We chose this cruise with Celebrity for the sunshine in the southern Caribbean after a long Norwegian winter. Having cruised on Equinox before we knew what to expect but captain Kate and Maarten the cruise director certainly made a difference to our cruise experience.
Captain Kate, the first female captain in the fleet, was visible on board both to meet the passengers and take photos eg on ...
BACKGROUND: DW and I wanted to celebrate her birthday and Mother’s Day so we booked the 10 day X Equinox.
Pre-cruise: We flew into MIA two days before the cruise from Syracuse, NY and took the shuttle to the Blue Lagoon Hampton Inn. The hotel was near a strip mall which had a multitude of stores. Staff was helpful, room was a good size, beds were comfy, breakfast was ample, Wi-Fi and TV ...
Cruise was selected by dates due to leave restrictions. That said - the ship and staff were impressive, clean, courteous, committed would be a snap summary.
The pools are small crowded and over run - people reserving loungers that they never use whilst sat at the bars etc. Pool games / entertainment is brief and amateur to say the least not really fitting the surrounds or the staff in general. ...
The jazz cruise with three days in New Orleans was very enjoyable. Regular main dining room food generally was excellent. Ship's staff were friendly, professional and out and about throughout the ship. However, Celebrity's continued cutbacks were noticeable. Celebrity completely eliminated the publication of hard-copy daily news summaries (the daily USA, French, Germain, Spanish, British, etc.) ...
Surprises & pleased to see Captain Kate McCue! She is such a terrific marketing tool - she is so personal & interactive with the staff & passengers. We loved the Equinox - it was our 3rd time onboard. The ship personnel were excellent, food was plentiful, loved Cafe al Bacio, embarkation & disembarkation went very smoothly.
Outstanding crew members:

This was our 13th cruise, first with Celebrity. We usually cruise with Royal or Princess. We booked this vacation for a low key spring break with our two teenagers, one balcony cabin and one interior.
Despite some issues booking both cruise and air, using the Celebrity specialists, once on board the vacation was very nice and relaxing. The ship is beautiful and well maintained. There was ...
Chose this cruise because the dates suited my holidays and the Caribbean location suited two sun-starved Irish girls.
Embarkation was well managed and organised. The welcome aboard drinks were a lovely touch.
Service was in general excellent throughout, except for a few mix-ups at the customer relations desk.
The food was fabulous throughout. I'd only say that there are not many ...

We had taken his older brother on Celebrity Century for his 8th birthday and now it was the middle grandson’s 8th birthday. We chose to celebrate that birthday with another Celebrity cruise, this time on Equinox. We picked this sailing because it aligned perfectly with his spring break and it ...
We picked this cruise because it was a last minute deal over spring break and Celebrity is the same company as Royal Caribbean, which we love and have been on various ships many times! There was nothing wrong with this cruise (we had a great time), but we just feel like there was less to do, the crowd was older, and it was a little more upscale that we want when we are on vacation. Our room was ...
The cruise was great. I think that the staff work very hard. Our cabin stewed worked long hours, the kids would have liked the towel animals though.
The buffet was delicious, the night we skipped going to the sit down restaurants they had beef wellington in the buffet, so we had to make do, HA. The MDR had great food and very nice service but the Sommelier was not up to par. We were on the ...
