Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Celebrity Equinox

This is was our 30th cruise on Celebrity and in our opinion since the new CEO has been on board it has gone steadily down hill. We were very disappointed in the food & selection in the main dining room. What happened to Top Chef? The maître' d's do not do anything to stop people from going in the dining room in shorts, swim trunks, t-shirts & flip flops. In the Oceanview Café we noticed several ...

Great overall with some room to improve

We just came back from Equinox cruise to the Caribbean. Here are our impressions. Overall it was a great cruise. The ship is nice (not remarkable, but nice). The service overall was good, but it felt like most of the people just came to work. I did not feel that any of them went the extra mile beyond what was required from them. We also were missing the "WOW" factor of RCI. Cabin was nice. ...

Good Cruise to Some New Ports

Embarkation was a bad start; arrived about 11:30 and was put in a line for Select, Elite, and Elite Plus guests. Took over an hour to get on the ship. Worst Celebrity embarkation ever! Many stations were not manned and some of the staff seemed new or ill trained. Sailed the Equinox this time last year and for the most part a similar experience although Celebrity seems to be starting to cut some ...

Chose this cruise as the destinations were interesting. This was our first cruise experience in many years and it certainly did not disappoint. Equinox is a lovely, well maintained ship and the service was excellent. We particularly enjoyed our stateroom and it's balcony, from which we saw dolphin and flying fish. The weather was warm and totally cooperated for our cruise. We ...

2 Equinox cruises in Nov and Dec 2016 We have taken the same cruises for the past 3 years. Many changes and downgrades. Things that have changed. No more chef food demonstrations in Celebrity central. Eliminated the display of upscale restaurants food on second day of cruise. Eliminated the big lunch/brunch display that happened on one sea day. Main dining menu has reduced number of ...

Great & Restful Cruise

Really great transatlantic cruise from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale. We were in a balcony cabin that seemed to have a little more space which we definetly liked. Very clean and a lot of fun activities throughout the cruise. Alejandro was a fantastic and funny Cruise Director. Entertainment started off a little slow, but it improved and got better as we continued our itinerary. Food was really good ...

Great Cruise with Some Deficiencies

The Celebrity Equinox is a wonderful ship with many outstanding features. This Transatlantic cruise had a great itinerary and the ocean crossing portion was enhanced with some excellent entertainment and "Beyond the Podium" speakers. In particular, there were three superb entertainers -- Katie Clark. classical pianist, Jayne Curry, singer and comedienne and Hanna, classical violinist. Speakers ...

Great cruise. The staff on the Equinox is the best. Loved the food in Blu, as usual. Finally got to Africa after three tries. The watercolor class and leader Debbie was a highlight of the morning. Wish their were 2 sessions of stretch class. Way too crowded. Bars are way too crowded at coupon time. Never any seats available at 5 pm. Both getting on and off the ship went very smoothly, ...

We Liked So Much The First Time... We Did It Again

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Celebrity Equinox

We did the inaugural Transatlantic on the Equinox in 2009. We enjoyed it so much that we chose it again for it's last Transatlantic. The ship was in splendid condition, and the crew was their usual professional and friendly selves. On this particular cruise there was two standouts: Jayne Curry (a singer and comedian from England) "Ratatouille" the Cruise Director. We enjoyed all ...

Our second Celebrity cruise. We liked the sound of the itinerary. I researched the itin prior to sailing. Didn't need to after all. Embarkation was very smooth, as was disembarking. The staff really wants to expedite the process. The ship decor is very nice. The guests are of a nice caliber. Not a lot of kids. However, the artwork provided by Park West is mostly the same on every ship they are on. ...
