Six seniors, 72 and up, 4 from Phoenix, 2 from Washington felt this sailing took us to new Caribbean ports. We normally prefer Celebrity and this ship was well rated, good sail date for our needs with reasonable pricing. Two couples in inside cabins and one in a balcony.
PRE BOARDING: We flew in the day before, a Sunday and all stayed at Residence Inn on Anglers in Dania Beach. The provided ...
Embarkation was confusing but prompt. (The ship was full.) The crowd was almost all over 55. I think we saw 8 kids - all under 6. Our bags were in our room quickly. The online safety checkin was quick.
Our room was more spacious that I expected. The shower was nice sized. The balcony easily accommodated the two of us. Adequate drawer and closet space.
Getting power to our CPAPs was ...
We have been on over 20 Celebrity cruises and have attained Elite Plus status. This was our eight time on the Equinox (visiting the same ports we've visited for years), but the first time in 5 years. We were on a back to back (19 days at sea), so the review includes our experiences on the 9 Night Aruba, Curacao & Cayman Cruise. Below I outline what we found to be the good, the not-so-good and ...
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our cruise (our 9th)-
Great staff, good slick service generally and the ship was in absolutely fine condition given it is about to be dry docked and refurbed.
Main complaint was around chaos every evening in MDR and menu choice which was pretty poor. For the first time every cruising we chose to got Ocean View one evening as the starters consisted of 4 soups and ...
Got back to cruising about 10 years ago and have cruised Celebrity exclusively (approx 10 cruises) since. I looked forward to being on the Reflection again after two consecutive cruises on the Edge. I have always liked the main dining room experience over the years. However on this cruise, I was a bit dissapointed. Waiter/Asst. Waiter service was okay. They took our order and delivered our ...
The service, staff, entertainment, food and amenities all amazing.
Menus in four main restaurants were not very varied however food was always good. The Oceanview Cafe selections were outstanding however the cafe was always crowded and there were often lineups for some foods…and of course some folks simply ignored the queue and just barged in!!
The amenities-pools, cafes, bars, sewing ...
This was our 6th transatlantic, the 1st on Celebrity with the others on RCCL. It was a more northerly crossing than we are use to so we expected it to be a little rougher and cooler. It met those expectations and more with it being generally cloudy on most sea days.
Entertainment - with these T/A's the cruise lines typically brings in top notch performers and they (like the guests) are ...
We sailed on the Celebrity Edge in cabin with the Infinite Veranda. We were happy with our room. The location was quiet. The exterior view we had was great. I was nervous about this new infinite veranda design after reading several negative reviews, but we both loved it and used our balcony daily. We have sailed on several cruises before, all balcony rooms. This was the first time we experienced a ...
This was our first cruise with Celebrity and although we had a great time and the ports of call were spectacular, there were a few somewhat disappointing issues. Although the food, overall, was delicious, we found service at the bars and coffee bar to be lacking. The bartenders/baristas routinely ignored us, and were not friendly or helpful. We had upgraded to Concierge Class but had to ask for ...
I have to say overall it was a great cruise. Started in Rotterdam and ended in Athens. The service was impeccable. So helpful and friendly. I was with a group of 12 others. We tried all 4 restaurants the first 4 nights then ate in Eden the 5th night. During that dinner we said we missed going to the same restaurant with the same waiter every night. So I spoke with the matre' d and every night at ...
