We chose this cruise first for the itinerary which included southern Caribbean islands we hadn't visited before and the great value. I've previously cruised on Carnival and Princess, and I definitely feel like this ship and Celebrity are a step above those two lines. Sailing out of Puerto Rico was also a first for us, and overall this more southern port made access to islands like Barbados and St. Lucia attainable for a seven-day cruise. Embarkation was simple and fast at the Pan American pier. As an Aqua Class guest, we had an expedited check in line, and were through the line at 11:30AM in five minutes from drop off to getting our welcome complimentary glass of sparkling wine. There were a lot of things to love about this ship. The decor and artwork were much more contemporary than any Carnival or Princess ship I've ever cruised, and that's a huge plus to me. While other reviews mentioned that the ship shows its age, I really didn't notice this. It's very well attended. The smaller size made it feel generally less crowded, although the main pool area could get busy and loud on sea days and after returning to the ship. My preference was the solarium with the two hot tubs, thalassotherapy pool, padded loungers, and air-conditioned enclosure. It's quieter here with nice views of the sea and soothing music. Access to the bar was close-- just through the doors to the pool area. The best part about the experience was the overall service level of the staff on this cruise. With small exception, service quality was all five-star. The crew were concerned about how well we liked everything. We had a small problem on the first day with the toilet flushing and on the second day with our sink leaking, but these things were fixed within a few hours. In each case, we got calls to our room to confirm that the problem was fixed and that we were satisfied with the resolution. We even got calls to our room after we had room service deliver our breakfasts to confirm our satisfaction with the food and the order. Our stateroom attendant, Suzannie, was fantastic. She'd visit our room two or three times a day, delivering beach towels for our excursions, dropping off afternoon canapes, getting us our sparkling wine when we ordered it, replacing our pillows with memory foam ones, and even replacing our beach back pack when I requested. Food overall was very good. We dined in Blu almost exclusively and I found the service to be the best I've ever experienced on a cruise and on par with any top quality restaurant on land. We had a team of people to serve us from the manager and hostess Alisa, to our head waiter Roy and assistant waiter Chedli, to the sommelier, to the bar waiter Nathasha, and even the backup staff who'd take away plates, serve us coffee in the morning for breakfast, or bring around the tray of pastries. Food quality was better than I've experienced before, if not Michelin star quality. The food itself looked great presentation wise and tasted very good. My only nit was that sometimes it was a bit overcooked: my ribeye and veal loin both ordered medium rare came more medium. It's good to know that the menu from the main dining room was also available, and we could mix and match from the two menus for any meal. The staff knew us by name by the second day. Room service for breakfast was always on time and great. The room service menu from Aqua Class was better than anything on Carnival or Princess. Made to order omelets, pancakes, multiple types of meats, any type of breads or pastries, juices including fresh squeezed were also complimentary. We tried specialty restaurant QSine on the first night. They were offering a discount of $35, but I waited until later and spoke with someone at the host stand in the restaurant around 5PM and got a discount to $30 per person. QSine overall was fun, food quality was generally great, and service was also five-star. We ordered 10 different options and shared them over the course of about 3 hours which included a break on the first night for the compulsory muster drill in the Rendezvous lounge. When we mentioned that we didn't particularly like one dish, the waiter then talked to the kitchen and got us special courses which weren't even on the menu. The dishes were a lot more circuses than bread, but the experience was amazing. We skipped Sushi on Five because they offered no special deals to eat there after the first night and everything was a ‘la carte. The Tuscan Grille menu, heavy with pasta and red meat didn't appeal to us, either. Fitness in the gym was great. The gym had towels, water and very up to date TechnoGym cardio equipment for running, biking, recumbent biking, and elliptical trainers. It was never crowded. The other passengers were probably just about 6-10 years older than we were on average. I'm 53, and my husband is 55. They were very international with multiple Canadians, Germans, Puerto Ricans, and French onboard. The people we met were the friendliest among cruisers we've ever met. We made great friends! My major disappointment with the ship would have to be the activities and entertainment overall, especially compared to Carnival and Princess. As for enrichment activities, unless you count our beloved trivia, there were none I noticed. We enjoy trivia and played twice. The first time, there was no prize given. We play an Eighties late night name that tune group game in the Revelations lounge one night and this was an exception. We had a blast attending this. As for the evening shows, I would say that the onboard talent was better than Princess or Carnival, but the shows had no cohesive productions. They were basically vehicles for sequential musical numbers which got a little boring. There were two very good aerialists, however. We missed the magician, who I heard was good the first night, but the pianist was boring, the comedian bombed unless you were over 75 years old, and I'm not old enough to want a Beatles or Motown review. The live singers and performers were okay to good, with the best one being the band performing in the Revelations lounge and in the main pool deck on sailaways. The string duo were anemic. Nevertheless, this was an elevated cruising experience for us. I liked it so much, I cancelled a cruise planned for October on the new Carnival Horizon in a Havana cabana, and rebooked to join trailblazer Captain Kate McCue on the Equinox to the ABC islands. I hope my next cruise lives up to this wonderful experience. Celebrity is awesome. Read Less

