winter in Chicago, but it was mild winter as far as temps and snow.
Since we had to send our pictures and credit card information weeks before the cruise for pre-boarding documents in made embarking quite painless. We had 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM boarding ...
I will start by saying that we had a wonderful time and will cruise again with Celebrity anytime. But there are always glitches with any vacation.
The check-in procedure was the worst ever because the computers went down and the lines went around the building.I know they did the best the could but they did nothing to help out those who were handicapped and that could not stand for the 45 min. ...
