Found the ship really nice. Was my first cruise so nothing to compare against. Several people told me that the bar was now set pretty high now. We were in cabin 6129. Remember the water bottles on the bar and items in the mini fridge are not free. I took them out right away and put stuff we brought in there. Replaced the original stuff before we left. I am a coffee drinker. Frankly that was the worse thing about the ship. The coffee is not very good. In the Oceanside cafe it’s horrid. The only good coffe there is the one station as you head to the aft deck. In the main dining room it’s ok. For room service ( morning coffee ) don’t bother. Everything else was great. Bartenders really are not impressive. I get it they are not tipped by the drink etc but they could stand a bit more personality. Over all wonderful first cruise. Like everything, don’t believe all the flash in the ads but it felt classy. Read Less

It was part of a group so this was their choice. I felt all we could do was go to the pool. Found the pools extremely small. I didn't think there were enough activities. The food was extremely salty and portions were very small. Didn't find wait staff very friendly. I felt they were doing their jobs. In the Ocean Cafe it was great that there were to go cups in the morning, but I wish they were left out during the day. Also I had been on Celebrity in 1999, it is nice to see the water dispenser in 2018 doesn't work any better than in 1999. Had a great time because of the people we were with. I wouldn't go on this line again if it was just my husband and myself. I can't speak about the entertainment since we all sat and talked during and after dinner so we were to late for the shows. My wife and I were part of a group of 12 that chose this cruise because of the itinerary, Celebrity reputation (several of us had cruised on Celebrity before) and our desire to play poker and maj john each day. Service was impeccable, embarkation and disembarkation the best of the last 12 cruises we have taken. Our group had its own dining table, and our servers were able to meet our many special requests and our service-time desires (super friendly too). Food quality was well above average. I would give the EQuinox experience a "10", and recommend it for everyone, EXCEPT for groups like ours that need a large space for special activities (cards in our case). The card room is totally inadequate for even small groups ( less than 12 four person tables). Guest Relations staff were unable to find us a dedicated or shared space, and recommended we just "play in the casino'. That was not the purpose of the cruise. Fortunately, the Events Coordinator found us a conference room to use. That was excellent, but can not be relied on. I would not book this ship again for a group like ours. Read Less

This was our 35th cruise. We drove to the Port and parked in the Cruise Terminal Parking Garage. The cost is $20 per day but because this was only a 7 night cruise the cost wasn't so bad. We also like that it is covered and secure. On longer cruises, we sometimes rent a car and drop it at the airport. Same for our return. They have a shuttle to the port. This was our 3rd time on Equinox and we were not disappointed. The staff and officers were visible and friendly; the ship was well maintained. We thought the food in the Oceanview Cafe was greatly improved. The dining room was good as always. We had a Concierge cabin #9243. The room was clean and our attendant, Hector, was fantastic. Would request that room again. The entertainment was very good in the main theatre. We especially enjoyed the comedians. Disembarkation was a little behind schedule due to customs but once our number was called, it moved fairly quickly. We will be going back on Equinox in 3 weeks and cannot wait! Read Less

Have cruised several times, but this was our first on Celebrity. As we were cruising with three other couples, to celebrate three of our birthdays, we were restricted on when and where we cruised. The other three couple are from the US, so we knew we would be cruising out if Florida and this cruise from Port Lauderdale suited us fest. Embarkation was extremely slick, almost straight on to the ship, unlike many previous cruises. The staff were excellent, with a capital E! Extremely helpful, cheerful, preofessional, approachable and always service with a smile. Food was excellent too. Dining room food was better than our last couple of cruises. We had three specialty meals, for our birthdays. Muranos was just the best, food and service perfect. We are quite a rowdy crowd of oldies, but we were in a separate room off the restaurant, so we didn't disturb anyone and could enjoy ourselves without offence. Tuscan grill, the food was good, but the service not so. A bit disappointing after Muranos. The Ocean grill was great, fabulous variety of food. We had breakfast and lunch here. Also found a nice little cafe in the solarium late on in the cruise and had a very nice salad and dessert here one lunch. The entertainment was the best we have had on a cruise. Shows excellent, especially the Beatles, Broadway songs and the comedians were hilarious. We had an obstructed view balcony, which was fine, but the life boats were pretty obvious if you wanted a clear view. We would definite choose that category again. Balcony large enough fir two chairs and a small table. Cabin very comfortable, plenty of wardrobe space. Bathroom seemed bigger than prior cruises. We had the free drinks package, just the classic one, but it want we could also get speciality coffees and water as well as drinks. This package suited us fine. Plenty of bars to drink at, good disco, silent disco was great fun. Only moan fior me was the exorbitant price of Internet. Ridiculous, and many people decided it was too high, judging by the number of people at every port in the nearest bar with Wi Fi, on their phones and iPads! This really needs to be addressed. Disembarkation was just as slick, straight off the ship. Very impressive. Read Less