We chose this cruise during the week before Christmas - I am a public school teacher so the timeframe fit well. We had no problems during embarkation. We toured the ship and tried to get our bearings aligned! The spa/fitness center was located on the same deck as our suite so we were able to utilize that so that time could be spent doing more enjoyable things! I think deck 12 was perfect! Dining was just perfect! We only toured the buffet once and then ate at Luminae on 8 occasions! This restaurant was stupendous and excellent. The Maitre de' Restaurant was Franco, the Hostess was Simona, our waiter was Dev and he was assisted by Verona and GaGa and the wine steward was Iven (pronounced like Steven without the St). This team of excellent people were THE BEST the ship has to offer! Any question would be met with research and useful information, suggestions made to order, and service could not be better at all! The chef and pastry chef were all on point and the new menu nightly leaves no time for bordom of any kind! This restaurant was spacious but cozy, beautifully decoded, comfortable and inviting. We seriously felt like we were going to this dinner table at home each night. We can not say enough positive things about this restaurant. We did heat one lunch at an outside Pool /Deck Grill one day and the food was really good! We also enjoyed a Seafood Shack at Quisine one afternoon and it could not have been more perfect! A basket of food containing calimari, jumbo shrimp, lobster, muscles, crab cakes, crab/seafood bisque, garlic bread, Cole slaw, and French fries with spicey aioli, and tarter sauces. It was a divine meal alpthough way too mulch for lunch! I am normally not a seafood eater - I grew up in Oklahoma and had crappie and bass my entire life. But this food was prepared well and tasted delicious! I wasn't able to do the calimari but it was the only item on the menu I thought was flavorless and just not good. My husband loved it though so that tells you something about our likes and dislikes differences! Shore excursions were great trips but they are really planned too late to get there in time and end too early for us to get back to the ship in time. It makes me nervous to have to run like a crazy person to get back and not having a second to stop to check out souvenirs to purchase from where we are visiting! The last day excursion was very terribly planned, we were taken to the bus and dropped off. No one knew what was going on, where we were supposed to be, how much time we had...they even lost track of four people and I know ot really upset the pneople! Sawgrass Recreation Park and the Everglades Excursion was interesting but needs more training and customer service! Stingray City was an ok excursion but there are just too many people on those boats and it makes for a long, stressful, and tiring day. Smaller groups would make that experience so much better! The Turtle Farm was awesome! We chose to have our bags picked up by 10:00 the last night and the were checked onto Dallas from that point! We didn't mess with them until we arrived at our destination! What an awesome program! We highly recommend this one for sure! The photo package we bought which included all the photos the photographers snapped, is a really good deal. You just have to communicate with the photographers and ask for photos and poses you want in particular! Read Less

I choose to cruise because I knew it will be a quiet one, 9 days in the middle of December only quiet people will book that sailing. I was as I expected. I dance every night in empty salons all for me. Sometimes feels as if I was the only person on board. Amaizing, I do not need people to feel great. Thshows were excellent. Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Canyon Ranch Spa Is nice as well as their employee except management and front desk girl, such a lack of costumer service education. An employee at the Sauna, Alicia told me with a disgusting gesture that my body stink alcohol, I do not drink alcohol at all I was drinking lemonade from the cafeteria and on my body Chance by Chanel. When complain to the front desk about such an insult I was told SORRY, I insist that way of a sorry was not enough and the manager (over the phone never came to talk to me personally) she say SORRY too, it was the night before arriving to Fort Lauderdale, and I let it go of my mind, after all I was very happy with my vacation. My room attendant Piedade was very profesional and polite. Leo at the restaurant such a nice guy very attentive to our needs and preferences. The swiming pools very clean. The whole vessel is very well taking care of. Read Less

