My husband chose Celebrity, because we'd both had a very good experience sailing with them five years ago on the Solstice. We also really enjoyed being Spa class and having access to Blu. He wanted his mother to experience it, too. Overall, it was still very good. Blu was usually excellent with only a few weak courses during meals. Our cabin was nicer than five years ago. Our bed was much softer. I was able to sleep better than I had. I also really enjoyed our deck, which may partially be due to the weather. The excursions were a lot of fun. I particularly liked the one to St. Paul-de-Vence. Our guide was very knowledgeable, plus the entire artistic nature of the town was quite a treat. Our guide to Pisa and Florence, Maria Grazie, was also very good, very knowledgable. She made sure we stood in excellent spots in the crowded Accademia to get a good photo shot of the David, plus she took us through many pretty, picturesque streets in Florence, which weren't too crowded. Murano's was lovely. It's delightful to know there are still restaurants where you can eat excellent food and get pampered within an inch of your life. The entertainment on the Celebrity Equinox was excellent, particularly Ancora and 'Elysium'. George gave a very interesting lecture on art history over the ages, too. Service was first rate. I'm delighted we went with the Celebrity, that we got to sail on the Equinox, and that my mother in law got to experience it. Read Less

This was our 4th cruise with Celebrity and the 1st for my parents. We stayed overnight in Barcelona and prior to setting off from home had received the dreaded email advising gastro-intestinal problems had been on the previous cruise and we couldn't embark until 2pm.After a wonderful stay at Hotel Duquesa de Cardona we got a taxi to the port at 1.30. Our suitcases were bundled off and we were given priority as my mother is disabled. Boarding began on the dot at 2pm and we were soon in the Ocean View. Lunch was being served due to lockdown but it didn't bother us and we noticed people taking less than the usual piled up plates they have. We were delayed in setting sail and getting our cabins but it was only to be expected and knowing they were taking extra precautions were good especially as we were travelling with elderly parents susceptible to bugs. We were Select dining and some nights were organised well and some not but the Maitre'D worked very hard to allocate tables and when there were long lines allowed my Mum to have a seat or we would be given priority which was a nice touch. I cannot say enough about how all the staff were caring towards my Mum's needs. We ate every evening in the MDR and without exception all the food was good or better. We are not keen on Top Chef and mostly chose from the classic menu that night. We had the classic drinks package and mostly the Sommeliers were brilliant helping us choose wines to suit our food. The 3 formal nights were overkill and not necessary especially as there was no special thank you to the staff as on previous cruises. I like to applaud their work, skills and customer service and it felt flat. Our cabin stewards worked tirelessly as always and kept both our cabins clean and tidy.Good to see chocolates back -yes we actually like them and no we didn't have threadbare towels but lovely fluffy ones. We eat quite late and are not particularly bothered about entertainment but my teens went to quite a few shows and enjoyed. This ship was full of teens but what do you expect its the summer holidays! When my kids are grown up -i'll avoid this period but for the time being its brilliant knowing your kids are safe and meeting other teens from all over the world.I ask them to be respectful of others but sometimes they forget just like we did when we were kids. I didn't see any bad behaviour but occasional running up and down stairs from younger kids was quite common. My favourite ports were Kotor -stunning and Amalfi and those 2 alone made the cruise for me. Corfu Town is suffering badly from the Greek crisis and was dirty. We were sad to get off but disembarkation was as easy as embarking thanks to an assistant with a wheelchair for Mum.We grabbed the cases and our driver was waiting for us. We stayed an extra night in Fiumicino Hotel Tiber which was lovely and ate at a local restaurant watching a fabulous sunset. It was a brilliant holiday with minor irritations which we could live with. I will cruise with Celebrity again. Read Less
