This cruise was a charter cruise, chartered by Atlantis Events and was an all gay cruise.
Cabin service
I did 13 "normal" cruises and 12 gay cruises, but this was the first time that I was very disappointed of the service of the cabin steward (female)! We had cabin nr, 8102 and this cruise was supposed to be our honeymoon cruise. During our acquaintance I told the steward that I only need ...
I really used to love Celebrity, the level of service from the personnel onboard was so overwhelmingly friendly and the food used to be phenomenal. However, this last cruise to the Med did not leave me with a feeling of being well looked after and taken care of but more of a this is all part of the routine from week to week.
We booked a Concierge Class cabin but really got none of the former ...
We've cruised with Celebrity before (on Eclipse) and loved it. Equinox is a fine ship, our restricted view balcony cabin was great (the view was only partially restricted) and the itinerary should have been fantastic. Unfortunately the cruise got off to a bad start as Celebrity decided not to stay in Istanbul. The stay in Istanbul was the main reason for choosing this cruise. The day before we ...
My wife and I recently travelled on the Equinox on a cruise and the standards have gone down hill. We have taken 12 cruises on Celebrity (most of them 12 days or longer) and the quality and service that we have come to expect from Celebrity was severely lacking on this cruise.
Pluses:
- Stateroom attendants and Butler (Ashwin, Clive and Courtney) were very nice but overworked. How can you expect ...
This was our first time on Celebrity and the cruise was good. We flew into Venice and the pier was very nice and easy to board. The boarding process was the best part of service on this cruise. There were several minor annoyances, but in general the ship and staff and ports were just OK.
Our cabin was 6179 which is a veranda room and was very nice. Our view was one of the life boats which was not ...
We have only been on Nile Cruises before, which we enjoyed. It was our Thirtieth Wedding Anniversary in September and we thought we'd give a Cruise covering the Eastern Med' a go. Loved the Destinations we went to and spending time together but that was about it.
Embarkation was well organised and we were impressed with our Cabin, well appointed with a lovely Balcony. This is when it went down ...
We selected the Equinox for the second time because overall, we really enjoyed the 1st cruise, with 1 exception, which will be discussed in the review later.
Let me first say We believe the Equinox is really fine, and the quality is there, everything about the ship is fine. It's the people that are causing problems with cruises, in fact all cruise lines. I'll explain.
We experienced sickness ...
Having booked Aqua Class on a more modern Luxury Cruise ship with an exciting itinerary, we very much looked forward to this cruise. The journey started with unexpected rain in Rome and an accident on the motorway, which led to our luggage being delayed to late that night. Unable to unpack prior to dinner or being able to change for dinner, this was not the best of starts. The cabin design was ...
My husband and I enjoy traveling off season when there were fewer people.
We found a good deal on what we had heard was a great cruise line, and some of the ports were new to us, since we have cruised the area before. Embarkation was pleasant, the lunch buffet was nice. Our cabin was very normal, with less closet space than we would have likes. Jackets stayed on the floor the entire cruise. ...
Flight to Athens was uneventful. Arrived on time, and took a cab to the Intercontinental Athens for one night. Hotel was beautiful, but, is in the middle of nowhere. They had a shuttle bus that takes you to and from the square in Athens every half hour or so, but, we did not feel comfortable waiting for the shuttle at the square for the return because of all the beggars and vagrants. Next time, ...
