Great Cruise with Some Deficiencies

The Celebrity Equinox is a wonderful ship with many outstanding features. This Transatlantic cruise had a great itinerary and the ocean crossing portion was enhanced with some excellent entertainment and "Beyond the Podium" speakers. In particular, there were three superb entertainers -- Katie Clark. classical pianist, Jayne Curry, singer and comedienne and Hanna, classical violinist. Speakers ...

Great cruise. The staff on the Equinox is the best. Loved the food in Blu, as usual. Finally got to Africa after three tries. The watercolor class and leader Debbie was a highlight of the morning. Wish their were 2 sessions of stretch class. Way too crowded. Bars are way too crowded at coupon time. Never any seats available at 5 pm. Both getting on and off the ship went very smoothly, ...

We Liked So Much The First Time... We Did It Again

We did the inaugural Transatlantic on the Equinox in 2009. We enjoyed it so much that we chose it again for it's last Transatlantic. The ship was in splendid condition, and the crew was their usual professional and friendly selves. On this particular cruise there was two standouts: Jayne Curry (a singer and comedian from England) "Ratatouille" the Cruise Director. We enjoyed all ...

Our second Celebrity cruise. We liked the sound of the itinerary. I researched the itin prior to sailing. Didn't need to after all. Embarkation was very smooth, as was disembarking. The staff really wants to expedite the process. The ship decor is very nice. The guests are of a nice caliber. Not a lot of kids. However, the artwork provided by Park West is mostly the same on every ship they are on. ...

The positives of cruising on the Equinox are many and already well described by many other reviewers. The crew and officers are genuinely friendly and that helps make this cruise memorable and pleasant. For a TA the speaker program was a welcome daily event and there were several different topics covered that kept people filling the room each day. I rated the EQ down one star based on a ...

The ship itself was nice and clean and everything looked shiny and clean. The Purel bottles were everywhere and we were constantly urged to use them. I don't think anyone minded. As far as I know there was no Norovirus on this cruise. It did feel crowded at times, particularly at the Oceanview Buffet restaurant and in the corridors after dinner. No complaints at all about our cabin. We were ...

Celebrity has been dependable in the past and was on this cruise. TransAtlantic is a good value, will do it again for third time. Embarkation and disembarkation went as expected, smooth and relatively quick. Ship was in great shape and stateroom was fine - no issues. Staff was overall courteous and efficient. Dining room staff was excellent as were stateroom attendants. Bar staff were ...

A Return to the Equinox

After a very stressful encounter with US Immigration at Miami, and I have to say it takes a special kind of bully to treat people with such contempt and disregard knowing they are unable to say or do anything about it. Our American friends reassured us that they receive the same treatment. Shame these officials seem to forget we are tourists and visitors to the States and not criminals. Anyway, ...

Celebrity Equinox 2015 Transatlantic – Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale Why this cruise? We usually choose a cruise for its itinerary; modified by the perceived caliber of the cruise line, based on our prior experience if possible. We liked the four stops, particularly Lanzarote and Tenerife in the Canary Islands. We had visited there in 2009 on Equinox’s initial transatlantic voyage, so we had ...

My First Civilian Cruise

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Celebrity Equinox

First Time Cruiser • Age 70s

My last "cruise" was courtesy of the US Navy 40 years ago when I served in the USMC. Unlike many of my companions on that one, I enjoyed it despite the cramped quarters and sparse amenities. Since then, I'd always been curious about civilian cruises and wanted someday to return to sea. I convinced my wife that we should return from our fall tour of Spain via cruise ship, as the repositioning ...