So this was our first cruise on Celebrity cruises, but we've previously sailed on NCL, Carnival. Princess. Holland America Line, Costa, MSC and Royal Caribbean. Overall it was a fantastic cruise! Great ship, food, staff and islands. We had 3 port changes due to hurricane/port issues - St Maarten (replaced with St Kitts), Dominca (replaced with Martinique) and St Lucia (replaced with Antigua) Pro's- Check in and embarkation took a whole 15minutes after arriving at 11am Cabin was large, clean , good balcony and huge bathroom. Looking old in places, but fine The staff throughout the ship were fantastic, by far the best on any ship we've been on! The gym is a good size, plentiful equipment and good sauna area too Main dining was great, good food choice and great staff Qusine was amazing. Far too much food, but really unique idea and recommended! Con's Very few indeed! The spa area on the ship is pretty small, so not a huge perk of aqua class Blu restaurant was always busy and no better than main dining Perks of Aqua class aren't amazing, but we upgraded for £50, so it was worth it for that. We had classic drinks included which although was great in the main (including fresh juice, special coffees, bottled water etc..) it didn't include things like Baileys and Honey Whisky, so you had to pay extra. Which is fine, but not compatible to the NCL included drinks package. All the ports we went too we would return too! Unlucky with the weather in Martinique, but it's a very lush and green island, plenty to do. Highly recommended cruise line and cruise ship. Very similar to Princess cruises actually. Would certainly sail again Quick note on the hurricanes. We visited St Thomas, which although has a fair amount of damage (palm trees, rural properties) it is still a fantastic island to visit and desperate for people to visit) With Puerto Rico (our embarkation port) is a fantastic place. San Juan is a lovely city and plenty to you, you can't notice the hurricane damage (apart from traffic lights and small shops with generators), further inland the devastation is greater, but they need visitors! We're looking to go back already. Read Less

We chose this cruise for its itinerary, which ended with the F1 . The check in was chaotic, but once on-board that was soon forgotten. Our cabin was at the rear of the ship with a large balcony, this was ideal for our cruising through the Suez canal, offering panoramic views. My personal opinion is that some excursions were over priced but I know others on-board were happy with them. Entertainment was good and varied. No problems with the sunbed but think that was more down to the demographics of passengers. We enjoyed the dining in the main dining room and requested the same location every night as we had an amazing waiter. On previous Celebrity cruises we've struggled to find somewhere to sit at Cafe Al Balcio, this time we never had a problem and enjoyed a coffee while watching the world go by. Would highly recommend this itinerary. Read Less

This was our first cruise and we are British (late 40's) I think we don't like to moan so much as others judging by some of the comments I read before we went. I can't fault this experience, after reading some of the reviews I confess to be a bit worried but alas no need. Food - This ship caters for everyone and anyone no matter what you like, how much of it you like ad what dietary requirements your have. In the Restaurant you can have as many starters/mains as you like and we found the service amazing. We didn't have set times for dinner, just rocked up and got a seat either for two or as the cruise went on with new friends. You have to be a bit organised there is no point turning up at 8pm after show time. The Cafe on floor 10 has multiple culinary delights again to suit all palettes, it's mostly serve yourself but very good, with puddings galore if that's your thing. We used it mostly at lunch as it was close to the pool. (not as close as the burger stop!) Pizza's and other things go on till midnight. Food is endless. One thing you are surely to get is bigger! Drinks - We did the Classic package others upgraded but we found the Classic held it's own and if you fancy something more fancy you just pay the difference and it's all recorded on your account on the room TV. Staff were more than helpful and we got great service including Sun bed service a bit of a luxury. The Martini bar is a great pre and post dinner bar (you don't have to have martini's). The Cosmos good later for partying! Some people were moaning however if you are going to be rude and throw your toys out of the pram because you were next and have to wait a nano second to get another of the drinks you already have in front of you then serves you right. treat as you find is my motto. Entertainment - just too much to pack in as well as sun bathing and trips. The pool party and silent disco were two of our favourites. Cosmos is great once you have met some peeps. Trips - we did our own, much cheaper and usually a slightly better itinerary but if you are a worrier best book with the boat. Really liked Halong Bay as it was close to the Port - didn't like the Tender business as it took ages, with limited info being distributed. Between Halong Bay and the rest of the trips we had the added extra of a Typhoon so we were a day delayed - note get flexible bookings on your hotels if staying away overnight an expect to have to fret a bit - the Cruise ship did help those of us with Third party trips but it was hard unless you had internet which was expensive. Most of the Ports are a long way from the attractions and there isn't much going on at the Ports. So just be careful. We didn't of Hanoi as I didn't want to spend 6 hours on a bus. Vietnam was an experience - ticked it off the list won't go back. We went to Pattaya for the day (see Typhoon comment above we were going to stay overnight but Hotel wouldn't honour the change of date). I quite like Bangkok but we've been before. We went by pre arranged taxi to Pattaya onto the boat across to Koh Lann on the way back we went to Walking street. Neither were really our cup of tea but each to their own. Again nice to have a day off the boat but that's that one. Cabin - on 2nd floor with a window - expertly cleaned and homely. Not massive but did us proud for 2 weeks. Soap, shampoo and conditioner and skin cream (no shower gel) but it's all good stuff. Clothes - worried I hadn't packed right but Chic is really anything goes as long as you are tidy. Nice to have some dresser dresses (not ball gowns) or trousers but sun dresses worked. Boat - they were constantly painting and varnishing and when a stomach bug broke out (which is really passengers not washing their hands) the whole boat was on disinfectant frenzy they couldn't do enough. Loved the pool and all the outside facilities, towels and sun beds galore no reserving going on which was good after a hard evening partying. Gym was bigger than expected and the run/walk track was used quite a bit. Clientelle - Average age there were some youngster (20's) and a good range between 40 - 50. And some oldies. We got on with everyone but found the 40 - 60 year olds great fun and made some fantastic new friends. Do go on Cruise Critic to join groups etc. I did think an added extra would have been a notice board by reception as not many people paid for internet so once you are on the boat that's your contact gone. Or make sure you pre - arrange before you get on the boat. Think that's it. Loved it! Read Less