From the moment we walked on board, you get a feeling of being pampered and recognized as a guest. From the fantastic service in the dining room, to the personal service in some of the specialty eateries, the staff aboard are some of the best in the fleet. Food was fantastic, Officers were always around and taking part with the guests. I can't say enough about it. The Equinox ROCKS!!! Richard Spacey as CD is awesome! From hi funny stories to his socks habit, Richard knows how o MC the shows. Where some CDs are nothing more then a pom pass ass, Spacey is still one of the best out there. Stateroom attendants were right on cue. Never had to ask for anything. many of our friends said the same thing about there attendants as well. One thing about Celebrity... people really enjoy working there and it shows. We were there with a group so had the opportunity to see their event coordinator handle things. His name is Christian and was off the charts!!! FANTASTIC!!!! Seriously, evereything was handled and I would highly offer Celebrity's Equinox as one of their best! Read Less

We just returned from a 10 day cruise on the Equinox. This was our 5th Celebrity cruise, first on Equinox. For a ship this size I was very disappointed with several things. First, I'll give some positive remarks. The embarking and debarking were very well organized, no problem at all. The food in the main dining room was very good and we had exceptional servers, Edgar and Ferdinand. The cabin was okay, just the norm. We are Captain Club members, so we enjoyed the champagne, fruit and extras. Now, for the negatives. Three nights we were rerouted from the Sky Lounge where an activity was planned for the passengers but upon arrival it was booked for a Greek private party. I can understand one night, but three?? After all we did pay for this cruise also. We were directed to dance in the foyer, which is not a very big dance floor and people were all over the place, in the hall ways, overlooking on the balcony, wishing they could dance but had to watch instead. We and many others found this rude and unacceptable. The shows were so so not like on past cruises. Shops seemed rather expensive with some jewelry selling for hundreds and thousands. The casino was as tight as &*%$, really can't put that in words...Many night the casino was almost empty and the card tables were almost begging passengers to play. The seas were very rough the first two days down and the two days returning. Our cabin was in the front of the ship, first time and last time for that. Felt like I was on a roller coaster. This seemed like a much older crowd, and I'm not young but I still enjoy dancing and shows. The theater was always crowded but then because some of the entertainment was not interesting, people just got up and left on some of the shows. All in all I don't think I will book on this ship again. Read Less

We took a hotel shuttle to the port. Boarding was delayed until 3p.m. to allow the ship to be sanitized. This was the 3rd ship we had been on that had sickness on it and the 2nd very large ship. The crew cleaned and sprayed during the whole trip. Many people had colds on board. My husband has a tendency to get seasick so we had an inside cabin on the 9th deck. We had one closet and 4 small drawers, the least storage of the 6 ships we've been on in the last 12 years. The bathroom was very nice and had lots of room for two people. We were part of the nearly 500 jazz fans and 4 jazz bands so we were on board for our music and not to spend time in the cabin. The first night we found ourselves at a table of six by ourselves, our 3 friends were scattered throughout the dining room. But we were put back together the rest of the trip. The Oceanview Cafe area is very confusing with all the different stations. By the time you stand in all the lines to get the food you want and find a seat, your food is cold. The ship is beautiful but seemed designed more for looks than function. We also had a problem with walking through heavy smoking areas. The Sky Lounge was set up so that it was hard to see the band which we love to do. We were able to push the curtains aside and find chairs to bring us closer to the dance floor and away from the smoking side. There's a jogging track but no walking track all the way around the ship on the lower deck which we like to walk on during the days at sea. The ports were great. Before we took the train ride on St Kitts, I met Greg who led me up a mountain 18 years ago when I was a lot younger. On Dominica we took the Cooking Caribbean tour which was an experience just getting up the mountain. We couldn't help with cooking because we both caught colds but we enjoyed watching the preparation of 3 dishes plus dessert and enjoyed a wonderful meal and the view. This was our absolute favorite tour. I'm a woodcarver so my next favorite was the Medford Mahogany factory on Barbados. The Butterfly Farm on St. Martin was a special treat for a couple of gardeners.
