We chose a Deck 3 OV cabin. Excellent cabin, and excellent location, close to dining room, theater, views of the ocean, and foyer. Our cabin attendants, Irena and Oliver, were outstanding not only in their work, but also in their friendliness. Their bright smiles and warm Good Mornings started our days even better than a first cup of coffee. As it turned out, another attendant on Deck 3, ...

This was my husband's first cruise and my 3rd. (first in 12 years). It was incredible! My husband insisted we book another TA for 2017. The ship is lovely. I can't say enough about the service. Just perfect! Guest services personnel were very dedicated to their job. And of course, the food. We each gained 8 lbs. Absolutely delicious, from Blu, the MDR and the buffet. The waiters, maitre d' ...

A Return to the Equinox

After a very stressful encounter with US Immigration at Miami, and I have to say it takes a special kind of bully to treat people with such contempt and disregard knowing they are unable to say or do anything about it. Our American friends reassured us that they receive the same treatment. Shame these officials seem to forget we are tourists and visitors to the States and not criminals. Anyway, ...

Celebrity Equinox 2015 Transatlantic – Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale Why this cruise? We usually choose a cruise for its itinerary; modified by the perceived caliber of the cruise line, based on our prior experience if possible. We liked the four stops, particularly Lanzarote and Tenerife in the Canary Islands. We had visited there in 2009 on Equinox’s initial transatlantic voyage, so we had ...

My First Civilian Cruise

My last "cruise" was courtesy of the US Navy 40 years ago when I served in the USMC. Unlike many of my companions on that one, I enjoyed it despite the cramped quarters and sparse amenities. Since then, I'd always been curious about civilian cruises and wanted someday to return to sea. I convinced my wife that we should return from our fall tour of Spain via cruise ship, as the repositioning ...

This is a simply splendid ship full of a really splendid crew, I cannot imagine how Celebrity could improve on either one of them, I don't think I encountered any crew member who wasn't smiling and just falling over themselves to be helpful, really quite incredible. As for the buffet, I don't think I have experienced a better one ever. The selection is just incredible, the quality top drawer ...

We returned to the USA this morning, wrapping up an 18-day trip that included 4+ days in Barcelona and then the 13-night transatlantic cruise. We really enjoy the Solstice-class ships and this was no exception. The semi-annual transatlantic crossing is really nice. Plenty of time to make new friends and experience new places. And love-love-love the six 25-hour days going East to West!! Very ...

This was my 12th transatlantic crossing with Celebrity. With the success of Captain's Club, traveling with Celebrity home has become very difficult to the point this will probably be our last 'over the pond' with Celebrity. We stay in Aqua Class for access to Blu which is totally amazing - service and people are very special and we will miss it. Service overall is wonderful and the ship is ...

This was our fourth crossing and third on Celebrity, one on Costa. We will never do Costa again for all the reasons you can find on Cruise Critic. Our second time on the beautiful Equinox, did the Med several years ago on a charter. The suite experience has been taken to a whole new level with the addition of the suite only restaurant Luminae!! Our wait staff, Dev his assistants and our ...

Fantastic Staff, Exciting Entertainment, Disappointed by Food

While it was our first TransAtlantic cruise, it was not our first cruise. The live entertainment in the theater each night was outstanding, very talented performers. The staff have been trained to provide exemplary service, and our cabin steward quickly ascertained our habits such that while we rarely saw him, his presence and attentiveness were ever present. While we can understand the ...