Wonderful itinerary. This was our 4th cruise on the Silhouette and the experiences are consistently excellent. Entertainment and food was excellent. The food in the main dining room was so good that we decided to bypass the specialty restaurants. However, portions are very small. The lobster tail dinner consisted of one lobster tail. However, more were available if requested. Any time dining was great . No waiting. Our waiter Francisco and assistant Putu were outstanding. Our room attendant Neideson was one of the best we’ve ever had. Production shows were good. Outside entertainers were excellent, as as our cruise director Sue. The ship is getting a little tired looking and should probably be refurbished in the next few years. All in all, this cruise was wonderful. The embarkation was very quick. We were on the ship within 5 minutes of our arrival. Debarkation was also very quick and organized. We will definitely be back. Read Less

The Celebrity Reflection repositioning cruise was an excellent experience, with great weather and lots of options for enrichment, entertainment and relaxation. We chose Celebrity Reflection because of previous very pleasant sailing on the ship; its beautifully designed & spacious multiple spaces that are open and airy; its understated elegance, its arts collection, the wonderful dining venues and innovative delicious menus, the bars, its impeccable "going the extra mile" service from all levels from the cabin stewards, to the restaurant and bar staff, the officers and the staff at gangways, Guest Relations and Excursions desk; and lastly but not last, the enrichment activities, fitness and entertainment -its absolutely wonderful. The crossing was excellent and Celebrity delivered again. I believe that Celebrity offers the best value for its category. Want to recognize the captain Dimitry who was by far the most friendly, amiable and visibly-present throughout the ship I have ever experienced on any prior cruise. We went out of his way to make guests, welcomed, appreciated and entertained. Thanks Captain. Read Less

Just completed the October 2017 Solstice from Hawaii to Sydney. We had a fabulous time. The staff were friendly and the activities team led by Shawna had picked two terrific bands who provided lively dance music to suit lots of different age groups at different times of the evening. This meant that our group of party-goers were able to have fun every single night dancing either in the grand foyer, Sky Lounge or the nightclub. The three silent discos were a blast especially the one up the lawn where we danced barefoot! The headphones provided had three choices of types of music to suit most tastes. Food in the buffet and the main dining room was delicious and the service was always attentive. An exercise dance class with Shawna on sea days helped us to keep fit and not put on weight either ( combined with always taking the stairs not the elevator). One suggestion though- please provide more seats around the foyer on all the levels including the bottom one as older people such as my mother cruising with me cannot endlessly stand up to watch the entertainment. This was our first time on Celebrity and we were very impressed. We have traveled on smaller, more exclusive lines and the ship and the experience on Celebrity were clearly better. The ship was large but that just meant more room to move around. It was always possible to get away from the crowds. The departures and arrivals related to the shore excursions were well planned and executed. These actually worked better than on the smaller ship and the waits were never long. In fact, the excursions virtually always left within minutes of the assigned times. The majority of the staff could not have been friendlier or more committed to service. Our butler (Rene) and our room attendant (Raj) greeted us with smiles each time we saw them and were always readily available to help. They made us feel very special. The ship was immaculate both inside our stateroom and throughout the ship. We were careful in purchasing our packages (including drinks, gratuities, and internet services) so there were no add-on expenses. We had a suite so our dining choices included Luminae. The food was very good so there was no need to pay extra for specialty restaurants. The staff at Michaels, a club available to suite guests, were also very attentive and responsive. Our entertainment was impacted by the Florida hurricane (fewer floor shows), however the entertainment was still top notch. The only minor issue was related to one of the excursions purchased from Celebrity. It was an excursion to Messina, Sicily. We were very disappointed in the excursion ... it basically wasted our day. An even bigger disappointment was that when we complained, all we got was an argument from the shore excursion staff ... no offers to make it right. We did not use Celebrity for our Santorini excursion and the excursion could be done on our own very easily. The Canyon Ranch spa service was very good and the fitness center was well maintained and equipped. Read Less
