Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Celebrity Equinox

I was not impressed with the security during embarkation. It was a total cluster. As suite guests ours was 1 of the last to arrive at our cabin and yet we were one of the first to arrive on-board. Huge problem during shows where people were allowed to sit in the aisles. This was a huge fire hazard concern. People would not be able to evacuate during a fire drill. In our cabin it was a great ...

Equinox vs RCI

My wife and I wanted to get out of Ohio for a couple of weeks and leave the cold behind. So we decided to try Celebrity and the Equinox. Getting on and off the ship was the fastest we have experienced. Overall the ship was very clean except for some paint chips falling off on our balcony all over the table and chairs. Finding a place to sit on the sun deck when the ship was at sea was ...

Disappointing

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Celebrity Equinox

Getting on the ship was the best ever, no lines, got right on. There was suppose to be special lunch for Concierge class people in the main dining at 11:30, when we when there, we were turned away and said to come back in a hour. Not a good start. The small number of children was refreshing, maybe 10 to 20 of the 2800 people on the ship. Five stars. Our room was okay, smaller then I would ...

Nice ship and nice cruise

The ship is nice - everything was clean and in good working order. We encountered a number of stellar staff. Unfortunately, we encountered a number of rude employees - especially one of the Ocean Grille managers, who was rude on several occasions. I will say in their defense, though, that they had just completed a T/A and were probably in need of fresh air and some down time. In addition, many ...

Did not live up to expectations.

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Celebrity Equinox

We got a great deal on this cruise and loved the itinerary. The ship was beautiful and in great condition. My husband was missing the outdoor movie screen he so enjoys. Our cabin was spacious with plenty of storage space. I did not like the shower as the shower head was fixed and not detachable. In a small space this is an annoyance. The food in the dinning room was a huge disappointment. ...

Pros: The crew on board the Equinox were great and the service in the dinning room was top notch. The entertainment in the theater was very good and the ships dance group sang and performed very well. The ship is kept spotless from stem to stern. All the crew members were always smiling and asking if there was something we needed. We had a balcony stateroom and it had plenty of hanging and storage ...

Overall my experience was great but from what I had heard about Celebrity, I was disappointed. The food was good but not great. The dessert selection in the dining room was limited and I only had one dessert that was very good. Many of the desserts in the Ocean Café were cake, fluff, and fruit pie filling that all tasted the same. We dined at the Tuscan Restaurant and while the food was good, ...

This was our return transatlantic cruise after 1.5 months travels in Europe. We usually choose an Aqua class or Sky suite, and this time it was Aqua mainly because of Blu restaurant that we like more than Luminae. The Ship is large but there was unavoidable overcrowding....that is expected. Cabin met our expectations, and we had great cabin attendants, Dinesh and Roy. The balcony was washed 2 ...

Some Disappointments

The service on this cruise was exceptional from our room attendant, BLU Dining waiters, bathroom attendants, pool staff, Oceanview staff and maintenance people. Of the thousand plus staff, there were only two who stood out and it wasn't for their service. We were displeased with the condescending attitude of the BLU Dining hostess and the poor service of the BLU Dining Sommelier. The food in ...

Not Much to Celebrate

Just returned from an eleven-day cruise to the Western Caribbean and found the experience to be varied: some parts were great and others not so good. We are not first-times, so I measure this cruise against Royal Caribbean, HAL, Princess, NCL, Carnival, and WIndstar. Here are some details by category: Embarkation: All smooth and well-managed. We arrived at the terminal just after it opened and ...
